@racingeye I don't know why, but Kauto Star is inbred 3x3 to Mill Reef, then he is a Phalaris descendant, although his female family is completely french-bred since Grignouse (born in 1910), whose female family was completely american-bred begining with JACK OF DIAMONDS MARE (1766)
i knew kauto before he was famous. he was just a down to earth working class horse.

Phalaris is in the breeding of a lot of the top international show jumpers (Olympics, World Champsionships etc) "they can Jump" great blood.

Why the French breds do so well. Because they are not riddled with the Phalaris bloodline.

@jrisquez Yes you are right but a lot less Phalaris than British or irish bred horses. I think that is why they do so well.
