:( I'm sorry about Shming, he was so cute but I know he lived a happy life because it looks like you cared for him with lots of love. I know how it feels to loose a pet you love, its like loosing a member of the family. I know this because our hamster teddy died 3 years ago, I was sad and it took awhile to get over because she was like a member of the family, but I still miss her. I also liked the name you gave your hedgehog too Shming is a very cute name.

Anointing is when they find something that smells or tastes new or interesting and they lick it, foam up the saliva, and wipe it off onto their spines. (^-^)
