Good to see harmonica enthusiasts like you expanding the possibilities of this divine little instrument. Here in South Australia I've been playing harmonic minor and minor diatonics for years, and I'm still the only one doing it! Sometimes it's been a lonely struggle but thanks to youtube I'm really seeing how these "unorthodox" styles of playing are being developed by individuals like yourselves, Hazmat Modine et al...respect, peace, MUSIC!
Thanks so much @lordstompy . As an old-school blues player, I initially found the minor tunings strange and unfamiliar (my favorite licks didn't sound quite right). For anyone interested in getting started with minor-tuned harmonicas try this: Any songs that you are playing in 3rd position (ex. D-minor on a C diatonic), try a natural minor tuned harp in the already-familiar 2nd position instead. It opens up a bunch of new possibilities. Thanks again for the great comment from down under.
@minnechuk Finally got some of my own stuff up...here's a harmonic minor improv jam. paste this in the browser. Lord_Stompy:2largeones . Cheers, can't wait for more of your stuff.
@minnechuk Yes, it is. I play a little - but of course not nearly as well as you or Bill (or Wade, or Randy...the list is long!). Really fine playing Kevin - I stumbled on to your video with BIll by shear luck.
Great guys! Check my channel, I'm also playing reggae :)
