  • very pretty! =)

  • how are u supposed to breed halfmoons...

i tried breeding my red super delta hm with my white body red tail female hm and it doesnt look good.. the male flares but he doesnt makes a bubble net uder the cup??they make a perfect spawning couple but then the male wont breed

  • if a female halfmon donsnt have vartical bars on its sides but have like 2 zig zag lines goin across could it still spawn??

  • is it hard to breed halfmoons??

  • No, it's a little bit harder than veil tails but it's not hard :)

  • same thing

  • if u r gonna sell the fry, Ill take some...

  • I'm sorry I've already sold all fries :)

  • Do you plan on selling the fry. If so could I buy one from you?

  • tat habitat looks nice!

  • Hi i was just wondering can u leave a male and female together all the time or is it betta to have them in separate tanks?

  • if you leave both sexes in the same container/tank too long, then the female will be overly stressed about herself, and therefore, will not get enough rest. If they happen to mate, the female will need at least 16 days to recuperate, while the male needs only 4 hours or so to be able to mate again. ^^

    -i hope that helps.

  • really nice halfmoon love the white on the end of fins

  • hey im trying to breed as well...and my male isnt creating a bubble nest. Any general tips on breeding them? Do you put any special chemicals in your water? whats the ideal temp?

    thanks!

  • I put wild almond leaf extract in the water..also almond leaves are very very good..the ideal temp is 27-30°C. Keep them in the way the can only see each other for 4-5 days and feed them with chironomus, then you put the female in the males tank when se has vertical striping and big belly ;)

  • wow thanks man..ill give that a go. thats the first time ive heard about the almond leave and the chironomus. I dont even know what chironomus is so im gonna look it up! thanks for the advice...your a champ

  • haha chironomus is the scientific name for mosquito larve. yeah i used to catch my own from the back yard but ran out so now i feed them frozen bloodworms.

  • hey i thought id like to say thanks again for the tip on indian almond leaf, my betta made a bubble nest overnight! i got my IAL from auctiva dot com/stores/viewstore2.aspx?id=308934&styleid=12
