For those who ask, those "things on his fingers" are aLaska Piks (alaskapik-dot-com) with a standard thumb pick.

aLaska Piks are a bit different than regular fingerpicks. They go under the nail. They hurt my fingernails bad (maybe needed to file them better, but he's doing pretty well with them!

i cant tell u what he is using, but i can tell u that classical guitarists more often than not use nylon, as they are easier to press. if you use a pick-up, steel would be the only option, as nylon of course cant work with an electric pickup!

Sungha's guitar uses steel strings, which is typical of fingerstyle (not "classical") guitar. Steel strings have a sharper attack and more sustain, but not as full of a tone. Classical guitarists use nylon for the tone, not because they are "easier to press." Also, there are different kinds of pickups that do not require steel strings.

They are picks that you wear on your finger for easier finger picking. Some people let their nails grow long so they can play better while others just use these picks.
