If this commercial was mad in 2009 that would mean that Smokey Bear was born in 1944. I think he was a little older than that. Smokey Bear psa commericals are hardly on tv today. They were far more frequent in the 1950s, 60s and when I was a kid the 70s.

this commercial use to freak me out, smokey acts like a killer bear. hand comes out of the darkness to put a candle light out then eazes back into darkness

Smokey's been spending at the gym, judging by his new CG Incarnation! These ads have lost their bite, in the old days the Ad Council used to scare the crap out of you to prevent you from starting a forest fire.
