  • if you dont like it take that 1:20

  • FANTASTIC WELL DONE

  • I tried learning this song on guitar. very painful on the hands. great work but I could tell it was hurting a bit

  • Man you so ROCK,, you really are a big deal dude!!!

  • qwue padre

  • Great work bro, the music and the video are both high quality. Just a question, what software did you use to do the video editing? I've been looking to do something similar with layering multiple guitar tracks on video, but I don't know how to do it.

  • im watching on 240p right now, are those nylon or steel strings. They sound like nylon but squeak like steel strings when you slide

  • You know, I've been watching other video covers of this song in guitar and even though you make some little mistakes, I like yours better, because you put such an emotion into it, congratz men!!

  • When i was younger and fresh into classical guitar i really enjoyed your videos but now that im older and have way more experience i see the flaws in your technique (e.g. the distance between your fingers and the fret board when not pressing down or the way ur right had is far to curved in ur frangles).dont get me wrong some of it still sounds nice but this is not professional. i would challange you to a peice such as capricho arabe or leyenda

  • @arcaniondeath666 Hey I'm glad you enjoyed my videos. It's great that you are progressing as a guitarist!! Capricho Arabe and Leyenda are great songs and definitely challenging (that is a good thing). Tarrega is one of my favorite composers for guitar!

  • @johnclarkemusic Im very glad to hear that as he is the father of classical guitar and please dont take my critism wrong wither i think you sound wonderful in many of you videos espically the most evolved many classical guitarist i know cant write music that well so in some ways you have them beat ha

  • well played, it is not easy

  • @MrKuhistani Thanks! It was especially challenging with the camera mounted to the headstock!!

  • Wow i realy like beethoven as far as classicals and you play this very well not realy an easy peice on a guitar ;D keep it up check out yngwie malmsteen hes an excellent guitar player i see you like the spanish style im latina so i dig it toO lol but guitars are a fasinating instrument they make you feel things happiness, blues..., a thaught unexplainable realy what cant be said in words you can always play so checkem out ;D ttyl ~V~

  • @321Veronic Thanks for your comment! It's true, music makes up for what can't be expressed with words!

  • thanks for giving me hope,

  • @gusrip53 You got it. Never give up.

  • Bravo!!!!!!!!!

  • I play Moonlight Sonata's Beethoven as well, and this composition is complex and beautifull. those who hit the dislike button don't understand the meaning of this masterpiece. let's appreciate to those who play this piece. shall we..

  • The likes and dislikes bar looks like the green cigarette :)

  • i think this is the most amazing song by Beethoven because he wrote it knowing he was going to die and it has that ethereal quality to it bridging the gap between life and death

  • @gweenace I love this song. Beethoven rocks!

  • @gweenace mmm he didnt wote it to a dead prince ????

  • very good!

  • Love this too

  • Hey John, don't let the haters get to you, this was a beautiful piece regardless of what others think. The ones who can't appreciate this video are the ones who don't understand the complexity of the piece.

  • I love this.... It's so mysterious and the guitar is amazing.

  • @johnclarkemusic

Beautiful performance! One question though, have you ever considered performing a faster interpretation of the piece? Something along the lines of Benjamin Zander's arrangement?

  • masterful performance should be rewarded

  • Uau, parabéns!

  • The right hand jumps. Your picado great, but tyrando ...

  • What kind of video program are you running here? I like the effect.

  • hi charlie! you had great performance in Lost series.

  • Great stuff John! Sounds like no nail for P, but nails on I,M,A?

  • yes there are a few mistakes, but the timing is not wrong...

in a song like this i think u are allowd to have a small variation in the timing.

  • whoa, not flamenco, classic style

  • Great song-bad guitarist.

  • @dgpranayama dude hes frieken awesome

  • @TastyTortilla You think he's awesome- maybe you should get out more often. LISTEN AGAIN- I'm doing so right now- may I should'nt have said bad guitarist, but rather this song is just to difficult for him. ( he's stumbling all over the place- and his timing is off. He's better than me. But I know better than to put up a video like this one. It hurts to hear this butchered.

  • @dgpranayama the most evolved is cool

  • @dgpranayama

I don't believe this song is difficult for him, I believe he put less effort in practising this track, while putting more effort in his own composions. Try and check out his original tracks, they will blow your eardrums off and you will still keep asking for more.

  • all who are saying it's not so good, try to do it better... this is awesome classic guitar.

  • man that would be hard lol.....to play for guitar

  • aah. Moonlight Sonata.

  • bravo

  • it doesn't have to be perfect. Its from the soul and thats all that matters. Great work.

  • naon szörnyű...tök gáz nkáb tök padló

  • Very nice. Beethoven is sleeping happily in his grave now :-)

  • damn.... that was awesome

  • sooo goood :') do you by any chance know where to get the music score for this one? pretty interested to learn this song :D

  • @MistahKiwi8071

The perfect guitar tablature for this song is found on ultimate guitar dot com

  • Hey john! i thought your work was soooo good i bought your album "acoustik guitar" on itunes it is truly beautiful! I listen to it every night before bed. Keep up the amazing work!

  • Okay, so I'm a pianist and I definitely enjoyed this more than hearing it on a piano (gasp! blasphemy!) You have magically fingers, sir (I realize this is fodder for jokes, but it's true!) Great job!!!

  • Beautifully played.

  • what kind of nylon strings would you suggest? i got the new musician's friend but there are only two kinds of nylon strings..and this is veryy beautiful..glad to see new videos :)

  • great work, great song, well done.

  • DUDE GET YOUR COPYRIGHTS A DUDE NAMED BEETHOVEN COVERING YOUR SONG AT PIANO

  • @madmenism94 LOL!

  • @madmenism94 lol! I guess I took it for granted that everyone would know this piece is by Beethoven. I'll put his name in the description! by the way music that is more than 80 years old is usually in the public domain...meaning it can't and shouldn't be copyrighted!

  • liked and favourited!

  • how did you learn all this?

  • I wish all the criticism would cease. For a piece like this, John did an amazing job with small flaws and all. I'd love to see a better performance of this from any of those who criticize.

  • I know most of that exactly the way you play it! I transposed it myself, but I like how got all of it!

  • Hey John, What would you rate this out of 10 in difficulty?

  • I was wondering if I saw this video yet... and then I saw my comment... and it's still so boss!

  • I am always happy when I see you've added a new video. I enjoy your playing a lot, and I think the spit screen is really cool.

  • Is not so good

    I like u

    but

this vid have so many fails

repeat it and upload it again

  • hhhh i was wondering why you didnt have a video for this piece

  • Nice to see you upload again ;) Great job as usual.

  • Apparently 4 ppl can play better den him, n write better music than beethoven...

  • It has been WAAAAAY tooooooo long.. Glad your back, I have been jonzing for your beautiful music.

  • I'm the kinda person that loves music so much, i start to tear up up at the feeling this song radiates...

  • sin palabras... muy bueno

  • very good job, some of the parts the chord changing is a little rough and lacks fluidity. Overall very good.

  • Excellent.

  • Excellent.

  • where can i find tabs?

  • beautiful.. one of my favorite songs

  • Brilliant

  • Beautiful but am drawn more to earlier music. Want to see facial expressions.

  • My sister saw him performing in the streets once. She told me he's a real nice person :D

  • i believe you can do better

  • Ok, you're awesome. I love you.

  • GREAT WORK!!!!!!!!!!

  • great, great work... thank you so much.

  • A bit of constructive criticism here, but I prefer your original/earlier videos to these newer ones. Imho, since you started using the mounted camera to record your music, I have found that the sound quality is not as good as before. Also, the fact that I cannot see you, makes the videos less enjoyable to watch, because its your expressions and body language (as well as the music) which I like about you.

  • so beautiful john

  • amazing

  • very nice

  • you might want to fix the title

  • One of my favorite classical songs of all time.

    And on a Spanish guitar.

Keep up this amazing work, Mr. Clarke.

  • Hi John,

I would just like to say I absolutely love your music and find it very inspiring. I was wondering if you know of anywhere with the tablature for Moonlight Sonata as I can't find it on your website and I have been meaning to find the tabs to learn it for my vest friend for quite some time now. It is one of her favourite pieces, and would mean a lot if you replied by sending a message.

Thank you very much for your time.

    Kind regards

    Matthew

  • @RationalSteely look it up on ultimate-guitar, i found a good tab

  • Very soothing, great playing B.T.W.

    Harry

  • John! You're back! Hooray!

  • that Bthowen guy was a talented one :)

  • @thatwhichidesire And to think he was deaf, almost completely.

  • its damn beautiful :)

  • Great song to come back with, John!!

  • Oh yeah! John Clarke is the shizzzzzznnnit! It has been too long.

  • Love the guitarcam!!!!!

  • all i want is to see you live !

    Saludos From Puerto Rico!

  • its incredibly hard to play...

  • for some reason i feel your not as fluid as you should especially in the beginning be but not bad though

  • @sxmvelasquez Same here, but the rhythm patterns are complicated on the guitar with this piece. I'm sure, with practice...

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful. I felt you rused the tempo in a few places but I still give you 4 stars****

  • Metallica is my favorite band...but this stuff is like metal with slower, softer tones, so its incredible

  • You inspire me!

  • ONE OF MY FAVORITES! =D

  • Truly inspiring as always! Keep blessing the world with your work!

  • well,i cant understand.i think you have recorded the video two times!beacuse at the video οn the left, the guitar reflects on the surface with another angle than it reflects at the video to the right .but the strange is that you are moving your head up and down with the same way as you enjoy the music.

  • @christoss1994 it's just the way he's composited his videos, one from a camera in front of him, and the other mounted on his guitar. The "reflection" is a video effect, not a physical surface.

  • awwww! I'm learning this right now ad now i have something to look up to, thank you!

  • i need to learn this NOW!!

  • Brilliant........thanks for shareing

  • Beautiful. Glad that you can make our own rendition of this. Keep up the good work and I am glad to see you back at it
