loved this video jeff thanks. im a bit unusual in that, although im laid off my arm action isn't flat at all- its very steep- but the thing you said about the clubface opening earlier on in the swing was spot-on, that's it in a nutshell, =)
Hi Jeff. I severely lay the club off unintentionally. My clubface closes on the way back and at the top. Golf Tips magazine 2/2004 says that this closing of the clubface promotes the laid off position... so it is opposite what this vid teaches. Is there another way to fix this nasty position at the top? It has given me the shanks for years.
what happens to the shot or the ball if the swing is done flat or across? is it "wrong" to have such a swing, or is it just preferred to not have such a swing.
hey jeff, i personally dont lay off the club at the top of my backswing, it is parallel to where im aiming, but at the top of the backswing my hands are not above my shoulders, they are to the left of them, even though my club head still aims parallel, i was wondering if this is a problem and if you can prescribe any drills to fix it, thanks!
Best swing thought I have found for fighting the laid-off position. Thanks Jeff.

Jeff, I manage to take the club back shut and still get laid off at the top. Any suggestions?

What are the shot characteristics of the golf club being "laid off" or "across the line"?
