I disagree. I thought Ryan showed great respect for Duvall. He didn't hide his laughing at Duvall's gruff remarks; some of the others were doing that behind his back, seemingly. I think Franco seemed hostile towards almost everybody. Mark just thought everyone was hysterical, for some reason. I imagine no one was really being themselves; they knew their reactions to eachother were being closely filmed. Must have been uncomfortable.
Wish the moderator would shut up and let the actors interact more. He keeps cutting people off. Whats the point in having them all in one room otherwise?!

Duvall looks so impressed by Ryan (love). It's nice to see a vet appreciate the company of a young actor. Ruffalo is charming. Franco (love him) scared the shit out of me with the loud talking. Jesse was so nervous, but spoke well enough. He'll hopefully get over that. Firth is swagger in a collared shirt!
I love that they put all these incredible actors around the same table!
And I love all the references to Brando, Eleonora Duse and even Giovanni Grasso that Robert Duvall does. it really shows you he knows the history of his job and loves it even after all these years.

David wants to see different ways that you can deliver a single line and he tends to do 50 takes to get that. In those 50 takes, he would of choose one. But that doesn't mean it took Jesse 50 takes to perfect it. It just mean that this David Fincher's method of directing a film.

I wish life was less demanding and more easy to be able to choose different things you want to do. I really want to pursue music and go to college for it and everything, but I'm also so interested in film/acting and the art of it, I love watching interviews and behind the scenes and what not. I couldn't possibly be able to try to do both at once and expect to succeed. And they're not even promising career paths. Maybe I could pull of a Justin Timberlake thing...

I love James Franco's mind. He's such a realist. Franco & Ruffalo seem to come to Jesse's defense around 44:50. Robert Duvall seemed to take over the entire conversation for the majority of the time. He is the most experienced actor there and probably has a lot to say because of that, but he comes across cocky at times. I can't decide if that's deserved and we're privileged to hear it or if it's just annoying. Maybe it's both.
After Jesse made the comment about the director doing about 100 takes, it seemed like everyone was being snarky and saying back-handed things seemingly to tear down everything he'd said. They were all laughing at him at one point too. You'd think they'd be a little more decent towards a fellow actor, especially someone so young who's just starting out with the more mainstream movies. He's being thrust into the public eye, why no companionship from his fellow actors?
Man, the interviewer is actually good. The thing is actors don't really like talking about their career and the way they approach acting and so on. But I'm not blaiming them. It's a hard job, to interview actors.
This moderator is unprofessional. He keeps digging for dirt and trying to force them to say things that would be disrespectful and unprofessional. You can see his quote mining alienating the actors, particularly Colin Firth. I've seen roundtables conducted much better.
Christ that British interviewer starts poorly and then becomes absolutely intolerable. He invests too much of his ego into his questions and seems unable to articulate half of his questions in an understandable manner. Most of the actors laugh at him after every question, and then the point of their answers goes over his head - 3 or 4 times noted by his digging responses. Gosling even had to completely pick at his own answer to get this retard to understand what he meant.
I have to agree that the interviewer was lacking something because you have gathered a bunch of men that are really different and bound to clash it is up to him to keep it going and gel. Jesse is awkward in certain social situations and this is one of them so I feel he was nervous. I also feel most of these questions were directed to Robert too because how can someone recollect on their on these giant question when they havent really lived yet.
all these actors are amazing and talented but i feel like if jesse eisenberg was on this roundtable then shia labeouf or denzel washington should of been on here as well. just saying.

I wish life was less demanding and more easy to be able to choose different things you want to do. I really want to pursue music and go to college for it and everything, but I'm also so interested in film/acting and the art of it, I love watching interviews and behind the scenes and what not. I couldn't possibly be able to try to do both at once and expect to succeed. And they're not even promising career paths. Maybe I could pull of a Justin Timberlake thing...

I love James Franco's mind. He's such a realist. Franco & Ruffalo seem to come to Jesse's defense around 44:50. Robert Duvall seemed to take over the entire conversation for the majority of the time. He is the most experienced actor there and probably has a lot to say because of that, but he comes across cocky at times. I can't decide if that's deserved and we're privileged to hear it or if it's just annoying. Maybe it's both.

After Jesse made the comment about the director doing about 100 takes, it seemed like everyone was being snarky and saying back-handed things seemingly to tear down everything he'd said. They were all laughing at him at one point too. You'd think they'd be a little more decent towards a fellow actor, especially someone so young who's just starting out with the more mainstream movies. He's being thrust into the public eye, why no companionship from his fellow actors?

Man, the interviewer is actually good. The thing is actors don't really like talking about their career and the way they approach acting and so on. But I'm not blaiming them. It's a hard job, to interview actors.

This moderator is unprofessional. He keeps digging for dirt and trying to force them to say things that would be disrespectful and unprofessional. You can see his quote mining alienating the actors, particularly Colin Firth. I've seen roundtables conducted much better.

Christ that British interviewer starts poorly and then becomes absolutely intolerable. He invests too much of his ego into his questions and seems unable to articulate half of his questions in an understandable manner. Most of the actors laugh at him after every question, and then the point of their answers goes over his head - 3 or 4 times noted by his digging responses. Gosling even had to completely pick at his own answer to get this retard to understand what he meant.

I have to agree that the interviewer was lacking something because you have gathered a bunch of men that are really different and bound to clash it is up to him to keep it going and gel. Jesse is awkward in certain social situations and this is one of them so I feel he was nervous. I also feel most of these questions were directed to Robert too because how can someone recollect on their on these giant question when they havent really lived yet.
