I don't see the need to actually use a tazer seeing how there were two male officers who obviously could of subdued her, but she was resisting arrest.
Did you notice how the tazer barely affects her? That's a sure sign of MS. The insulation on her nerve fiber has degraded to the point that signals don't simple don't travel along them, therefore it appears the tazer is largely ineffective on her. She's essentially battle the affect of the tazer every second of her life: lack of nerves propagating signals.
That was resisting arrest; if the police officer says to you "put your hands behind your back or you will get tazered" and you refuse, it is the officers legal obligation to do whatever is in his power to get you to comply, just because she is 55 does not make this a "brutal" crime, also she is not black. I will however admit this, the use of a tazer would not have been advised in this situation and the officers could have used other modes of persuasion/restraint before resorting to this.
I don't think cops are supposed to have to be trained clinical social workers or psychologists to diagnose individuals out of the DSM-IV. This woman resisted arrest, refused to cooperate, and did not do anything the cops asked her to. Was a taser necessary? Maybe a little overboard, they of taken her by force. I always see people handcuffed in these US videos. In my country (Austria) police would never do this. When you do not severly attack them, they don't have a right to put them on. Police is to obey us, not the other way round. They are here to help with traffic, not bully around.

Finally, they realized she wasn't 'drunk' and threw her into a mental health facility which quickly sent her home once they knew she had MS...a medical condition, NOT a psychiatric disorder! They did come back to the house later and actually tasered the little dog which had to have the barb removed from its paw by a Veterinerian...

Alright, I agree almost entirely with the video description. The cops did not need to taser this woman, she's old, they could've strong-armed her, and are adequately trained to do so. She did not, however, have any right whatsoever to be driving while she was that hammered. That being said, police brutallity is entirely too prevalent in modern society. Did you notice how the tazer barely affects her? That's a sure sign of MS. The insulation on her nerve fiber has degraded to the point that signals don't simple don't travel along them, therefore it appears the tazer is largely ineffective on her. That was resisting arrest; if the police officer says to you "put your hands behind your back or you will get tazered" and you refuse, it is the officers legal obligation to do whatever is in his power to get you to comply, just because she is 55 does not make this a "brutal" crime, also she is not black. I will however admit this, the use of a tazer would not have been advised in this situation and the officers could have used other modes of persuasion/restraint before resorting to this.

I don't think cops are supposed to have to be trained clinical social workers or psychologists to diagnose individuals out of the DSM-IV. This woman resisted arrest, refused to cooperate, and did not do anything the cops asked her to. Was a taser necessary? Maybe a little overboard, they of taken her by force. The whole situation would of been avoided if she would of cooperated.

Finally, they realized she wasn't 'drunk' and threw her into a mental health facility which quickly sent her home once they knew she had MS...a medical condition, NOT a psychiatric disorder! They did come back to the house later and actually tasered the little dog which had to have the barb removed from its paw by a Veterinerian...

Alright, I agree almost entirely with the video description. The cops did not need to taser this woman, she's old, they could've strong-armed her, and are adequately trained to do so. She did not, however, have any right whatsoever to be driving while she was that hammered. That being said, police brutallity is entirely too prevalent in modern society. We pay the police socially, and I believe we (the people) should have the right to decide when they go too far.

I've seen this in several videos, instead of taking a few minutes to reason with people to get them to follow orders the cops just instantly start yelling and then pull out the mace or the taser. I've seen other videos where the cops are much more tolerant and don't make the situation worse by acting like thugs.

The tone that these deputies use is enough to make a rational person defensive enough to resist. We need tremendous amounts of police training and ample hours of officers watching The Andy Griffith Show. As a society we used to make fun of the Barney types.
Use of Tasers should be strictly limited to situations where there is an immediate threat of death or serious injury, which cannot be contained by lesser means, and where a police officer would otherwise resort to firearms to protect life.

If you resist in any fashion you deserve to be tazed. If a Law Enforcement Officer of any kind asked you to put your hands behind your back and you don't, then you have no Rights to not be tazed. I am a Law Officer. If i tell you that you broke the law enough to warrant arrest and you resist, you get tazed. or rather you was a shot of pepper spray? or baton?. you pick.
