When I was little I went to a Halloween party hosted in a barn that was setup like a haunted house. Where the refreshments were being served, I stole sugar cubes from the coffee table and snuck them to the horse, just like I saw in this movie :) That horse looooved me haha

nah sugar cubes are fine for a horse. they have amazing digestive systems. I had a horse that ate doritos. like i brought them out because i was eating them and he got a hold of the bag... and then my diet pepsi. and yes, he drank that too. lol

kindness tames a horse, which is why treats like sugar work. when they eat from your hand they learn to trust you. you can also put sugar on a bit for horses reluctant to take it.

I did not like any of the changes they made from the book to the movie! what a disappointment that was...

it wasn't broke so why did they 'fix it'? it had been a perfect story and they made its most dramatic moments silly and casted a kid instead of a young man... cheapened the match race with that silly head gear... what about the injury to the Black in the fight before the race and young Alec's concern that his horse was running while injured?

Well, stayathome123, by definition it is an adaption, which implies that SOME things are gonna be changed. Alec's age is not actually such a huge deal, neither is the 'head gear.' What would be annoying would be if they rewrote the whole book like they did with "The Young Black Stallion", because adaptions should follow the same basic plotline. But this movie stuck very close to th eoriginal story.
