  • coooooooooool

  • Cut of the fan blades and it will work faster

  • i wonder if anyone has ever tried using the wind from the fan to cool down the cold side of the motor?

    seems logical

  • Muito legal parabéns

  • omg what is that?! how does it work?!

  • can u make the motor or the stuff that makes the fan go around ? :) or can any1 tell me how much is it ?

  • nice, I have made same thing.... anyway 1ml/4min = 15ml/1hr

    15ml ethanol contains about 105wh (1l ethanol 7kwh)

this mean u use 105w(t) to lighting 1w(e) led... sys efficiency less of 1%.

  • max rpm this motor?

  • why u make light ? u can make mobile charger and any other thing . because u already have fire .light

  • the candle light more then u r other light lol..

  • Light concentrated with Fresnel lens can be used to heat the tube. I hope it would be hot enough.

  • I need one of these generator

  • Can you get me one please

  • And yes, I imagine how long would it work on some grams of thermite.

  • You could also hook up a resistor or a metal spiral to the DC output to heat the tube additionally. ;)

  • como lo creaste hermano?

  • fascinating

  • pretty cool ha. ;)

  • a few suggestions : remove the blades from the fan, connect a rectifier bridge to the fan's motor, and connect a capacitor in parallel (at least 1000 microfarads) and your machine will work way much faster and the light from the LED will not pulsate. and don't be shy, use more LED's after that... see ya

  • @AccessNo i was about to say this exactly before i saw your comment

  • Thats an awesome motor my friend.

  • That's pretty nice. As said before, i losing the blades would probably add a ton of electrical output. That, or set it up to where air is being moved over the cooling fins of the engine. That's an amazing machine. It's amazing it can run that long on that little fuel and move that fan, and power a light that long.

  • I would like a Stirling computer xD

  • The fan blades are causing drag on the whole system so lose the blades and double the size of the hogs pulley and add more LED's ;-)

  • not just light that fan took an electric motor some juice to turn so this is actually impressive

  • @cgod241

    Good point. Thanks.

  • @cgod241 WHERE can I buy a 3-10 HP Sterling engine already built? Do the pistons have to be at right angles to each other or can they be end to end. IE hot end on one end of a cylinder, cold end on other? thanks. any help is appreciated.. we want one we can alter, not start from scratch to run a 1000 watt generator

  • Actually stirlings can be up to 80% in when combining heat and power. The engines can be up 40% eff and run on sunlight.

  • awesome :D 5* diy motor :D

  • What if, and i do mean, what if.....Focused sunlight was used instead of flame?

  • i think a skinny rubber band would be better for it fan sun smoother!

  • runs too long even after burner is being removed ..... hmmmm

  • I would do two more things: run another fan/generator (I think it could hack it) and fashion a duct-work out of cardboard or something, so that the fans are moving air across those cooling fins on the power cylinder. Cooling these things is just as important as heating them, in a way..

  • thats really amazing... i wish i could buy this thing

  • @Davidsfarmlives you can! I forget if it was that or a very similar engine that i found being sold in a kit somewhere. be prepared to fork over some money though... :/

  • You should cut the wings of the fan of, to reduce air resistance, and generate more power!

  • Fantastic stuff, Really nice engine... "You Make It " !!, Nice anyway.. It's amazing the power in a Stirling engine magic stuff...

    Thom.

  • Another awesome video! Thanks for posting!!!

  • nice job man, litle tip, cut of the blade an y will gain more speed, so more voltage, an so more electrical output

lol i read comment ^^ led do no consume 20watts mdr this led eat max about 25miliwatts?

do u have take an ampmeter to read how much mili amp this thing give?

  • from where i can get this mashine not the fan i mean the mashnine !! with stroke

  • if you would cut off the fan blades it will go even faster.

  • I have been looking for a small sterling, mind me asking where u got it? and approx cost?

  • its not a motor its an engine

  • @alexkittybag What's the difference between motor and engine?

  • Great Video

  • @GerYouTV - Please explain. How is it Fake?

  • Comment removed

  • @GerYouTV - I agree it does have losses all over the place; the open flame on the tube it does have several watts of power from the alcohol lamp to work with, slippage of the rubberband belt, inefficiency of the fan used as generator at best is 85% efficient, the only thing needed is to get the LED to light is only a few hundred milliwatts and it is flickering. If it were super efficient one rotation of the fan/generator would cause the LED to light. Fake? Not really just inefficient

  • pretty cool

  • Does what appears as a CPU cooling fan generate power when spun by other means like that little machine ? or is it modified some way ? ,, just curious .

  • Nice one, how about some transmission? I think the engine could run a 4:1 or so. Consider gluing some magnets and rolling a few coils so you'd have "another generator" on the same axis? You may want a rectifier and a small capacitor there to keep voltage more stable. I have this setup for my bike lights =)

  • Hey your on television as well as you tube.

    MUDDy

  • Nah, just remove those blades. You dont need any metal disk, it's already there and i think it's already perfectly balanced.

  • exactly!!

replace those blades with a metal disc to serve as a flywheel

  • Remove those blades !

  • where do you get the parts from?

  • GREAT CONCEPT with Hog alpha type stirling engine

    BEST REGARDS

  • Nice, working on doing the same on a larger scale using hho gas as my fuel source for heat. Imo it will be very cost effective for a system to be used for say charging an off the grid battery system.

  • Impressive!

  • pretty good job there mate

  • I wish i had a job to afford one of these magnificent engines.
