guess i m kinda lost...i meant daydream nation..kinda funny...well..the movie is sort of twisted ..it s about a love triangle...and it s a little bit psychological...but very very interesting and dramatic
I think this is literally the greatest remix/cover I've ever heard. I am absolutely blown away by it.
I love how some of the string phrases almost sound like they've found their way in from a different song. They fit length/rhythm-wise, they just feel like they're in the 'wrong key', and it's brilliantly surprising.
No, this is from the album Do You Trust Your Friends? Released in May of 2007, it's the first remix album released by Stars, comprised of covers and remixes from the 2004 album Set Yourself on Fire.
hmm..... i like this version.... but some parts should be dropped because it is out of hamorny with the voice - it sounds a kind of strange(in my mind). But I love the piano playing. it's fantastic.
so what is the final fantasy remix? like the game or movie? i am so confused? who the heck is final fantasy? is that like a bunch of people who make remixes?
@eyaluvz1234: final fantasy was the old name that owen pallett went by, previous to his latest record. he's ridiculously ace-- you should try him. totally.
@eyaluvz1234 This song was featured on a REMIX album by Stars, called "Do You Trust Your Friends?". The original version of the song by Stars is on their album, "Set Yourself On Fire".
Final Fantasy is an artist who remixed this song - his real name is Owen Pallett. This song is NOT related to the video game at all. Owen Pallett chose the name "Final Fantasy" because he's a fan of the video game series.
As you can tell, Owen Pallett remixed it with influences from the video game though.
i heard this version best on lastfm, which initially made me fall in love with Stars, but then when I listened to the album I was disappointed at first that it was not this version. i love the other version too, but its refreshing to hear this one
it also played on Underbelly razor recently, i orginially heard it from the O.C.. lol.

This song is a remix of the original by Final Fantasy. I dunno if you were told before, but you should go credit them!

hauntingly beautiful song. they played at the end of a criminal minds episode recently .

I'll agree! It is much more beautiful and poignant with just the piano and violin accompanying those evocative lyrics
Love it!

Does anyone know what is being shouted at about 15 seconds into the video?

@nelsonater2000 I always thought it was a child yelling "set yourself on fire"

I just don't like the background sounds from 1:27 - 1:31
Other than that,
I love this version.

@MrRobbieBurke I agree, they sound like interruptions that don't belong. They should have stuck with the elegant piano.

love the piano, and literally hate the violin bit.
rijamute 1 year ago
I like it don't get me wrong and it's very pretty...but I think I like the original better.
The violin/other side parts are really distracting and take away from the lyrics (though the piano is lovely) and the voices are raspy and distant.
Plus, I suppose I'm a sucker for the simplicity of the original version. This has so much going on you can't really think about what's going on.
marietehbee 1 year ago
This is pretty awesome, although I like the original version just a little bit better. The piano is gorgeous, though.
