I say let's severely cut military expending and charge at least some taxes to corporations. Reagan (may he stay in hell) and Bush handed the country over to a small group of corporations in exchange for NOTHING. Don't be fulled, the "trickle down economic" model does not exist, will never be a reallity and only serves one purpose: to give some conservative ideologues the illusion that they will get something for supporting corrupted tea party politicians.
I think the tea party is very much responsible for a lot of the recklessness going on in Congress right now. The tea party fights to give tax payers money to corporations, but corporations are not interested in creating jobs, they just want to live for free. The American people should fight the tea party before it is too late.
When Jimmy Carter left office in 1981, the national debt was $900 billion.
When Ronald Reagan left office in 1989, the national debt was $2.6 trillion.
When George H.W. Bush left office in 1993, the national debt was $4 trillion.
When Bill Clinton left office in 2001, the national debt was $5 trillion.Barack Obama it by $3 trillion, 90% of it to save us from the crash caused by 30 years of irresponsible spending.
When George W. Bush left office in 2009, the national debt was $11.6 trillion.
@blortner Obama raising our national debt by more than 3 trillion dollars in just 19 months didn't save us, it made the situation worse. Obama is raising our national debt at record breaking speed! It is time to start cutting back to 1990's spending levels or we are Greece baby!
@MacGirvan Obama inherited the debt left by the reckless spending under Bush. We waste way too much money in military personel that do nothing. Those people need to produce, but the tea party is invested in pushing for irresponsible candidates that give our tax money to corporations that are not interested in creating jobs. If we fight the tea party, maybe republicans will be a little more responsible again.
@MacGirvan That is a lie. The tea party is a corrupted entity created to distract people from real issues. The tea party is a dangerous unbrella of paramilitary conservative extremists that can only be compared to the taliban. They fight to exempt corporations from paying any taxes whatsoever and bringing back slavery. The teaparty showed how dangerous it is showing up with loaded guns to peaceful town hall meetings about health care reform, their reign of violence is well documented.

@BubbaTech It is far too late for that. Reagan presided over the dismantling of our manufacturing infrastructure, put policies in place that made it immensely profitable to send our jobs overseas. It´s funny the terrorists are actually winning this war, this is what they wanted a prolonged endless war. It´s how the US and the terrorists won against the soviet union, it collapsed under it´s own weight.
We MUST decrease government spending on military. The US spends more on military than China, France, UK, Russia and the next ten largest military COMBINED. This is completely irresponsible and robbing the US from spending money on make our homeland a better place to live.

There is only one way to stop the U.S. Gov from its insatiable perpetual borrowing - Destroy the institute of infinite lending to it via money creation, The Federal Reserve. The Fed creates the new dollars out of thin air and trades them indirectly though brokers to U.S. Treasury in exchange for Treas debt instruments. Most were then sold or exchanged to investors or foreign entities. Now most are simply kept on the Fed's balance sheet. Either way it is dollar desctruction though dilution.
Maybe policies that have put the majority of U.S. assets in the hands of 10% of its citizens and enabled the 6 largest banks in the nation to balloon to a point where their assets equal over 60% of the nation's GDP are bankrupting America. If Obama wanted to reform the financial system his admin would break up those fuckers. Instead he's left them with a gun to our heads. I'm sure Republicans would be in favor of breaking up big banks right? Aren't they the public's heroes all of a sudden?

People like to blame the government, but don't people find it interesting that no government seems to be able to solve the problem? Regardless of who gets in?
The problem is the system itself, it's designed to create un-payable debt.
So is that reducing it to 1990's levels equivalent, or by numbers? Like if it was $15,000 in 1990, reducing it to $15,000 today, or the 2010 equivalent of $15,000 in 1990? Basically, adjusted for inflation or no?
The only hope is the "Balkinazation" of the United States, i.e., break the country up into regional units. Obama and Dems have already done a wonderful job polarizing the Nation, so let's just go ahead and break up. The South has absolutely nothing in common with the NE nor the upper Mid-West, and Kalifornia might as well be a different planet. All the debt goes away and we start fresh.
The Treasury publishes the monthly deficit figures. There are ~2084 "work hours" in a year, divide that by 12 to get the avg # of hours in a work-month. Divide last month's deficit-increase by this and again by 60 and you get ~$22 Million dollars PER MINUTE that the government is overspending. Most people not named "Donald Trump" never earn $22 Million dollars in a lifetime. This video is 2.21 minutes long so almost $50 Million dollars went up in smoke while you watched it.
Washington already has bankrupted the US. We are 14 TRILLION in debt with no end in sight. The US also has more than 50 trillion in unfunded entitlements. We must do something now if the US is going to survive. Zero tolerance for illegal immigration, downsizing our military, ending unjust wars, abolishing NAFTA, and ending foreign aid would all be a great start.
Very funny! Is this video ironic and meant to expose how republicans have inflated the budget it works. Bankrupting America is paid for by Public notice which is a republican funded lobby and special interest group. Head of Public notice is Gretchen Hamel, former republican press secretary to many republican congressmen and the whole House republican conference.
So republicans are protesting the republican spending paid for with your money.
@liddell001 Are you kidding me with Ron Paul? Hes a complete joke. Do you actually think that ending the income tax, which actually is in the constitution as an amendment and therefor need quite a big legislative chance to implement, will balance the budget? What happens if you suddenly lost more than 50% of your income? How long would you manage before you were bankrupt and homeless? You know that the corporate and personal income tax is more than 50% of all federal receipts? Right. 1 TRILLION$
@mYOzZyKaT No need for a history lesson. I'm aware that the sixteenth amendment permits a federal income tax. You should be aware that that isn't Ron Paul's major issue. The whole point of this video, which you must have missed, is not abolishing the income tax but cutting federal spending, which has gotten completely out of control. Every time Congress hits a debt ceiling they raise it. Every time there isn't enough money the Fed prints more. (Look up hyperinflation. It may be instructive.)
@mYOzZyKaT But I digress. You and I both know that the federal income tax will not go away when Congress can't even balance the budget. Ron Paul knows that even better. So bye-bye, straw man. In a better world, where our leaders don't drive our country to ruin, we can discuss you again. Here's my plan, straight out of the Paul playbook: Cut spending. No, really, cut spending. Live within our means.
But I've said enough. Do you actually have a plan, or are you just here to whine?
The libertarians are right but have been 1% of the vote for 40 years and that is not going to change. The short term solution is to always vote for divided government. Divided government has been shown empirically by economists and historians to restrain the growth of spending. Voting for divided government means voting straight GOP in 2010, and if they take Congress, voting to re-elect Obama in 2012.
Well the best solution would be a reform of both parties. both parties have great origins and great early history but both of them have been infiltrated by fringe groups. The Democrats by the extreme left progressives during the 1890's because of WIlliam Jennings Bryan's movement and the Republicans by the Christian right in 1968.
The real problem is that both parties have to return to their roots. both parties started out with great platforms, except the whole genocide thing with the democrats first president, but both havve been infiltrated by fringe elements, the republicans by the religious right in 1968, and the democrats by the populist progressive extremists in the 1890's due to William Jennings Bryan's movement.
It will be interesting to see if enough grassroots support for fiscal restraint & reform can be produced before the US implodes a la the USSR. Unfortunately there are a LOT of people who will oppose any fiscal austerity measures, either for ideological reasons, because they have vested interests in maintaining the status quo, or simply because they're afraid of change.
Reform HAS to be bipartisan. Obama has a lot of the blame but so does GWB & all Congresses. This can't be Repub-only effort.
Just return govt spending per household to 90s levels. It's not like we were living in the Stone Age. Clinton was President, Snoop Dogg was topping the charts, and I was a rolling phat in my Plymouth Horizon. Whooomp - there it is! I'd go back in an instant.
Of course it is isn't it obvious that he is out of control on a power trip vote him out now. Before our country is totally ruined.

The Republicans are just as much to blame as the Democrats, thats why the Libertarian Party is the only plausible option.

@dougith
R vs. D is a false choice.
Divided Gov vs One Party Rule is the real choice.

@DWSUWF
