  • Do you recommend a 4 or 5 string banjo?

  • @MrValovinorovich 5 string. A 4 string is a completely different animal. If you play fiddle or mandolin you'll be familiar with the tuning of a 4 string, but a 5 string is radically different than that..

  • I've come to appreciate all of your banjo videos, playing and instructional. Unfortunately, the instructional ones take me just far enough to want more. Could you recommend an instructional DVD set for clawhammer style? Again, love your playing and please keep posting.

  • @1bguyl Actually no I couldn't because I don't know of any, but I do know there's a bunch of free lessons here on youtube. I'd scope all those out first..

  • When I heard this, I just had to pull out my violin and start playing right away! This is one of the best renditions I have heard in a while.
