i was acually using a pretty cheap protien skimmer called cyclone.. in my opinion if u buy a real expensive one.. it cleans all the good nutrients as well as the junk

yes.. couple months after this picture my tank peeked out and corals out grew the tank.. every 6 months in a 24 gallon reef tank thats packed full will go thru stages like that

sweet tank, Im going to be venturing into the world of 16 gallon via an aqueon bowfront aquarium. Hopefully it works out, people keep telling me I need a refugium, is this an area of the tank that has 0 - no current. Or is it a completely seperate tank to quarantine with?

its about 2000 into it at that point for everything.. thats including everything plus the cost of death of fish and corals.. could have been a lot more but i had good advice setting it up instead of the costly trail and error way

tell you the truth i didnt even weigh it out .. i just filled it up until it looked perfect to me.. the things to remember everyone trys to give strick guidelines on how to set up a tank.. follow the basics so u dont kill anything, but besides that.. make your tank how u want not what the experts suggest

I just acquired a 24g used tank that has been established for 3 years. I would very much like to have the same fish as you do. Is this possible or is my tank too small.

BTW it came with a Humu & a Snow flake eel.

yea it is possible his is a 24 gallon as well .he only has 2 fish which is ideal for a coral reef tank ... not sure about the eels i would sell them they eat fish

not the snowflake eel .. they need a 55 gallon or bigger but the other would be fine
