I don't have a 6.50mm crochet hook... What happens if I use a 6.00mm crochet hook?

@lolasorocks10 Your hat will be slightly smaller. If you do an extra "increase row" before you do one half-double crochet stitch in each previous stitch, you can make the hat a bit bigger. Your hook will work just fine.
