Q44, we c/c 10 10 and lead the 7 turn. Opponent has KJ and snap folds but would have bet if we checked again. How much value we lose by making this play? KEEP OPPONENTS RANGES WIDE! c/c becomes 1000000x better always. Johnny chan play is a really terrible play. Any raise for information is just not a profitable play to make. We voluntarily isolate our opponents ranges to hands that beat us and blow out everything else. How can that ever be good?
@schlager233 Well you obviously know better by johny chan and daniel negreanu.. that's the beauty of youtube.. any nobody can call johny chan's play a terrible play.. after all talk is free.
i once discovered this on my own after dozens of heads up hours. sometimes i use it in the same way as daniel describes or, check/call the flop and then check/minraise the turn. I believe that both of these plays are great against weak opponents in such marginal situations. Thanks a lot for the post! Negreanu rocks!
make that play all the time, i call it taking the play away most of the time raiser makes con bet with nothing and even if you have nothing this play forces the raiser to fold.
Omg this is genius marry me Daniel!!
