This is so awesome - but which Yamato toy/model would you recommend for my childish need to have a ship that I can wave around with my hand while making "whoosh" sounds? (If the ship can make the sounds itself, that'd be epic)
Several years ago I kicked ass on the 1/350 scale Tamiya Yamato model kit. The Yamato and Musashi were my favorite battleships of all time even though they never saw significant action in the war. Thats why I was such a huge Star Blazers fan as a kid. Yesterday I found my Soul of Chogokin Yamato on Ebay for $260 tax and shipping! Its gonna look awesome next to my period piece!!
I use to have small scale model of the Yamato when Star Blazers was aired in the US back in the late 70s, I even had Deslock's Flag Ship, several Gamelon Ships, the Andromeda and several Comet Empire Ships....man I miss those models, it was fun having my own version of Star Blazers.
If you mean the toy having been done before, there was an earlier release about 4-5 years ago that have the same light and sounds, but no remote or music clips. The stand was also a bit more basic and didn't adjust for the different flight poses.
I've had mine since they came out and have loved it. I'd really like to have this version, but for the money I'm really happy with the one I have.
Really beautifull model.Brings back memories.

Does the ship itsslf have any speakers? Or does the remote just control the sounds though the stand and the lights through the ship?
