When I mixed this song I had to fly from Jersey to Detroit. That is where the masters were so I mixed it there. Then I ended up finishing it in NY. This went to number #1 on NY's WBLS. They were also nominated that year for a grammy for best gospel. They did not win but they were back on the grammy's a few years back for the 25 year tribute. Great song always was.

Man this takes me back to the Holy Convocation of the Church of God In Christ and they were playing this rendition and various other gospel artists' albums were on display. They had an 'echo' version of it i believe. Being in the rehearsals with their mom from 9am to 1am all day everyday until Official Day when the late Bishop J. O. Patterson would address the church sunday morning of the Holy Convocation COGIC.

This was probably one of the early house gospel songs. Detroit's own Clarke Sisters I remember when this was in heavy rotation on the radio back in the day every time I hear this track it just brings tears to my eyes.
