  • @ludlum3k the duramax is an import. Isuzu made it broseph :)

  • Is The Duramax a possible successor to the Small Block Chevy? Only time will tell.

  • I can understand why this was done but why? lol. I'm kidding. I have mixed feelings about this. But it was very nicely done.

  • i always wanted to take a 6.6 duramax and put it in a muscel car, looks like someone got me beat to it lol nice

  • I'm not that used to being around or working on diesels but, damn that is clean as fuck.

  • Why call it a piece of shit Duramax and then complement the musclecar? They're both GM masterpieces, the Chevelle and the Duramax. It's a show car anyways, just cuz the diesel isn't as capable of producing the results expected of a muscle car, doesn't mean it's a piece of shit. Just a different application, and still nice for a show car

  • @ludlum3k dude you kidding me? a diesel engine tunned for racing will kill a gas motor

  • Why in hell would you fuckin put a piece of shit duramax engine in a perfectly good muscle car?

  • @number1gamer17 It's a powerful, big block Chevy V8. So what if it runs on Diesel?

  • If I see this car, it better have a fucking alarm, if not, it's MINE BITCHES!

  • Hell yes. I want one

  • Very clean car, I wish I had some power like that. :D

  • while you can't deny the performance of modern diesels, there's just something fundamentally wrong about an oil burner in a muscle car. Even a chebby... ;-)

it's a bit like going down on your sister, it tastes the same, but it's just wrong...

  • That's the sort of car id like.

  • They wrote down power specifications but the engine doesn't even run....

  • @rsx123 they're probably estimates man... that's not the first engine ever built.

  • Any Idea as to why they chose a diesel? Seems like an awesome car but an odd engine choice considering all the options. Were the builders a diesel tuning shop or something? Either way I like it!

  • @MrAngryRedneck ppe built it they specialize in diesel power

  • @6btacummins Well, then the engine choice makes perfect sense. thanks

  • hahhaha iwas there

  • Cool idea and awesome car but I personally think big diesel engines belong in pick-ups and big rigs.

  • So thats where my car went.

  • HOLY SHIIIT !!!!

  • I love the chevelle. It's hard to beat a diesel for a hard working motor. I can't even imagine how many hours went in to the car and motor. I personal don't like a diesel in a chevelle. But it's a great show car.

  • Nice car, If you need a bulletproof maddogtransmission let me know. I will also stand behind it with a one-year unlimited mile warranty. Thanks MaddogLou.

  • wow are u guys reatarded the turbo doesnt need to be hooked up to anything..... for the car to run.... it just missing the intercooler...

  • Ook so why put a unfinished car in a car show...FAIL. Nice car and I've seen it run but I'm sayin why it's a fail in this clip.

  • 0:25 3 guys in pink close lmao great car

  • beautiful car, but more beautiful is that girl's ass 0:36 LOL

  • @Buick97Custom It is a SEMA car, honestly, those are pretty subtle.

  • @tyndago very true. You didnt build this car, did you?

  • @Buick97Custom No. Not my style at all, but I thought it was different, so I took a video of it when I was at SEMA.

  • Comment removed

  • @Buick97Custom some people do show cars, some do go cars. I have done both, but I prefer go cars.

  • @Buick97Custom F......U.....

  • @024x4lb7 I'm not quite sure what to make out of that.

  • @Buick97Custom WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT WATS YOUR TASTE

  • @Buick97Custom Resto-mod style, updated motor, chassis, suspension, brakes, standard trim for a resto-mod.

  • @bradenn I was more pointing twards the rims and lowered suspension. But I didn't mean for it to be under an uploader comment so people would just keep commenting and telling me what it is about..

  • @Buick97Custom i know what you mean, but they look plain enough to me?.. besides, sometimes its nice to have a decent looking set of wheels, and i dont mean flashy wheels, just a decent set... Plus, after they get hella dusty, they should be nice and subtle.

  • @Buick97Custom i'd say the same thing, the owner would be like, my money, my car, my work, nobody cares about you and your opinion...

  • @Buick97Custom why should YOUR taste matter on someone elses car?

  • @bigenginesismythang I said this 11 months ago, I've stopped putting my input in on other peoples cars.. It was a bad habit. Better to keep your yap shut.

  • @Buick97Custom o ok so you matured a little you grew out of telling people what to do with there cars to tellin people what to do with there "yaps"

  • @bigenginesismythang You could say that, yeah.

  • @Buick97Custom good job......... good job

  • The turbos aren't even hooked up....WTF!! FAIL.......

  • @Deepinher01 wtf read the discription

  • @Deepinher01 hows that a fail if you read the description it clearly says that the car is not finished yet so you " FAIL....:"

  • dude that would be hella quick once them twin turbos are spoolin ! holy shit

  • OMG THAT IS CRAZY.

  • It's definitely different, but I'll stick to a pushrod V8 for my Chevelle.

  • ive seen this car in person, i wasnt really impressed

  • @mustang50dominates to the haters out there: This car is way out of the box thinking and a one-of-a-kind 1000+ HP car displayed at SEMA. It wasn't built to impress Chevelle purists, muscle car lovers and especially not Mustang lovers. Watch the trends and this is right on the mark. Would my next car be a diesel probably not but would I like to own this one, HELL Yeah! Pimp My Ride built a Turbo Diesel '65 Impala that completely owns a Lamborghini on youtube (this chevelle looks far better)

  • @sirjon2112

thats your opinion, i cant stand chevelles because where im from every car is either a chevelle or a camaro. you also said this car is out of the box thinking then you say its going with the trend. isnt that contradicting. I dont like supr

  • @mustang50dominates The current trend of "Going Green" is 180 degrees opposite ANYTHING from the era of muscle cars hence "out of the box thinking "By definition, anything ahead of it's time is odd until it becomes the trend. My opinion is that hopping up diesels will become far more common and more and more cars in America will be offered with diesels from the factory. So if you following along you are to watch the trend that cars like this are going to start.

  • Why would you ruin such a beautiful car?

  • the only thing gay about this is the fruitcake in the pink shirt walking around

  • thats so homo a disel engine in a muscle car stuuuupid

  • @MajorMajor34 nothing homo about it. thats one of the best ideas yet. more torque and better fuel milage. and all around just wicked.

  • gay its a duramax.. should be a real diesel, like a cummins. but from that little sheet, thats impressive for 1000+ hp and 2000+ ft-lbs torque coming from that. i'd love to see it run

  • @SVD151k you can't say thats gay and then say it's impressive. your just contradicting your self. and i bet you didnt know that the newest duramax puts out higher numbers than the cummins :) just face it, with the allison tranny mated together with the duramax... you just can't get any better

  • To all you guys arguing fuel efficiency, check out the emissions of a new diesel compared to a new gasoline engine. You might be surprised to realize that all diesels since 2008 have been labelled "low emissions vehicles" by the EPA. Also look up BANKS 1,000hp smokeless diesel drag truck. They have pushed clean diesel tech to a new level.

Yes, some people like so make 'smokers' they feel powerful that way. Please go research diesel and its MANY ADVANTAGES over gasoline.

  • That is so fuckin sick.

  • deisels are poisenous carcinogenic hideous suburbanite americam retard machine. HAve fun giving yuourself pancreatic cancer

  • @TRBNGR666 Oh shut your faggot mouth, better than getting emphysema from gasoline.

  • @TRBNGR666 And fyi, diesels are used alot more widely in countries outside the US.

  • @TRBNGR666 your a moron diesel is far cleaner then gas and much safer to handle and if your not American then don't talk about our country you don't know nothing about us so keep your mouth shut

  • @roadrunner681 I think you meant "you're" a moron....moron.

A diesel is basically a 2 stroke....burns both oil and gas...so its not even remotely cleaner or healthier for someones lungs.

Keep in mind I am in Arizona....trucks are what most people drive here ...so I do see a VERY high amount of diesel. If you ask me....the biggest cause of air pollution is Diesel trucks more than any...and most idiots leave them running 18 hours a day

  • @TRBNGR666 well the ass-wholes that leave there truck running like that are just stupid as well as the people who tune there trucks just to blow smoke i agree with you about that but i live around internationals and Ive yet to see them blow billowing clouds of smoke and my boss has them adjusted if they do start to smoke i suggest doing a little research on bio diesel, hybrid diesels and propane there a business around here uses propane and bio diesel there trucks are very clean

  • @TRBNGR666 diesels were invented in Germany by a man named Rudolph diesel so it not American and you just insulted 2 country's in one sentence

  • @roadrunn Diesels are the only option in EU, not to mention EU is smaller and doesnt have near the road network America has. Communities are small, so unlike US, not every man woman and child need a combustion to live their lives like americans do in the first place. In US, Diesel trucks have become a stupid trend....people that dont even tow anyting and have tiny dicks all have a diesel.

  • @TRBNGR666 but they have a sophisticated rail network that they can use and not all diesels are gas there is a few diesel vw around here and they get great gas mileage my tech teacher used to have one great little car and i understand the giant truck trend every hick in town has a truck i can drive my s-10 under with those stupid truck nuts on them so i see your point of view if you have no use for it why have it, am i correct?

  • 1700 ft. lbs. of torque, it was on hotrod tv

  • man that thang is sick....i would so build one if i had the time and money

  • Can you say "Too much spare time?"

  • i would never put a diesel in my 70...waste of time and money

  • I SAW THIS EXACT CAR AT CARS AND COFFEE!! its soo beautiful and the sound is undescribable

  • Omg drool my favorite car off all time

  • Great car but I would swap out the gang banger rims and rubber band tires for some classics and radials.

  • Does this thing sound like a truck when it goes WOT? I know the duramax rev's up to about 3000 rpms, then just sort of hangs there, but you're still accelerating hard, shifts and drops down 400 rpms and repeat lol. It's kind of a shame that you won't hear the roar of a NA big block when you see this thing

  • @08SilveradoLT 3000 rpm? only if its an 01 to an 03. any newer is 4800rpm

  • @huntinfreak100 well, the redline is still up there but you don't need it lol.

  • way to wreck the chevelle

  • Actually its definatelt diesal and makes 900hp and 1800 ft lbs to the wheels, Things a beast. And he does autocross it, there's a vid. of him doing it on youtube.

  • nice shiny turbos like two proud breasts

  • I saw this car in person at the Yorba Linda car show a while back. Still got the pics on my phone :D

  • Isn't that the Chip Foose natural gas burning 70' Chevelle? I don't think thats a diesel, correct me if I am wrong.

  • Your wrong.

It's a Duramax. Runs on biodiesel (one article I read mentioned the great smell of french fries once the tire smoke cleared.)

Makes over 1000ft/lbs of torque, owner has been known to autocross it.

  • should be making over 1000hp with that set up, 1000ft lbs is weak for a performance tuned diesel

  • yeah the sheet shows 2000 ft lbs, which should be about right with that size of twins

  • No sir. actually a 29 year old buit this one. check out popular hotrodding, they featured it awhile back.

  • Get that piece of shit smoke pole out of that Chevelle.

  • You're a moron. Diesels are FAR superior to weed-killer motors.

  • it was time to use the huge torque of a diesel motor in a performance car, in a muscle car

  • o ill pick it up in a week just polish it again LMFAO !!!

  • Yep, Pimp My Ride did the same thing with an Impala... can't remember what year impala it was, though... anyways, beat the piss out of a Lambo Gallardo (think it was a Gallardo, not sure though) Anyways, nice work on that duramax. How many psi boost does it run? Did you need to replace the stock rods? If you did, which would you recommend- H beam rods or these new "X" beam rods i read about a while ago in Dieselpower Mag?

  • My dad own's a #'s matching LS5 454 1972 original ss only 5000 made that year 90 000 original miles on it. Just the motor rebuilt bottom bored, cammed and up. My dad would roll in a grave if i would ever do that to his classic. I own a LBZ chev, Duramax/Allison #1!!!!!

  • who cares what your dad think ?

  • that chevelle will rip the shit out of any other chevelle. if thats the one i read about in a magazine the fucker puts out over 1800 ft lbs of torque

  • most stupid idea ever, but different.

    E for efort

  • ive never seen a shiny deisel before

  • Now you have.

  • @tyndago I have, they are all shiny

  • @lilmarv08 agreed

  • @lilmarv08 righ man

  • @brobinson75 the concept of a diesel in a muscle car is converting the torque in the gearbox, a diesel engine with lots of torque can accelerate as fast as a gasoline engine aslong as the gear ratios are set up good.

Hope that clears up some things

  • wasted 70 chevelle

  • Comment removed

  • @sellpaint72 this will blow most gassers out of the water weirdo

  • @sellpaint72 why the heck wasted??? it freakin rocks!!

  • no one owns Cummins...At one point in the past there was an agreement between cummins and ford for engines but ford dropped it for International...

  • CUNT

  • you are literally too stupid to even bother with, so ill say this final statement and after that this is done. you don't get it, #1, I didn't start this, I merely pointed out why they chose to put a diesel in this car instead of a big block, and then you respond by calling me a faggot like it has anything to do with the car. Calling somebody names doesn't offend them, especially over the internet, it just shows what a unintelligent piece of trash you are...not to mention your obviously a liar.

  • Comment removed

  • Basically, you're a douche and know nothing about cars or engines.

  • ur the bitch that started talkin shit to me u bitch, mofo and and i work and pay for my own shitt bitch ..grow some balls uf fucktard...stfu u tryin to act all smart online u cunt... FUCKEN PUSSY go cry to your mom and not me faggot...

btw ur the bitch that starts it by disrespecting my shit.i end shit bitch SO FUCK U

  • i know what a 383 is u fucken bitch.but theyre more common in mopars u fucken jew

do us a favor and hang yourself, il eat u and ur mommas pussy alive

  • fuk a 383 stroker alot of people have those. my neighbor down the street has one. but its better than a dmax

  • ohhh...so yesterday you didnt know there was such a thing as a chevy 383 but today your neighbor down the street has one? riiiightttt....and your right..im definitely a "faggot" because i didnt know what oversized truck you had to drive to overcompensate for having a tiny pecker, my apologies.

  • watch ur mouth before u talk cunt, wtf u know about me sayin that i aint gota nice car, my rides are worth more than your pathetic life, now STFU..at least i aint a faggot like u supporting a niggered out chevelle with way to skinny tires with a durajap motor

  • so, what your saying is that i am a faggot jew with a pathetic life who supports "niggers" and you want to eat me? Did you want to eat me before or after i hung myself?

  • il eat ur bitch ass and shit you out. along with your moms puss

  • yeah you already said that.

    WEAK.

  • i will say it over and over because u know its true

  • haha riiiiiiiighttttt.

  • oh, and now you dont just have an oversized truck, you also have "rides" as in plural. Your 19, you probably dont even own a car that you paid for yourself.

Here's a suggestion, why don't you stop trying to be hard on the internet and start learning how to spell and actually learn that typing every swear word that comes to mind doesn't really offend anyone, it just further shows how ignorant and unintelligent you are.

  • actaully i drive a fully loaded megacab laramie faggot, with a real cummins motor.

  • Ahhh..this takes me back to my high school days ..when I had my Chevelle with the twin turboed duramax...siiigh..good times..

  • actually there is also a chevy 383, its a 350 block machined to fit a 400 crank, aka "stroker" motor, just like a 502 or 572 is a stroker motor... they produce stupid ass amounts of torque if done right...as for the rest of your comment. your entitled to your opinion, but all your hatred towards the car probably just means that your jealous that you yourself dont have a car that nice.

  • fuck building up a duramx. get a iron block cummins. not a alum bloack duramx that cant hold pig power reliably

  • u drive this car in the street, ppl gona b like wtf is this diesel, thats retarted.

i know y ppl think its cool, it is, but they dont go along. get a 502

  • the point of it was to do something different, how many muscle cars do you see with a 502 or a 572? that stuff is dime a dozen, they wanted to do something new, not do the same thing everyone else who puts a big block in a chevelle.

  • who gives a fuck about gas mileage in a american muscle car u retard. and it will not get 32 mpg with aftermarket injectors.

    this car rneeds a 502 or 572..

    not a fucken diesel..

im a diesel fan, but not in cars, that duramx belongs in a silverado or gmc...or a old scottsdale or c10 or k5 blazer.

plus a gas engine is lighter, easier to work with, and cheaper to build.

  • i drive a muscle car as a daily driver, and i can tell you i do care about MPGS since i dont have bill gates income. and YES it does get 32 MPGS, you dont know what the fuck your talking about.

  • plus the 502 and 572 are way overpriced, a 383 with a supercharger will put out more power than both of them for half the price.

  • boooooo!!!!!!!!!!! trailer queennnnnnnnn

  • yamaraptor is a quadtard.

  • hey rsr530, this engine will blow your 454 off the road! and get way better fuel mileage while doing it!!! real engines don't use spark plugs

  • @Dotykid1 "real TRUCK engines don't use spark plugs"

Here, I fixed it for you ;)

  • ok we got the dreft you have a diesel so gas engine is not real i like diesel but 454 with right topend i belive will do prety good with your 530 .

  • 7.3L psd or a 5.9 cummins woudla been a better choice

  • Super charger with 2 turbos looks beastly but no intake pipes????

  • what supercharger?

  • geta 454 gas faggot. not a jap made diesel made by isuzu

  • You just know as much as whats in the brochure

  • thats a stupid ass thing to say. That engine puts down 900 horsepower and 1,800 ft lb of torque and gets 32 MPGS...a 454 wouldnt even touch that.

  • those rims look like shit on that classy car

  • If you pay attention to the details on this car the builder is not going for a classy look.

  • yo the duramax aint no shitty diesel. da fuck u talkin bout.

  • can you say no traction

  • That car was at the 2009 sema show. It was all done. Badass car. The same display had a badass 1200 hp sequential turbo duramax.

  • Cool idea but waste of a car.

  • we run izuzus on all of our diesel irrigation systems... used to have a cummins but it was a piece of shit... weve been running two of them for 20 yrs and havnt had any major problems with em

  • are you sure is a diesel cuz pontiac tran am and can am both had 6.6 liters gas eng please let me know thanx

  • yep its a diesel an isuzu duramax diesel a very weak shitty diesel.

  • 6.6?

  • the liters have nothing to do with whether or not the engine is gas or diesel, the engine in the chevelle is diesel for sure, ive seen the car before, and it was built about 10 minutes away from me in placentia california.

  • jap crap? ignorant prick

  • thats what I said JAP CRAP DURACRAP DIESEL...musclekid?

  • Duracrap? shows how mature you are. do you realize how much power a duramax will put out? its just too bad you can't except it. this engine would blow the doors off the regualr 454. don't get me wrong i fuckin love big block chevs and small block. but don't get all huffy puffy cause someone did and engine swap on a car.

  • The duramax is a poorly "DESIGNED" jap diesel. They don't last what so ever. I have done many motor swaps myself idc if this guy did a motor swap, its what motor he decided to use. For power they don't make anymore if not less then the cummins or powerstroke. Its a good idea putting a diesel in a car with the torque and hp its practicaly unstoppable. but choosing the duramax to be the diesel in the car bad idea it's now only good for stuff like this "display".

  • what you got a problem with japanese? let me guess you're the same redneck who has the bumper sticker that says "why be strokin when I could be cummin".

the duramax is a fantastic engine. all my friends have had their's since the early 2000's and none of them have had issues. if you keep it well maintained they last forever.

fuckin grow up and stop dissin on this engine. its a fantastic engine.

  • ya would use that stick since I drive a powerstroke. these are not fantastic engines unless you just drive them up and down the road then they may last a little longer. and if you have friends that have never had problems with the duramax its luck they don't make it past 150,000 without a problem thats if they can make it to 150k.

  • dude my friends go off roading with theirs i have one friend who drives his 300 miles hauling four horses in one weekend once a month on top of regular miles. just face it. it is a good engine you're just the blue collar redneck who was raised on ford his whole life and won't except anything else

  • No I was raised on chevy became the ford guy on my own I still love the good ole chevy muscle but there diesel weak. found the real diesel is cummins and powerstroke. BTW is there something wrong with being a blue collar redneck thats what keeps this nation going. I have been working on chevys my whole life old ones that is because there the only ones worth driving anymore. anything new after the early 80's is junk. Im not wanting to argue with you im just stating my opinion.

  • Ford 6.0 Powerstrokes are one of the most problematic diesel engines ever put on the market. If I wanted to I could keep my shop in business working on those alone. I haven't ever run into any serious issues with Duramaxes yet, other than the odd injector, but that was on trucks pushing 300000 kms.

  • i have a question for you, im 15 almost 16 in 3 months. i want a diesel truck. i live on a farm so i haul cattle for 4h and other reasons. im only looking to spend about 21k on a truck. what do you think i should get?

  • get a dogde ram good quality but not the best

ram would cost like 15k pretty good car for hauling things

  • and when was I talking about a 6.0 and you are thinking of the early 6.0l not the newer ones well seeings how the duramax as a whole is a pile of jap shit I guess you must be a horrible mechanic.

  • If you believe the duramax is the best thats your opinon im just saying that the d-max is good for just daily driving but not towing this chevelle might do fine with this diesel but in a truck no there worthless.

  • do you have a lift on your truck?
