I think Nadine's solo album flopped because she's not the most popular member of the group, Cheryl is. Also, while Nadine's voice is amazing, the songs that were given to her (or co-wrote) for her solo album weren't very good. Cheryl's was released around the same time as Nadine's, which most likely negatively affected Nadine's sales. It's really a shame that this happened since Nadine's voice is stronger than Cheryl's is. But I guess talent isn't as important as it used to be.
