What the...!!! First they put me in a new exhibit that positively reeks of snow leopards and now I'm hearing some strange roaring going on. Alright! Where's Rod Serling?
@33Keith33 Thanks, Keith! Once again, your imaginative humor adds to my videos!
I hadn't thought about it before you mentioned it, but it does look like she has the kind of expression people get on their faces when they find themselves in a place where unusual, unexpected things are happening, and they can't help saying, "Am I in the Twilight Zone?".
And, as is the case for humans, it is always good when situations keep us mentally alert and curious!
Their senses are SO acute it's totally amazing and the reaction of the Lioness when she hears the roar is incredible. Great capture Merry !! 5*s They are SO protective of their species something many people could probably learn a lot from. I can't express my overwhelming desire to get close to a lion or any big cat for that matter as with my big snakes I am awed by their beauty and my interest always over powers my fears.
@1softkiss I can't imagine your ever being in danger from any creature. I think your love for all creatures would soothe any wild beast, no matter how wild.
Of course, I know that is dangerous thinking, and I'm not recommending that you put yourself in a dangerous situation - I'm just saying what I feel about your love of animals and the obvious effect it has on them that is shown in your videos!
@ZooVisitorMM Thank you Merry and after having snakes for 46 years I can vouch for the fact that wild animals can sense a persons aura and their overall approach can be read and determined really fast by animals. They are regardless wild by nature and that has to be given all serious consideration but I've never feared any animal. I've always loved and respected them and admired them as well. I've saved raccoons and skunks in the past found on my land and released them.
@TomChair It really is interesting. Many times I have observed the lions closely to see if they reacted to the artificial sounds, but they never seemed to even notice the growling and roaring at all while they were in their own exhibit.
I wonder how long they would have to stay in a different area before they would become used to the sound coming from a different angle.
