You should delete the .minecraft folder and just redownload. Make sure you backup your saves folder though.

But, buy the game! It's so much better because you can play on many more multiplayer servers and... It's just awesome.

In this case, Minecraft doesn't release an API so people will use 3rd party API's in order to develop mods. So do you NEED the forge API? For certain mods, yes you do or else the code used to develop the mod won't work.

- delete meta-inf

- When you put the mod, be sure put it on the RIGHT PLACE(dont put the files in a forder)

- be sure you have install modloader/audiomod depend of the mod you install

- always, ALWAYS! be sure that the mod is to the right versoin of your minecraft!!! almost sure that this is the cause of black screen! (don't forget that one because i had back screen because i didn't respect that)
