I'm not saying it was right for Rachel to slap Bruce, but I think that hitting someone back should be done only for self defense when necessary. Bruce didn't need to defend himself here. If she had chased him and hit him harder and longer, he could have blocked her maybe. In this case, he did the smart thing by walking away.
