salt doesn't make your water boil faster, it actually makes it boil slower but it boils at a higher temperature. This makes your pasta cook faster, and the faster your pasta cooks the better it tastes.

Haven't actually tried this, but I have made enough culinary experiments to know what does and does not go together... and Mac-n-Cheese + Yogurt is by far the nastiest thing I have heard of.

If you buy Annie's Organic mac-n-cheese it suggests yogurt instead of milk. Makes it tangier. Never tried it myself, so I'm kinda undecided. xD Team yogurt probably for me anyhow.

Also- salt makes the water boil slower. I always thought it made it faster BUT I always salted my water anyways. Recently, it does indeed make it slower. ):

i would think that with a nice tart greek yogurt, it might be nice. i'm not a person who likes sweet things much, so i would much rather take the yogurt into it's savory range, and use unflavored greek. actually my mom makes a wonderful pasta with a base made of greek yogurt, so i think it might be nice, and i think if you went with flavored yogurt, lmon would be a better choice than vanilla, cause it can be used in both sweet and savory ways, think lemon over fish vs lemon pie.

Team that's gross. Salt makes it boil slower but hotter. Brine is liquid in a larger range of temperatures than normal water, that's also why salt melts ice.

I don't actually know what to choose. I live in sweden, a place free from mac and cheese so I can't buy it and try and I eat weird mixes all the time so I don't think it would be bad. Chocolate for exampel and toast and then add banana and whipped cream is SOOO good, so I don't really know what to choose.

I learned in Chemistry today that salt doesn't actually make water boil faster. In fact, it INCREASES the boiling temperature (so instead of being 100 Celcius, it'll boil a couple degrees higher, and a couple minutes later).

Which is, you know, cool, if you want hotter water, which you often do. But yeah. I just looked at her like this for a good 10 minutes: =O

lol, the salt actually raises the boiling temperature, so it takes longer to boil, but it cooks the pasta at a higher temperature, so it cooks faster.
