  • 64 people bought AMD :D

  • very informative video. thanks.

  • really interesting. I have never heard about the itanium chipset before.

  • even though this video seems old!! it is amazing! thankz alot 2 U!

  • @bslgeorge Technology will soon in a different perspective in the coming years. We look at computers now in away like we look at a car where whose goes faster. Future generations will see it in a different way because the computing is going to leave the box and soon everybody's interface to the digital will all be the same experience because massive networks are now allowing computers to share information so fast that an entire computer worth data can be transported in the blink of an eye.

  • Can Pentium 75 Mhz go heatsinkless?

  • how come the first intel prossesors had a i infront of them and it is the same with their latest prosserors? is time repeating itself?

  • reminds me of portal 2 music

  • @davejoshmom1 Other*

  • @davejoshmom1 If technology became stagnate then how would we progress in order things?

  • @wootness3000 I see where he is coming from as big corporate businesses like PC world tell people they need a core I7 to do gaming yet my old core 2 quad is core than capable.

  • 1:54 I have a Pentium 4 processor!Running at 1.8Ghz and it is really hot!

  • I still have (really thick) laptop with i386 33Mhz CPU which was my father's. The laptop was about $6000 that time.

  • 0:35 i have one!!!

  • Is there any difference to buy the same processor but one made in china and the other in USA?

  • Best background music on a YouTube vid EVER!!!

  • i'm kinda surprise that some poeple still prefer higher clock rate are better...it's all about fp(floating point, flops) performance and ipc(instruction per cycle) and cache latency/speed, brench prediction and register datapath size/APU performance/ efficiency of integer unit and stage pipeline. uops decoder miss rate...etc p4 3.8ghz was smash by core 1 solo 1.2ghz(not even close to 50% of c2d in single thread performance per clock) not to mention the later cpu...clock rate don't mean anything

  • You guys really should stop flaming bslgeorge. Can't you guys get his sarcasm?? Dumb asses..

  • @wwyk1993 some people just don't realize if they got trolled

  • my laptop (4 years old) runs Pentium M @ 1.73 GHz and 2 MB L2 cache

  • @ejzllanes96

my laptop 9 years old has a single core p4 @ 2.8 Ghz

  • Really good video

  • My father had a 3,000$ pc with e pentium 75. I think he ran doom on it :p

  • @bslgeorge ehh 3.8ghz with 150million transistors vs 3.4ghz with 1billion transistors in the new core i7's

  • Never heard of Intel itanium. Oh well it's old now :D

  • @bslgeorge ghz doesnt mean everything...shure it means "speed" in technical terms but....like wootness said...a 980X at even 1 ghz compared to a pentium 4 HT EE at 5 ghz....the 980x would still win.....pentiums only got 1 core...2 with HT...980x has 6 cores...12 with HT

  • my computer stops at 1:55 lol, but can play left 4 dead 2 at 30fps on med settings!

  • Core i7 at factory clock pwns any overclocked single-core processor

  • @bslgeorge higher clock speed=higher temperatures=usually higher consumption of energy... regardless of the processor, few programs will ever need more than 3.5Ghz in a single core to run... multi-cores and large cache memory is the new thing.

  • New architectures have better IPC (Instructions Per Clock/Cycle). Higher clock frequencies are problematic since the problem is energy consumption and heat dissipation. It's very difficult to go beyond 4 GHz with current technologies and have reasonable power budget (and cooling). It makes more sense to do more in parallel; it is cheap and efficient. Most of the heavy workload is parallel anyway, so it's all mostly good.

  • i have pentium dual core inside 1,46 ghz and its slow like snail

  • I have a pentium 4 HT @ 2,8 ghz.

I can play more than solitaire on this shit! \m/

  • I have pentium 4.

    Old PIECE OF SHIT!!

  • @DarknessGal101 haha, my p4 runs great & it is better than my new core 2 duo (laptop)

  • I remember Pentium 4 HT was hot back when I was a kid. The sad part is that many public schools still have medieval technology like that today. I memorized what the HT stands for: Hyper Threading.

  • i got a new laptop last year in june and it had a celeron d 1.2 ghz with 2 gb ram and it somehow runs windows 7

  • Jees Xeon 16mb cache!

  • Damn, people. There is more to processors than just clock speed. A *whole* lot more.

Basically, newer stuff = better technology = better performance.

  • @halo45121 newer stuff = better technology = better performance = software that wastes most of that performance = dumber users

  • @bslgeorge 3.8GHz single core compared to 3.33GHz (that can be overclocked to well over 4GHz) 4-core and hyper-threaded with a QPI link instead of a front-side bus, DDR3 chipsets, multiple memory lanes, SATA3, USB3, PCIe x16 3.0, and more. Compare a 3.8GHz Pentium 4 HT EE to a 980X EE it would get smashed in everyway.

  • @wootness3000 Also, the pipeline: A single-core PV-M (Pentium M) at 2 GHz would beat a 3 GHz HT. And a 673 MHz PV-M would beat a 1695 MHz P-IV Celeron.

  • @wootness3000 holy shit, no idea what that means

  • @wootness3000 wtf did you just say? lol

  • well some average joe have no idea about computing architecture.... netburst is shit architecture and poor fp performance(lack of x87/mmx and poor support of sse)/only one decoder/ no prefetching unit/predecoder and bad brenchs/ only able to issue 2 instruction wide/ tiny dartapath(16bit x4 compare to "pentium III "p6's 64bit and c2d's 128bit x4). small cache(8kb l1 vs 64kb l1 of c2d) and many of bad feature.....however it's amazing that such terrible thing can capable competed with amd....

  • INTEL PENTIUM 4 3.8GHZ FAST!??!?!??!?!

  • @bobctx Yes it is fast for stock clock speed, but modern processors (multicore/hyperthreading) are based on parallel computing; more hands make light work. And can you imagine how much heat a Netburst CPU running at 3.8 GHz would put out?!

  • 47 persons use amd

  • Xeon is the best.

  • my DX 400 was the bomb in the day. and at the time ihade the fastes CPU lol

  • 1:32 made from the philippines!!

  • intel in it.

  • Hey Wootness3000 Nice Jobs I have INTEL CORE QUAD Q6600 JUMP 2400 MHZ CLOCK

  • Core 2 Duo E8X00 Wolfdale Best 775 Processor ever made <3

  • I but a used PC from a computer shop today. 700 MHz Pentium 3

  • @LittleMisterRumpus /facepalm

  • omg i486 Vs i7 :)

  • i got a damn i3...it's the wrong cpu for high end gamers...i will replace it soon with the i7 980 extreme....that's a good one

  • @deienache Just pay $700.00 less and get the new Sandy Bridge i7

  • I have an Intel Pentium M 1.73 GHz. Originally have 256 MB RAM which is F**** slow! We added 1 GB and it runs fast now, a total 1.25 GB! Computer is Acer TravelMate 2428

  • i got pentium 4 extreme edition with 2 gb of ram lol

  • i have a bullshit intel atom 1.6 GHz 1gb ram i need an upgrade

  • @AlbertCoates1997 If that's a Netbook computer with XP in it, just replace or add RAM. If its 7, your on your own.

  • I have an AMD phenom II processor :)

  • INTEL CORE SOLO SUCKS!

  • I have intel core duo 2 and on my laptop intel centrino duo

  • i have intel pentium 4 3,2ghz

    3gb ram

    nvidia geforce 9800gt 512mb ram

    xp/win7

  • i have pentium 4.

  • i have pentium 4 right now!

  • i have celeron D S

  • Love the music. Not very fond of the processors (everyone knows IBM is the only way to go ;) )

  • i have Pentium M 1.6 Ghz and Pentium 4 2.99 Ghz :P

  • I had celeron on my XP computer.

  • what is the name of the song

  • @luchinil Alexander Perls - Maximalist

  • @wootness3000 i was going to ask. love this music.

  • thanks for such a informative video

  • intel core solo SUCKS!

  • this cumputer runs off of the 2.83 Ghz Quad-Core

  • At one point i found a broken i386 or i486, i was able to get it to boot and run Wolfenstien * before it was finally retired. Still have a old Intel pentium (non-MMX) at 75 mhz laptop used as a mini travel "dvd" player, using light avi files and a special media player that allows the gfx card to play the video. The old proc still has a use today ^^ just wish the laptop manufacture put a better gfx card in there, its the only thing holding it back. Even the battery still works o.o

  • HE REMEMBERED CELERON!

  • круто! жалко, моего процессора тут нету?

  • did you sell you channel or something? All you old videos are gone?

  • i've got that HUGE pentuim II chip and damnit i miss the computers with the pentuims i still got a laptop with one they could survive anything.

  • i like the i7 i5 and i3

  • I never heard of Itanium before this video

  • the oldest cpu iv'e used is an intel mmx at 166mhz

  • I use Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 @ 2.50GHz with Windows Vista now and my first CPU is Intel Celeron @ 2.95 GHz with Windows XP

  • i reamber my friends all had pentium ll on their gaming rigs to play pc games. old times

  • oh damn how you get more than 4 GB of RAM man?

  • @maidy86 You buy them in kits, up to 24GB (sometimes more). You have to have a chipset capable of supporting the RAM, and you must buy the correct specification of RAM.

  • @maidy86 LOL. you dont deserve more than 4gb.

  • mann i still love my p4 i would do anythinng for stock a 3.4

  • @ZL3RAD My server has a 3.6 HT. ;)

  • @wootness3000 I watching your vid on a P4 3.73Ghz OC to 4.0Ghz XD.

  • @ZL3RAD I still have one!

  • funny thing is those 12 MHz processors are probs worth more than a 3GHz processor by now

  • im still using the pentium4 ht @3ghz. it runs windows 7 ultimate 32bit without any problems, it's a shame i didn't get the extreme edition back then.

ow and the itanium platform was, and will always be a joke.

  • so i have Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 and its very awesome :)

  • intel xeon ftw

    i love intel xeon

  • intel xeon ftw

  • wow, after this video, i googled and found out that some of the intel chipsets are made in malaysia :D (my country)

  • @mnsbmsrulez

yup, intel and amd use malaysia, mexico, singapore, taiwan, and germany to either manufacture or diffuse their processors. as far as i'm aware, countries like japan and china aren't used at all. i think its nice to know that these companies don't just use the industry standard locations to make something

  • malay 1st!! XD

  • i have intel core 2 quad and a good pc :) what is the music's name???

  • I dont like AMD. I think the intel is stronger. i have intel core 2 quad and a good pc :) and what is the music's name??

  • heres all of the intel processors i own:

    486 DX2

    pentium 1

    3 pentium 3s

    2 celerons

    core 2 duo

    core i5

i got other pcs but some of them are not intel (AMD, cyrix, power pc ,motorola

    :P

  • He have done his home work.

  • you left out pentium d and v//v

  • @roozie11 Pentium D is the same as Pentium Dual-Core, and Viiv isn't a processor, it's a chipset package.

  • pentium was the shit back in the day

  • Could anyone expain me what is cache and why is it important?

I'm going to buy an dual-core processor for my second PC, that has 3 GHz and 1 MB cache per core.

Is it good? I thought I knew pretty much about PCs, but I have no idea what cache is.

  • @TheCoCkTa1l

The main memory cannot keep up with the speed of the processor, so a much faster cache memory is located on the processor's chip for fast access. Contents from the main memory are pre-fetched and placed into the cache to be ready for the processor.

  • i got the Pentium D at 2.8 Ghz

At school they got Pentium III and Pentium 4

On my Windows 98 i had Intel Celeron

But one question, can i overclock to the speed which it views in description

  • hello

i bought a intel dg41rq try to put a p4 3,4 ghz ht processor on but got no screen no bios

    only hardware start running

anyone knows where the problems is

  • i have the msi dual xeon 3.4ghz, with 4 gb of ddr2 pc3700U RAM, nvidia geforce 9600GT and x64 win7.

  • I am WAY more than happy with my Intel Pentium 4 processor in my desktop PC. It has 1.5GB of RAM, which perfectly suits my gaming needs (By gaming, I mean Sims 2). If you get a used PC with a Pentium 4, know it is a great processor. Screw AMD!

  • Right now I am typing this on an Atom N270 netbook, my primary PC has Pentium 4 2Ghz. My mom's computer has an AMD Athlon XP 1600+, My spare PC has a Pentium 4 1.8Ghz, and on my dad's day care (they use my other spare computer) has a Pentium 3 1Ghz.

  • Just ordered an hp lapop w/ intel dual core processor 2.3- 2.7 overclockable ghz I believe. Also has 4gb ram and vid card is 1gb ATI Radeon 5650. Is this decent? The reason I'm wondering cuz everyone says technology improves over time then why is the pentium extreme destroying the rest w/ 3ghz processor? Im just wondering cuz i dont know anything about computers and I wanna know if Ill be fine.

  • @ZrsOne If it's simple pentium dual core then maybe it will be not enough for HD 5650. But if it is overclockable it is fine. Still C2D or iX is preferred.

  • Just because the ghz is higher does not mean its better .qaud core would be the best.

  • @thereddog223 well and the cache size and the mbs + mhz

  • The P4 was a fken monster back then.

  • very cool!

  • intel best amd shitt!

  • @davejoshmom1 I find that P4 is the best.

  • Have many oif them still around, never ever let me down. Got 10 PCs parked in my house, oldest one is 486 DX66. A revelation at the time. Still playing Apogee DOS games on it. Love to Intel for enhancing my games life.

  • my specs for my Dell Inspiron 8500:

    Intel Pentium 4 Mobile 2.49Ghz

    80GB IBM Hard Drive

    Nvidia GeForce4 4200 Go 64MB Memory

    1.25GB RAM

    15.4" screen

    Windows Vista Home Basic SP2

  • me have intel i486sx celeron pentium mmx pentium 3

  • pentium 4 ht 3.20 GHZ 2gb ram

    512 mb vga nvidia

western digital wd caviar blue 300gb

    dvd rv drive 16x

    windows 7

    (me like xp)

    is good?

  • ah i remember my old pentium 4 2.4GHz with 256Mb RAM 30GB HDD and that big fat CRT t'was beautiful

  • Intel ROCKS!

  • Perfect 5/5*

  • How many more processors were created after this video?

  • Core i7: 2.66 - 3.33 GHz, 8 MB L3 cache

    Xeon (i7): 1.86 GHz - 3.33 GHz, 4-12 MB L3 cache

    Core i7 Extreme Edition: 2.0 - 3.33 GHz, 8-12 MB L3 cache

    Core i5: 2.26 - 3.46 GHz, 3-4 MB L3 cache

    Core i3: 2.93 - 3.06 GHz

  • Man 486 was the first computer brought home by my dad. I think I was even the first kid in my neighborhood to have a Pentium.

Why is there an AMD next to the 486?

  • My computer has a 12 mhz intel processor. So fast it's unbelievable..Rules all ! I can play crysis at the highest settings.

  • that is like .0012 Ghz. I Think you mean 12Ghz, the pcs from the 80s had 12Mhz Processors

  • I see intel decided to take the old i series, subtract a couple hunrded numbers, add some ghz and call it a i3/5/7. LOL

  • @telohun lol original xbox had 733MHz Plll

  • My PC has an Intel Core Duo,and it makes it super fast.

  • Duo? lol duo is going to be like pentium 2 in like a year dude FAIL

  • Intel Core i7 870 Processor - 2.93GHz, LGA 1156, 8MB L3 Cache, Quad-Core RULES!!!

  • OVERCLOCK IT!!

  • Comment removed

  • My preferred processor is the Pentium 2

  • My preferred processor is the Pentium 2

  • is an AMD athlon 64 processor good? its got a 2.20 GHz processor and 960 Mb RAM and thats alot of RAM

  • It's alright for basic computing. 960MB isn't a lot of RAM, and you have an integrated graphics card which means that you can't really game anyway. My computer has 6144MB of RAM.

  • @PokeChampion07 wtf in what world are u living

  • @PokeChampion07 that was good ten years ago mine still runs everything

  • @PokeChampion07 i dont like AMD .I thing the intel is stonger (i have intel core 2 quad)

  • you left out intel i7! >:(

  • No I didn't, the video was made over a year ago. That just HAPPENS TO BE BEFORE i7 WAS RELEASED.

  • ohhh sorry i didnt know i forgot to look at when this was posted

  • @PokeChampion07 lol umm maby becuase the video was made in 2008...

  • 1:52 i have one :)

  • my gaming pc has an intel i286@12MHz. It pwns every other gaming pc around!

  • I saw in my device manager two procesors Intel 4 3.20 GHz Should I remove one? I'm scared .... :))

  • yo tuve un intel 486 SX de 33mhz como ha cambiado esto de los procesadores jeje XD

  • i have a intel pentium 1 mobo and i put my amd k6 proccessor in to it ans the poor machine thought it was a 486 lol

  • i have a Pentium 4 with 3 ghz

but next year become i a 6 core AMD CPU

And intel has this next year not!!!

  • celeron... how does mine have a 2.4 ghrz non overclocked prosesor??

  • Because you have a Celeron D processor.

  • @wootness3000 yes man the intel pentium ///!

  • muy bueno el video en el momento me encuentro elaborando un video sobre el furo y me gustaría incorporar tu video con su autorización...

very good video at the moment I am preparing a video on the furo and I would like to incorporate your video with your permission

  • The Original 1st gen Pentiums actually started at 60 and 66MHz, but then their architecture got redesigned for 75-200MHz due to heat and power consumption.

  • i have the intel Pentium 4 with 3 GHz

But my favorit is the new AMD Pehnom 2 X4 965 Black Edition

  • That's not very new, lol.

  • The song in the vid is cool. I just converted the video and made it into a MP3 by zamzar. Now I have it on my iPod. =D

  • Comment removed

  • That's not a processor, that's a package. The Centrino Duo is a Intel Core Duo, or Core 2 Duo, with a power saving Intel chipset. Bitch.

  • you left out the intel 8086 but good vid tho =P

    P.S. song name?

  • intel sucks, intel likes monopoly and high price...

  • wheres the 4004?

  • Is that a home desktop processor?

  • Its the Extreme Quad core.

  • Whoa, 24MB of L3 cache on the Itanium!

  • PIII-S is missing.
