  • woah!

  • I was there

  • @rajonrondo9rocks it was 2 years ago

  • ROFLMAO :D:D notice the flashes of the cameras on left side of the video :D:D every bigger firework increased amount of the flashes :D:Dhehee more ppl was capturing it

  • Gonna be there this year baby.

  • Impressive to say the least. thanks David. Can you talk about your equipment some?

  • @reidlowe For the fireworks it was a Canon XH-A1. I don't remember the exact settings...I think I wrote something on it a little further down in the comments.

For the Pine Run footage, it was a Canon 5DMk2 rigged to the top of the car. Nothing fancy on exposure or white balance on this one...just whatever worked for the lighting.

For both of these they are shot in realtime and sped up in post-production using Adobe After Effects. It's much smoother that way.

  • David, where do you get your footage (like the Pine run in Colorado)?

  • @reidlowe I shoot it myself....

  • I went and liked it until I was gong to my car and my mom got hit on the head with a full pop can and had to get taken the the hospital because she was bleeding. =(

  • I have been to Louisville many times for U of L games! I love Louisville. Awsome fireworks!!! (I am a WVU grad from Charleston who now living "Down Under" in Perth, Australia.)

  • Thank you SOOOOOO much for posting this! I've run the sound for the show the past four years. I never get to see the fireworks, because I'm always transfixed on the levels going out! :)

  • @kelboswell You're welcome! Best seat in the house for Thunder in my opinion...

  • Love this :-)

  • I am going to try to go this year... I can't wait :D

  • I live here so I see it every year!!!!!!

  • Tremendous perspective and brilliant photography from your XH-A1, is it possible to know what presets you used ?

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I don't remember the exact settings, but it was manual exposure, tungsten white balance, probably something around f/8 and medium on the gain. Nothing too complicated....

  • Awesome video! This was my first year seeing them in person. This video brings reminded me how great it was to see it in person. Thanks for sharing

  • MASSIVE fireworks - have heard TOL is the best, EVer - can see why - wow. My parents went to see TOL several years ago - they loved it - Daddy gone now, but he passed his love of fireworks onto my twin sis (TxStoryTeller) and me - we miss him, and hope he's enjoying the best seat in the house. =] Five stars. "I love that sound"
