That is soo cool. i love it how all the other people are fully dressed and she's in a tight, skimpy outfit and all the ladys didn't faint!! haha lol :)
this variation is looks very decevingly easy, i did it at winter school, and its a killer!!! to make it look light and easy!!! and she makes it look so easy and effortless...beautiful bluebird!!!
@prn4ustat I agree with you 100%. I used to watch my sisters' classes and had the opportunity to watch a professional company rehearse this Pas De Deux. I was hurting after watching the male part. It definately is not easy; from what I've heard, this is supposed to be the most difficult male part to dance. After seeing perfomed on the stage at The Met, I BELIEVE!
I love this variation! :) Notice how 90 degrees is still pretty for even a professional. this dance is absolutely flawless. Don't you just want to be her?
Gorgeous. Strange though, I've never seen that dance done by a different character before. I thought that was only the bluebird music. Ah well, learn something new everyday!
It's the end of the ballet during Aurora's wedding where the various performers are dancing for Aurora and the royal family. There's Florine and the Bluebird, Puss and Boots, Red Riding Hood etc.
Heureusement elle a un joli tutu....Elle est terriblement ennuyeuse et c'est un de ses meilleurs rôles. Elle n'est pas une étoile...un jolie première danseuse...mais pour le reste
Waist down shes almost perfect but the upper half is so stiff! I know that is typical of paris opera and their school but seriously the whole first half could have been so much nicer.
But I don't know there was something about watching this one that was odd.....I think it was too robotic for my liking.....great dancing just not on my list of WOWS
There are many different variations for variations. Sometimes dancers change them to better flaunt their abilities and to hide what they don't do so well. Keep an open mind when watching ballet ummmm Eubacterium
So-- I assume you have been teaching ballet for 80 percent of your life and have attended every major performance of every major ballet company on the planet, eh Eubacterium...?
@Abbinormal09 it is I started ballet when i was 6 but then after i broke my leg badly when I was 7 I stopped for 6 years until I started over when i was 13 and it was hard b4 I broke my leg and after I am now 15 and feeling the passion I had for ballet when I was little
First of all, it´s the Paris Opera Ballet, Choreography by Rudolf Nureyev after Marius Petipa. Dancer is Delphine Moussin, Etoile danseuse since 2005.
Usually tall dancers prefers slower musical tempo than short dancers, and Nureyev´s choreography emphasizes clear crisp "robotic" steps, check his nutcracker!
this is the Lady Bluebird, who is the male Bluebird's female fairy counterpart. she's very good, but a little too jerky for my tastes... and who's the conductor? WAY too slow.
this particular variation is supposed to look a bit robotic; it is supposed to be jerkey, like a bird (hence the name bluebird variation, also called princess florine) :D
it's actually the man who is the blue bird. The lady is Princess Florine. She hears the bird singing in the story which is why in the variation she puts her hand behind her ear frequently. I personally think that the fouettes in the beginning are a bit robotic too, but hey, that's how her ballet master/mistress wanted it *shrug*
