I think this is literally the greatest remix/cover I've ever heard. I am absolutely blown away by it.

I love how some of the string phrases almost sound like they've found their way in from a different song. They fit length/rhythm-wise, they just feel like they're in the 'wrong key', and it's brilliantly surprising.

I like it don't get me wrong and it's very pretty...but I think I like the original better.

The violin/other side parts are really distracting and take away from the lyrics (though the piano is lovely) and the voices are raspy and distant.

Plus, I suppose I'm a sucker for the simplicity of the original version. This has so much going on you can't really think about what's going on.

Final Fantasy is an artist who remixed this song - his real name is Owen Pallett. This song is NOT related to the video game at all. Owen Pallett chose the name "Final Fantasy" because he's a fan of the video game series.

As you can tell, Owen Pallett remixed it with influences from the video game though.
