  • Cool! Hmmm, well Laurence Olivier was certainly the best LOOKING Hamlet

  • The Olivier version is one of the best movies of all time, on the same level as The Godfather, 8 1/2, and Raging Bull.

  • I really like what you've done on this video. Would you be interested in doing the same with the To be or not to be soliloquy?

  • Wow! This is really cool!

  • two questions; how did you do this? and which actor played the best hamlet in you opinion

  • It is the famous first monologue in Hamlet and they are just superimposed on top of each other, since they are edited differently they have different length. Originally they were on a one hour loop, with each loop being slightly different because of the time difference. I think it is hard to beat Laurence Olivier, but over all I think Kenneth Branagh's version is the best. And Mel Gibson is heroic for taking on this role.

  • i thoroughly agree with you. i've seen kevin klines and he speaks the first two line way too fast. Mel gibson to me is more of a tybalt or mercutio but i think he makes a great hamlet
