Wow...so much for staying away from the window (-_-) your job needs a tornado drill because you all really desperately need to learn a thing or two...more than that.
@ people saying "why arent these idiots rushing for cover?"
they're in a building in what looks like a downtown area. most of those buildings are big and have very strong foundations. It takes a big fucking f5 to deform that kind of building.
YOU IDIOTS. you are not suppose to be looking out the windows GO FOR COVER!! Who is the Supervisor there? Needs ro be fired! No Safety guidance there! Is this a government building? College educated I take it?! STUPID!!!
Hmm wow you guys sitting there laughing lookign out the WIndow. You wouldn't be laughing it was 5 inches away for you.Or if Debris came flying int he Window and killed you all.Seriously i would have been in thr basement without takign a breath
yea when i went to vigina as my luck would have it there was a big storm scard the crap out of me and i was in a hotel omg the thunder was SO loud there was a funnel cloud sighting but no tornadow luckaly so aaaaah
This is a good video. Where was it shot? From the AOL headquarters in Sterling, perhaps? What amazed was mother nature's power against Virginia Electric's power. Those exploding transformers is what awed me. That is the main reason I look at these tornado vids.
Of course its not funny but tornadoes rarely touch down in VA. I myself would probably be having a "Good Time" with family and friends as well. At least they had sense enough to get away from the windows.
I dont think thats a laughing matter people were probly dying or being seriously hurt.I been in a tornado before its not to funny when your in it or watching some1 elts go thru it.
President Bush isn't going to give any money. It's up to us...Give money to friends and family living there to make sure the money stays in that area where they live.
Just letting you know that we in Arizona are praying for your people in Virginia who were hurt and the families of those who may have been killed. God Bless you guys. Its good to show this film as it makes people aware of the damage tornados cause and that they need to heed the warnigns.
It actually was not very close and really was pretty weak at its closest point to the building. It is the last couple mintues of it where it is really destroying stuff
tornadoes are cool until they come to your house. when i was in college in ohio i used to be SO excited when we had a watch cuz i wanted to see a tornado... but when we get warnings here - not too far from ashburn - i freak out.
I hear ya man .. Part of me that never saw one in person wants to . .but the other side of me more importantly doesnt want it to destroy peoples houses or lives .. including my own.. They are facinating. I thought I was gonna see one last Sunday driving up 95 when we got a warning on the radio..
I grew up in a house on Church Road, and worked for years at a facility just off of Steeple Chase. Gosh, it seems that when I moved to Wisconsin, I missed out on all the fun. Very Cool Video.
Actually, 1 tornado was reported in Chesterfield last year and 2 in New Kent the year before that. Though, not in the richmond district, we have numorous wallclouds every summer here in the Chesapeak. We had a funnle cloud in Mathews, last June, but no touch down. V.A. seems to not have many nor strong tornados - but the one in the video is the strongest I've seen!!
That's odd to see tornadoes here. (I live in Virginia) After looking over the comments I see this was shot in the part of VA I'm from and still have family who reside there. Hmm, it makes me wonder if any of them saw it.
I'm so glad I finally saw this video. Heard about it. This was from the leftovers of Hurricane Ivan in Sept 2004. Sterling, VA - it was an F2 intensity at one point south of Dulles Airport in Chantilly.
@hbsherwood I remember this actually i was 12 and i was home sick. I live in Leesburg Virginia and it was a really bad storm for northern Virginia. I think it was April 28th but i have no idea. Nice video though
@hbsherwood... That area has a name, it's Ashburn, VA. The buildings in this video are near the AOL complex along Waxpool Rd. Across the street was a large shopping center (Wegman's, Target, DSW, et al) and three car dealers (Nissan, BMW, CarMax). I witnessed this tornado in person. I was in my car on Waxpool Rd. The crazy thing that you can't see on this video is across the street it was sunny. This tornado came over a building crossed Waxpool Rd and went through the shopping center.
"Big Toddlers Under Glass"...which is all that management personnel are. Big mouths, big diapers and all they do is waddle around all day in their nurseries/offices while the big people in the factories get the real work done. "ALL management goes first"...and all will be good in the world.
"Senior Managment will go first" LOL isn't that typical.. ha.
That is a good tornado video. You should upload it to a new site called GaiaGoneWild dot com They are building up a huge collection of videos just like this one:)
LMAO omg, this video made me laugh...it was so funny! I don't blame you really for taking the footage, I'd be amazed too. It's so rare to get any tornadoes at all in Virginia. Where in Virginia was this at? Anyway, very cool video! :)
God don't everyone be quiet at once! LOL Sheesh! And if I may ask, was everyone on break all at once or something to where you guys could stand there and watch a tornado? lol
If this passed over your place of employment, your employer is at a VERY big liability to have all you guys on a high floor in your building with a storm in that close of a proximity. And you are all being incredibly un-safe staying near the windows like that. You should read up on saftey measures you should take during a situation like this.
i think this was shot from one of the office complexes along route 28 near dulles airport, about a year and a half ago three tornados went up 28, a friend of mine worked down the road in the shopping center and he saw them form when he was on break
god one of those girls needs to shut up OOOMG LEIK OMG THERE WAS SPARKLES N LIEK OMG... LEIK O.M.G....U LIKE TOTALLY MISSED IT.. -.-'' those people first to get picked up.
I like the guy who said "thank god I didn't park my car on the roof today" and then someone else said "but I did"! I hope his car was still there. :) Sounds like a fun bunch of people to work with! lol
taking cover is kind of a catch 22 thing. Yes you survived, but now you have a building on top of you.
