This interpretation is good, but I prefer the mysterious side of the harp, clarinet, flute and string quartet without any hesitating! Thumbs if you do too. :)
I'm trying to play it with piano solo, and my experience is that there are really fast arpeggios out there. Not easy to play, this is the best version I've heard on youtube.
Masterly playing, making a most convincing and enjoyable version of this gem. The 2-piano medium is already one of the most difficult, on matters of synchronisation,(not to speak of fine tuning!)alone. This transcription of a subtle&sensitive piece works well only with the finest musicians. A beautiful, glittering, yet confidential conversation between two instruments; ten minutes of pure pleasure. Bravo, and thanks!
Different enough from the original to be worth hearing in its own right: not as lush or dreamy, with more of that glinting frisson you get from a piece like "Jeux d'Eau." Yet it sounds like idiomatic Ravel (no surprise since he did the arrangement). Well played, too. Thanks for posting.
I have to agree the original version is preferable, but Ravel made the transcription himself, so it's great to have this piece in the 2 piano repertoire. I have to say having played the chamber ensemble reduction (piano II), it's probably harder than the solo harp part (piano I) and some camera work should have been on the second pianist's hands as well.
I have to say to playing is okay and the piece is beautiful, but being a harpist I must say the subtility the piece requires is only captured by the ensemble with the harp as a solo.........

Someone said Ravel was a Swiss watchmaker. Actually born in Southern France.
I love all his works. They all sound delicious and perfectly natural. I don't think he wrote anything that was not pure genius.

Giorgia is such a strong pianist and for the most part carried the theme, so, why were there no visuals of her hands?

does any one know if this piece was written for two pianos,or in a concertante style for piano and orchestra?

hi! this piece was written originally for a strange ensemble: harp, flute, clarinet and string quartet and afterward for two pianos by Ravel himself!
