KISHORE KUMAR has once again proved himself SUPERIOR than Rafi. Rafi is a great singer of course but Kishore da definitely has an edge over Rafi. Kishoreda`s voice is unique and unmatched! Versatility and modulation was natural to him. Look at "Aapke Anurodh Pe" and then Tum Bhi Chalo and Hal Kya dilon ka. All completely from different genres and Kishoreda voice shines and blossoms with depth, punch, and masculanity! Kya Awaaz Hai!
Although i respect rafi saab great deal, but this song has exposed the weakness in his voice quality vs kishoreda. The life, throw and style in Kishoreda's singing was so much superior than rafisaab. All the songs sung both Rafi and kishore, kishore has won comprehensively be it Tum bin jaaon kaha, bane chahe dushman, yaadon ki barat. Rafi saab's greatness was eclipsed what Kishoreda was endowed upon by God: Natural talent, which no classical training can substitute.
If Rafi had even attempted to try singing the main version of this song then the weakness in his singing abilities would be highlighted immediately. Rafi-ans always believe that Kishore's songs were easy to sing. In fact, Kishore songs were the HARDEST songs to sing because one needs natural ability to do so. Because Kishore was so amazingly talented he made songs sound so easy to sing.
What planet are these pathetic Rafi-ans from? I would love to know really. The man was a good singer but please, to compare his weak, feminine one-dimensional voice to Kishore's huge ocean of versatility is just ridiculous. Any third grade karaoke singer can sound like Rafi but to match Kishore's ability is near impossible.
My friend, the limited space prevented me from extending my thanks; for your constantly superb efforts over several years now, I think I speak for all of us of the You Tube community, that have had the pleasure of experiencing such superlative material when I say we cannot thank you enough for seeing to our enjoyment & entertainment the way you do. :-)
This is superbly sung & acted: The innate sadness Shammi embodies to perfection is captured sublimely by the vocally majestic Rafi. This song occurred at an era in Hindi cinema I call, "The changing of the guard"; experience gave way to youth; Rafi to Kishore; Shammi to Rajesh & Shankar-Jakishan were tragically extinguished. Arguments about superiority are futile for each was legendary & would have been so in any era; fortunately they existed when people were best equipped to appreciate them. :)
even hema dont like rafi's version .. lool.. look how she ran away from him .. rafis days were over.. after kishore came.. its a fact guys .. in this movie we can clearly see.. popular singer on a popular actor.. all true rafi fans will agree with me :)
Both sound great but songs like this were made for Kishore, fast, fiery, energetic. Rafi sounds great but Kishore rocks!...And sorry to say this kmurty but Kishore didnt eclipse Rafi because of his ability to yodell... It was much more than that.
Kishore eclipsed Rafi saab just by yodelling and nothing beyond that. Kishore himself accepted Rafi saab as his guru and this song proves it. Both are great and lets enjoy them.. Rafi is but no.1
nobody wants to hear rafis thin voice again. KK owns rafi big time. KK's voice is fresh n straight from the heart. even his voice suites on todays actors like ranbir kapoor bachna aey haseeno. kk had many styles n rafi had only 1 crap style.
@BRITISHALQAIDA what planet are you from get a grip and come back to earth. if you prefere kk to mohd rafi then thats your choice. it was kk who had only 1 style and that was just yogeling.
ok prove me KK had 1 style?? listen to humein tumse pyar kitna and then listen mere naina sawan bhadon n see how guru changed his voice style with his magical abilities. show me any rafis song where he had different voice plus style. ? rafis fans r loser.
@BRITISHALQAIDA : Very well said, Kishoreda has tremendous expressive abilities, and ability to change his voice. Humein tumse pyaar kitna, Yeh Jeevan hai, Chho kar mere man ko, Kya yahi pyaar hai prove that he was equally adept at soft songs. No amount of classical training obtained by other singers (incl rafi) could ever match Kishoredas sheer voice quality & depth, natural singing and expressive abilities.
