Hi. I currently am shooting with a Canon 60D and shoot in RAW. When i go to process my files and convert them to Jpeg do the images lose their quality? as RAW images cannot be processed as they are way to big, so i was wondering if i lose quality on my images when thy get converted to Jpeg...

The problem is, cannon have been a little slack with their QC, I have seen reviews on the 7D that I find quite disturbing to do with focus issues, I normally use manual focus but it is to do with the sensor or that the focus is that slightly more complex to use in auto. Also shutter problems. To be honest I'm thinking of trying out Nikon. It just seems that Canon are to much in the spot light at the moment. Any suggestions on this? Thanks guys

actually i think the lock button is great. last week i was shooting with 7D and i was in Av mode, after a minute i noticed that it's on Tv mode :/ i donno how that happened. i know the lock button is weird but it can be really good.

@onenutmonkey234 I was faced with the same decision, the d3100 is obviously cheaper but if you are interested in photography, go for the 60D because even though it's a little more expensive, you will be able to get much, much more out of it. plus you will probably end up exchanging a d3100 for a better dslr in one or two years, the 60D will last you a while before you feel you need to upgrade. So if you are willing to spend the extra $500, deffinately the 60D.
