It seems to boil down to threats as a last resort one way or another. The threat of going to hell, the threat of visiting actual violence, the threat of losing one's job or social support... Belief all forced by punishment and not true facts. It's no different than the way a tyrant would govern a country. The believers worship a tyrant and use tyrant tactics to push it on others.
I thought the guy was actually attempting to understand the issue at first. I actually thought I was witnessing a theist make an attempt at learning and understanding and then the predictable happened. He showed his true colors.
It blows my mind that the caller stated the biggest reason why atheists don't believe by himself, and then freaked out. I can't understand his reasoning behind his anger.
@pandstar Yeah, I took a little bit of psychology, but I suppose it just baffles me that people find it so hard to accept what can be so easily described and is logical. I understand that it conflicts with his current beliefs and he is discomforted by it.
@heavymetalnguyen I have a feeling that, because Matt expressed himself so clearly, the caller began to understand the other side in a deeper fashion. Remember that there are a lot of Christians who are afraid when their beliefs are shaken. I'd like to think Matt got through to him. That was one of the best Atheist -Experience videos I have seen. Matt is very, very , VERY eloquent and clear. I would almost recommend this to my theist friends, but you know how that goes.
Caller to Matt: "Well, I got it. How 'bout this, how 'bout I just come down there and punch your fat head in for Jesus." LOL!
Atheists are barking up the wrong tree, they figure out religion is merely man-made concepts and that fundamentalists are usually all quite irrational, yet that's as far as they ever go. They embrace conventional "theoretic" science like Christians embrace old books and deny conscious experience beyond this reality, as in a higher dimension or higher consciousness.
@Hanahleia You're making false generalizations. You aren't listening to what Matt is saying, are you? Your reasoning is overcolored by past assumptions.
@twistedH3L1X My reasoning is overcolored by past assumptions and I'm making false generalizations? Okay, your reply is so overlaid with ambiguity that I'm not even sure anyone can decipher what you mean. Would anyone like to translate what twistedH3L1X means?
@twistedH3L1X I wasn't insulting you, I was trying to break through the ambiguity of your statement so we can actually begin to have a healthy dialogue.
@Hanahleia We embrace this "theoretical science" because this science, which you obviously know nothing about, gives us demonstrable evidences to support our theories. Btw, a theory is something which can be backed by demonstrable evidence. Personal experiences and old books, well, these are subjective and can be interpreted differently from person to person. Which explains the 34,000+ denominations of Christianity.
@atheistjacob Atheists are always hung up on 'demonstrable evidence,' which is why I'd urge any atheist to read Alan Watts, take up one of Terence McKenna's recommendations, listen to what Graham Hancock's raving about, or hear what Robert Anton Wilson thinks of 'demonstrable evidence.' What I mean by "higher consciousness" is probably more closely tied with quantum physics, in which it is nearly impossible, if impossible to have any "demonstrable" evidence as we traditionally accept it.
I don't take your meaning in reference to quantum physics at all. Quantum mechanics is among the most precise theories we have -- theoretical calculations of quantum values can be made to at least ten decimal places of agreement with experiment. We can *predict* with accuracy the outcome of quantum interactions. We build quantum apparatuses that perform exactly as we expect them to. How much more "demonstrable" do you want?
Accepting your challenge, I looked up Terence McKenna. Thanks, but I'll side with demonstrable evidence over hallucinogenic drug-induced babbling any day of the week. Show me some tangible, observable, testable, and reproducible evidence, and I'll listen to what you have to say. Altered brain chemistry is not a pathway to truth.
@pseudorandomly What I meant by take up Terence McKenna's recommendation is to actually have the experience with the dose ranges he recommended, which is very different from listening to him speak. Yes, it sounds like babble to you now, because you haven't had this colossal altered state of consciousness, so you have nowhere in your mind to relate to it in order to understand it. And your reference to QM is only the very low spectrum of QM of which our very limited instrumentality can measure.
@pseudorandomly I'll just suggest that you Google something like DMT or take a peak at Rick Strassman's book on DMT, research a phenomenon like "ego death" or "cosmic consciousness." Terence only pointed to a phenomenon that could potentially happen to anyone's consciousnesss, it's up to you to take the courageous dose that he spoke about, just be sure you prepare yourself by informing yourself about what you're really getting into. Then, judge for yourself.
Punch your head in for Jesus, That should be a Band name, or a bumper sticker, or a southern church sign. Oh how enlightened they are, I'll shall strike thee for the lord !
@breaneainn i don't believe what they believe in since i can think for myself ...faith is a belief without an answer I cant live by that its asinine by pretending you know when you don't (claiming a god yet no proof how can i believe whiteout faith)
@Joe81306 'A pair of hands working, does far more than a thousand hands clasped in prayer' Basically don't waste ur time praying, especially for an atheist.
Have you ever read the long study on prayer. About 2 thousand hart patients underwent intercessory prayer. Sum were made aware of the praying. Sum werent. A few of those who were made aware did slightly worse. D'ya know why? Their stress levels increased as they felt guilty of letting the people who were praying down. So prayer = pointless.
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing....For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdon; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and the Greeks foolishness....not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called...the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually descerned." (1Corninthians)
The greek term "elenchos" , which means "refutation" was commonly (in Homere time) a word for "shame", but it was more of a public shame. Plato then used elenchos to describe a thing which produce shame towards yourself (like "I'm ashamed of my own ignorance) and that was fine. Clearly at the last second of the video, that guy being refutated, or simply put to knowing what atheism actually is, was also ashamed of himself. Too bad he reacted so stupidly and transfered his anger away from himself.
This is civil up until the very end. While aggravating to see such a quick snap from a reasonable discussion into an emotional attack, I'm hopeful that it was simply the first step for the caller to using his rational mind. I like to think that this was simply the anger part of the grief stage, because being a the reasonable person he sounded to be in the beginning of the call he was actually persuaded to consider atheism... or he's now devoted his life to irrational hate.
If god created us and yet we don't believe, shouldn't he have foreseen this? He created us and knows what we are capable of so why leave nothing physical behind to prove he exists (bible was written by man)?
So when in the Quran it says "We've preserved pharoah's body so that it will be sign for us", given that pharoah's body was discovered recently and that this was written 1400 years ago...it leads me to believe a lot of people are foolish to not heed this. The reason you cannot prove God exists, is because God exists where time does not. He cannot be comprehended in the sense that you can apply physics and prove it. We also have a Book which stood the test of time. Now read the book and learn.
@grayziehobbes The only loser here is you, he who sits on his arse doing nothing and using resources. i do what you do, and more. It makes me a better person, a better man and more intelligent. Follow your quest of nothingness, it will help you when your soul is crushed drastically.
@extreme2929520 "I pray for all yall, I know I need not be looken at this stuff, it's nothing but all of the devil."
You came to this video for a reason...quite possibly because you have an open mind. There is no need to pray for Atheists (nice thought though). There have been many studies done on prayer, the largest of which was a decade long and involved devout believers praying for 1,800 heart surgery patients. The studies indicated there were no beneficial effects derived from prayer.
@extreme2929520 I have many other interesting items which would suggest that most religions appear to be somewhat inaccurate when only superficially scrutinized. If you truly do have an open mind...then please respond.
@extreme2929520 What don't you make something useful out of your time instead of praying which has been proving to change absolutely nothing to anything
I really don't care if people have a belief in a god, or god, except that there are people out there that try to make laws and pass legislation based on those gods. There is a difference between making laws and passing legislation when things are harmful to one another, or simply passing laws because it is wrong in the bible. And making laws based on the bible or Koran alone, such as gay marriage or not teaching evolution is wrong.
Just weak to me, nobody, can prove 100% that there is or isn't a God! Science can support either way, Science has a track record of coming up short, theories are amended or changed. Science supports dimensions, I think up to 35. And we're in what, a 5 dimensional realm, time, height etc. So what beings are in those others? You might find a pixie there, so what you've never seen one here. Go star trek to the billions of galaxies, endless space, dimensions, then tell me if your beliefs change
@VarvaraBell Geez. Did you even watch this clip? No atheist asserts that "there is no god". As for science coming up short, well you obviously don't have a solid grasp on the usefulness of hypotheses and problem solving. When a theory is changed, or a hypothesis shown to be false, we are actually increasing our knowledge base. Even when science is wrong we better mankind. Get it? No, of course you don't.
@Pigroota Just revealed yourself, assume I don't get it, didn't watch, I study science. I wonder what you know about quantum physics? Want to see fear in a quantum physicist eyes, mention the measurement problem, I doubt you even know why it's important. One scientist said it looks as if the damn light is just waiting for us to look at it, and then deciding which way to travel and if it's particles or waves, Any measurement of the universe that always excludes you and consciousness is inacurate!
@VarvaraBell Who gives a shit about quantum physics? If you study 'science' (a very broad theme) then you should know what it means to hypothesise and further what we consider as knowledge. But instead you crap on about consciousness? Yeah, ok douchebag
@Pigroota Again you reveal your self and emotions which are not called for since I don't know you and this is just a thread, I never insulted you to begin with, but that's how you choose to start a dialouge with me. Yea a very broad theme, but then you kill your self by excluding consciousness, ok go do some science experiments and make measurements without it. Quantum physics, chemistry and more are all sciences that aim to explain life, reality and the universe. Feel sorry for you, BYE
@VarvaraBell You stated apparent disbelief in some scientific theories on the grounds that they are periodically modified...would you care to specifiy exactly which theories you are talking about? Please respond if you are referring to evolution because this is not something which can be disputed and there are numerous reasons...even EXCLUDING transitional fossils. This material evidence can be ignored, since there is no need to even mention fossils when confirming the theory of evolution.
@VarvaraBell Hell yeah, and we'll find transformers and santa claus and everything. So shit, lets drop any skeptiscim about everything and just accept as true anything that comes out of our mind, since we might find it somewhere in this endless space, seems like perfect reasoning to me
He was playing Matt and trying to win his argument and get Matt to say maybe you are right ,OMG there is a God!.When he could not his true Chistian nature came out.
What matters more is what you WOULD do if the provided data explained God - it seems to me that honest atheists would except the existence of God if the proof were provided - pending the provided definition is one NOT just created in the theists head to prove the point.
Please listen and understand that their must have been a God. If earth were much larger, hydrogen gas would not escape our atmosphere and our planet would be inhospitable to life. Clearly, someone “laid its cornerstone” in the right place. The sun, if it were to be raised by a degree or moved an inch closer to earth, life would be no more. The moon, the stars, and everything thing in the galaxy was made perfect. Think about it, their must have been a God out their who made all things and us.
Ok brothers and sisters please listen. The existence of God is too complex for anyone to understand. How can you explain the Big Bang Theory which you guys say started existence? You cant. You know why? Because its too complex. What atheists say these days is it just happened. Ok. I can say God just happened as well cant I? Oh wait never mind I cant because I dont have evidence to back it up. Well....... If I cant back up Gods existence nor the Big Bang Theory, lifes just a joke right?
There is lots of evidence for the possible existence of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, we exist, things exist the universe exists and those things are evidence that the FSM "might" of created all of them and "if" the FSM created them, then the FSM does exist.
Allah and Yahweh however have no "good" evidence to support that they might be real, all they have is people saying they might be real with no evidence that people would say Yes that is good evidence.
The fact that we exist isn't proof God created us. It's just proof that we exist. The "how can something come from nothing?" argument applies false chronology to the existence of the universe. The subject of time with respect to relativity is a very complicated subject and I suggest you study it before jumping to conclusions about the source of existence.
I'm relatively certain the "I'll punch your head in" dude was a different person. There was a distinct deepening and "southern-ing" of the voice at that part.
@OneManWolfPak --But all evidence for BF is faked, despite the claim that BF is a physical thing; God is pure spirit and has arguments such as the "First Cause" to point to his existence.
@WayOfTheMaster454 ..Hence my point, faked evidence for BF is better then ZERO evidence for god. "First cause" (all existence has a cause) is a fallacy, it creates an endless cycle backwards. IE god created the universe, who created god? Implying god always existed breaks the argument, why not just assume the universe always existed?
@WayOfTheMaster454 Umm…That the universe is ever expanding yet never changes its appearance due to the constant creation of matter? It's not unanimously accepted, many mainstream cosmologists continue to provide contradictive theories. We currently don’t have the mathematics capable of describing the pre universe (big bang) or the outer reaches of the universe where time itself bends into a separate dimension. I dont personally have an opinion, I am satisfied accepting reality, we dont know
A spirit is supernatural and therefor cannot affect the natural world and thus cannot exist in this world in any way shape or form, otherwise it would be natural. Plus if god existed, it would be natural for him to exist, otherwize it would be an artificial existance, which pure spirit falls under the catagory of.
This does not prove god doesnt exist, it just proves you are not defining god, again.
@MrKevMan -Nice equation, however, the word "supernatural" is merely used to describe something "out of the ordinary" not outside of matter. All matter is energy, this is scientific fact. Ghosts exist between both the invisible and visible world and cause natural phenomena to occur within the physical world. Athiests don't believe in ghosts, even though science is used to find them and the world is riddled with them.
If you don't believe in ghosts, you will when you become one:)
I don't think he understands the diff. between absolute certainty & practical knowlegde. when he got to that point he was stumped....so he went HIill billy mode.
I like how composed they both were during the discussion. I think the host (I don't know his name) should try to be more composed like this in his other videos; it would make the theists more open to really thinking about it.
You cannot win an argument with these people. They use logic and science as a foundation. The callers use there brainwashed ignorance and fairy tales to debate. Its just not fair. This show is funny though.,
@Arteanor Amen to that, that's why there are so many christians out there having premarital sex. Outside of church they're the biggest freaks. And I laugh when I see pornstar chicks wearing Jesus crosses while getting the shit fucked out of them. As far as God goes I'd be by your side because considering if he is real, he'd have a lot to explain, although I don't think he could. Even if God was real, I could never bring myself to worship such a big king fuck face faggot bitch like him!!!
wow can't believe that people actually can speak that way about God. There are many atheists out there who have turned to believe in God.I really hope that you guys repent and accept Jesus as your Lord and savior because this is sad. Like I always tell people, i would rather believe that there is a God and Jesus truly died for ALL our sins and be proven wrong when I die than to not believe and be proven wrong and end up in Hell.I pray that all you

@Joe81306 Ah Pascals wager, let me ask you this, what if Atheists are wrong but you are as well. You do realize there's more than Christianity out there right?
Even then why would you want to spend eternity worshiping a being that killed millions upon millions of people including children? Even if God was real, something religion has yet to provide any reason to believe after thousands of years, I wouldn't worship such a monster.
@DarkBunnyLord God a monster?? If he was a monster, why would he send his only begotten son to suffer and die on the cross so we can have another chance at life?? That sounds more like love to me, not hate. When you say there is more than Christianity out there, well the other religions accept that there was a man named Jesus that was Crucified and resurrected, but they don't believe he is divine. Just from their acknowledgment of Jesus' death makes u realize that Christianity is special
@Joe81306 So apparently you ignored my continuation to this post. So your idea of love is like your father building a torture chamber in his basement and saying "because your cousin broke the rules and stayed up late watching tv I'm going to torture you for eternity in the basement... but wait, see instead I'll just kill your brother, all you have to do is accept it and praise me, aren't I wonderful?"
As for Jesus, you must be joking, try telling that to a Jew or Muslim sometime.
@DarkBunnyLord Why do we have prisons?? To punish people that do wrong. God did not create Hell for people, it was for Satan and his demons.Jesus, who WILLINGLY, died for our sins did so in order for us to have a chance to repent and be saved, but some people refuse to believe that and that is why they cannot be saved.Jesus does not know those who do not come to him.Would u allow a stranger in your house??that's why God does not allow people he does not know into his Kingdom
@Joe81306 Bullshit. The bible claims he knows everything that has and will happen (the ability to make prophecy proves this as a claimed attribute), this would mean he KNEW that he would be sending people to hell before he even created it.
Next, yes he died to relieve us of ORIGINAL sin, something we never even did. Also bullshit they can't be saved because of that, God is God, if he's all powerful accepting Gods blood sacrifice of himself to himself shouldn't matter, why not just forgive.
@Joe81306 (cont) Also your little bit there at the end is horrible. How are things he created with full knowledge of what they'd do depending on how, when, and where he created them make them strangers? You can't call this monster all loving or just and then have him through ANYONE into eternal torture especially when it's for finite crimes.
The fact that God would willingly punish someone for an eternity for being skeptical DESPITE if they where good people are not makes him a monster.
@Joe81306 (Cont) On top of this I have no idea why on earth you would be grateful to God/Jesus (who claim to be the same being) because in the end he's saving you from what? Him.
He made the punishment, the rules for the punishment, etc. On top of this he starts off by blaming everyone for something they didn't do (original sin).
It's like if we where on a boat then I pushed you overboard and threw you a life saver, would you praise me for saving you?
@grayziehobbes I don't see how anyone could possibly deny the existence of God given how complicated human beings are..Even if you believe in the evolution theory, why is it that we are able to have so many feelings and are so complex??If you people just sit there and really think, you would come to the conclusion that there has to be a better explanation for our existence than the big bang theory and other scientific crap.God is real.I hope that you people's eyes are opened before its too late
1. Evolution claims things didn't start out complex. If I go to a cave and then hundreds of years later come back to it and there is a beautiful set of stalagmites why would I think it was created instead of looking at the obvious science that explains it.
2. You contradict yourself because if a complexity requires a creator then that creator must be more complex and by your own requirement that creator must require a creator and so on and so forth.
@DarkBunnyLord.One example my philosophy teacher gave for the existence of God was that If you walk past a wall that was blank and letter see the same wall with graffiti on it, you would assume that someone put it there right?? even though u were not there to see it. It didn't just show up out of nowhere, someone had to put it there. Science fails to tell us where the matter came from that "created us"..even if Big Bang Theory were true, it had to come from somewhere
@Joe81306 Again a horrible example. Yes we would assume someone put it there but only because we know what graphitti, letters, etc are.
Again you fail to adress your own contradiction, if everything "has" to come from somewhere then where does God come from?
Just because we don't have the answer to something doesn't mean you get to default to a made up fairy tale. People used to think the earth was flat, just because we didn't know it was round didn't mean it actually was flat.
@Joe81306 Not a valid example, because you can't assert that the Universe is the same as a graffiti. In your example, "somewhere" doesn't necessarily means "god".
@Joe81306 Why would I any more than I believe in leperchauns or unicorns, there's equal evidence for both and by that I mean 0 evidence.
So no, I don't believe in a random baseless claim that refuses to back itself up with anything more than the superstitions of people that didn't understand nearly as much about how the world works as a five year old does today.
@Joe81306 Why have you avoided asking if punishing anyone for eternity for a finite crime was just? Or why God required a blood sacrifice to forgive instead of being, as many claim him to be, loving?
@Joe81306 Ah I see, you have no good rational answer for all the atrocities god committed nor the utter injustice of saying that all men deserve eternal torture because another earlier ancestor ate an apple they weren't supposed to and you can't logically explain why God, who is supposedly all powerful, couldn't just forgive instead of demanding bloodshed so you run away with this excuse.
Lovely, good day you've proven my point that you're God is a monster =D
@Joe81306 Just as I thought. You'll pray for me, in the meantime I'll hope you decide to actually question the logic of your bible rather than waste your life on it. You can be a good productive member of society without this bronze age religion that hides it's shameful past with a message of cheer and good will.
@Joe81306 Human feelings are a mix of the mathematical logic in our brains plus our mammal instincts. Really, go read a pamplhet on psychology at least. Do yourself a favor.
@daviesman90 i pity your life. its not that we dont want to FACE god, we dont believe there is one lol, so how can we face something that we dont believe exists
The caller really came off as something of a psychopath. He is calm at the very beginning, and then in the twinkling of an eye, goes through this weird transformation at the end that leaves you wondering what the heck just happened.
This is one of the most rational callers I have heard call this show. He was patient and listened to the atheists responses. However wrong the caller was it doesn't change the fact that this is how a conversation should be formated. they had a really good convo it was easy to follow and I gained allot from it. Thanks Logical Understanding!
@Arteanor I saw the end :) . I just didn't want to acknowledge the idiocy of it. people love to try and prove you wrong but when they can't get an angle on you then tend to just get angry.
@mtszabo of course people actually have similair features and physical evidence for god we have one book written by the same group of people who wrote the texts about the now belived too be completely rediculous greek gods i would belive in big foot well before i belived in god
@mtszabo however what i meant too say is people have similair expiereces with a creature with similair features. However all the evidence we have for god is a ancient book written by the same people who wrote about the greecio roman gods and as a result i would belive in bigfoot well before i belive in god
Yes, I got what you meant. I just had to read it 6 times to determine where the periods were supposed to go. If the "16" in your name is an indication of your age, I understand that it's not "cool" to do everything the way you're supposed to do it. (You should have seen the way I typed on message boards back then.) But yes, your point did come across.
@mtszabo no the 16 is because in online gaming i usually go with it because m16 is my favorite rifle (would have gone with M16A4M203 but thats too wordy) and just lonewolf is usually taken however i tend too type fast and not use proper grammer as it is not really a form of communication in which grammer is standard and most english teachers (at least the ones i have had) confirm this
It seems to boil down to threats as a last resort one way or another. The threat of going to hell, the threat of visiting actual violence, the threat of losing one's job or social support... @twistedH3L1X I wasn't insulting you, I was trying to break through the ambiguity of your statement so we can actually begin to have a healthy dialogue.
Hanahleia 1 month ago
@Hanahleia We embrace this "theoretical science" because this science, which you obviously know nothing about, gives us demonstrable evidences to support our theories. Btw, a theory is something which can be backed by demonstrable evidence. Personal experiences and old books, well, these are subjective and can be interpreted differently from person to person. Which explains the 34,000+ denominations of Christianity.
atheistjacob 2 months ago
@atheistjacob Atheists are always hung up on 'demonstrable evidence,' which is why I'd urge any atheist to read Alan Watts, take up one of Terence McKenna's recommendations, listen to what Graham Hancock's raving about, or hear what Robert Anton Wilson thinks of 'demonstrable evidence.' What I mean by "higher consciousness" is probably more closely tied with quantum physics, in which it is nearly impossible, if impossible to have any "demonstrable" evidence as we traditionally accept it.
Hanahleia 2 months ago
@Hanahleia
How much more "demonstrable" do you want?
pseudorandomly 2 months ago
@Hanahleia
Accepting your challenge, I looked up Terence McKenna. Thanks, but I'll side with demonstrable evidence over hallucinogenic drug-induced babbling any day of the week. Show me some tangible, observable, testable, and reproducible evidence, and I'll listen to what you have to say. Altered brain chemistry is not a pathway to truth.
pseudorandomly 2 months ago
@pseudorandomly What I meant by take up Terence McKenna's recommendation is to actually have the experience with the dose ranges he recommended, which is very different from listening to him speak. Yes, it sounds like babble to you now, because you haven't had this colossal altered state of consciousness, so you have nowhere in your mind to relate to it in order to understand it. And your reference to QM is only the very low spectrum of QM of which our very limited instrumentality can measure.
Hanahleia 2 months ago
@pseudorandomly I'll just suggest that you Google something like DMT or take a peak at Rick Strassman's book on DMT, research a phenomenon like "ego death" or "cosmic consciousness." Terence only pointed to a phenomenon that could potentially happen to anyone's consciousnesss, it's up to you to take the courageous dose that he spoke about, just be sure you prepare yourself by informing yourself about what you're really getting into. Then, judge for yourself.

He created us and knows what we are capable of so why leave nothing physical behind to prove he exists (bible was written by man)?
evilkarma2122 10 months ago
So when in the Quran it says "We've preserved pharoah's body so that it will be sign for us", given that pharoah's body was discovered recently and that this was written 1400 years ago...it leads me to believe a lot of people are foolish to not heed this. The reason you cannot prove God exists, is because God exists where time does not. He cannot be comprehended in the sense that you can apply physics and prove it. We also have a Book which stood the test of time. Now read the book and learn.

You cant. Oh wait never mind I cant because I dont have evidence to back it up. Well....... If I cant back up Gods existence nor the Big Bang Theory, lifes just a joke right?
MrRamstein777 11 months ago
@perfectshot77
Just a bit of fun.

The fact that we exist isn't proof God created us. It's just proof that we exist. The "how can something come from nothing?" argument applies false chronology to the existence of the universe. The subject of time with respect to relativity is a very complicated subject and I suggest you study it before jumping to conclusions about the source of existence.

WayOfTheMaster454 1 year ago
@WayOfTheMaster454 ..Hence my point, faked evidence for BF is better then ZERO evidence for god. "First cause" (all existence has a cause) is a fallacy, it creates an endless cycle backwards. IE god created the universe, who created god? Implying god always existed breaks the argument, why not just assume the universe always existed?
OneManWolfPak 1 year ago
@OneManWolfPak --Dont most or all astronomers reject the steady state idea of the universe?
WayOfTheMaster454 1 year ago
@WayOfTheMaster454 Umm…That the universe is ever expanding yet never changes its appearance due to the constant creation of matter? It's not unanimously accepted, many mainstream cosmologists continue to provide contradictive theories. We currently don’t have the mathematics capable of describing the pre universe (big bang) or the outer reaches of the universe where time itself bends into a separate dimension. I dont personally have an opinion, I am satisfied accepting reality, we dont know
OneManWolfPak 1 year ago
@WayOfTheMaster454
Pure spirit?
Spirit = nothing
God is pure nothing. I agree.
MrKevMan 1 year ago
@MrKevMan -Nice equation, however, the word "supernatural" is merely used to describe something "out of the ordinary" not outside of matter. All matter is energy, this is scientific fact. Ghosts exist between both the invisible and visible world and cause natural phenomena to occur within the physical world. Athiests don't believe in ghosts, even though science is used to find them and the world is riddled with them.
If you don't believe in ghosts, you will when you become one:)

DarkBunnyLord 9 months ago
@DarkBunnyLord God a monster?? If he was a monster, why would he send his only begotten son to suffer and die on the cross so we can have another chance at life?? That sounds more like love to me, not hate. When you say there is more than Christianity out there, well the other religions accept that there was a man named Jesus that was Crucified and resurrected, but they don't believe he is divine. Just from their acknowledgment of Jesus' death makes u realize that Christianity is special
Joe81306 9 months ago
@Joe81306 So apparently you ignored my continuation to this post. So your idea of love is like your father building a torture chamber in his basement and saying "because your cousin broke the rules and stayed up late watching tv I'm going to torture you for eternity in the basement... but wait, see instead I'll just kill your brother, all you have to do is accept it and praise me, aren't I wonderful?"
As for Jesus, you must be joking, try telling that to a Jew or Muslim sometime.
DarkBunnyLord 9 months ago
@DarkBunnyLord Why do we have prisons?? To punish people that do wrong. God did not create Hell for people, it was for Satan and his demons.Jesus, who WILLINGLY, died for our sins did so in order for us to have a chance to repent and be saved, but some people refuse to believe that and that is why they cannot be saved.Jesus does not know those who do not come to him.Would u allow a stranger in your house??that's why God does not allow people he does not know into his Kingdom
Joe81306 9 months ago
@Joe81306 Bullshit. The bible claims he knows everything that has and will happen (the ability to make prophecy proves this as a claimed attribute), this would mean he KNEW that he would be sending people to hell before he even created it.
Next, yes he died to relieve us of ORIGINAL sin, something we never even did. Also bullshit they can't be saved because of that, God is God, if he's all powerful accepting Gods blood sacrifice of himself to himself shouldn't matter, why not just forgive.
DarkBunnyLord 9 months ago
@Joe81306 (cont) Also your little bit there at the end is horrible. How are things he created with full knowledge of what they'd do depending on how, when, and where he created them make them strangers? You can't call this monster all loving or just and then have him through ANYONE into eternal torture especially when it's for finite crimes.
The fact that God would willingly punish someone for an eternity for being skeptical DESPITE if they where good people are not makes him a monster.
DarkBunnyLord 9 months ago
@Joe81306 (Cont) On top of this I have no idea why on earth you would be grateful to God/Jesus (who claim to be the same being) because in the end he's saving you from what? Him.
He made the punishment, the rules for the punishment, etc. On top of this he starts off by blaming everyone for something they didn't do (original sin).
It's like if we where on a boat then I pushed you overboard and threw you a life saver, would you praise me for saving you?
DarkBunnyLord 9 months ago
@Joe81306 What about all the other gods. Why don't you believe in every god ever invented to hedge you obvious bets. You fail. Now grow up.
grayziehobbes 9 months ago
@grayziehobbes I don't see how anyone could possibly deny the existence of God given how complicated human beings are..Even if you believe in the evolution theory, why is it that we are able to have so many feelings and are so complex??If you people just sit there and really think, you would come to the conclusion that there has to be a better explanation for our existence than the big bang theory and other scientific crap.God is real.I hope that you people's eyes are opened before its too late
Joe81306 9 months ago
@Joe81306 Nice contradiction.
DarkBunnyLord 9 months ago
@DarkBunnyLord.One example my philosophy teacher gave for the existence of God was that If you walk past a wall that was blank and letter see the same wall with graffiti on it, you would assume that someone put it there right?? even though u were not there to see it. It didn't just show up out of nowhere, someone had to put it there. Science fails to tell us where the matter came from that "created us"..even if Big Bang Theory were true, it had to come from somewhere
Joe81306 9 months ago
@Joe81306 Again a horrible example. Yes we would assume someone put it there but only because we know what graphitti, letters, etc are.
Again you fail to adress your own contradiction, if everything "has" to come from somewhere then where does God come from?
Just because we don't have the answer to something doesn't mean you get to default to a made up fairy tale. People used to think the earth was flat, just because we didn't know it was round didn't mean it actually was flat.
DarkBunnyLord 9 months ago
@Joe81306 Not a valid example, because you can't assert that the Universe is the same as a graffiti. In your example, "somewhere" doesn't necessarily means "god".

@DarkBunnyLord I will pray for you, that's all
Joe81306 9 months ago
@Joe81306 Just as I thought. You'll pray for me, in the meantime I'll hope you decide to actually question the logic of your bible rather than waste your life on it. You can be a good productive member of society without this bronze age religion that hides it's shameful past with a message of cheer and good will.

@Joe81306 Human feelings are a mix of the mathematical logic in our brains plus our mammal instincts. Really, go read a pamplhet on psychology at least. Do yourself a favor.

@LesPaul2006 do yourself a favor and stop believing everything can be explained by science

@dubbys
seems you missed the end of the video...
i do give him credit.. he did a great job appearing to be interested in logically discussing the topic...

@Arteanor I saw the end :) . I just didn't want to acknowledge the idiocy of it. people love to try and prove you wrong but when they can't get an angle on you then tend to just get angry.

Personally, I think there's more evidence for Bigfoot than there is for God.
mtszabo 1 year ago 23
@mtszabo of course people actually have similair features and physical evidence for god we have one book written by the same group of people who wrote the texts about the now belived too be completely rediculous greek gods i would belive in big foot well before i belived in god

@lonewolfM16
Agreed; however, there is something to be said for punctuation...
mtszabo 1 year ago
@mtszabo my apologys but youtube is not exactly the place for proper pucuation
lonewolfM16 1 year ago
@mtszabo however what i meant too say is people have similair expiereces with a creature with similair features. However all the evidence we have for god is a ancient book written by the same people who wrote about the greecio roman gods and as a result i would belive in bigfoot well before i belive in god

@lonewolfM16
Yes, I got what you meant. I just had to read it 6 times to determine where the periods were supposed to go. If the "16" in your name is an indication of your age, I understand that it's not "cool" to do everything the way you're supposed to do it. (You should have seen the way I typed on message boards back then.) But yes, your point did come across.
mtszabo 1 year ago
@mtszabo no the 16 is because in online gaming i usually go with it because m16 is my favorite rifle (would have gone with M16A4M203 but thats too wordy) and just lonewolf is usually taken however i tend too type fast and not use proper grammer as it is not really a form of communication in which grammer is standard and most english teachers (at least the ones i have had) confirm this
