Ancient Egypt was the major multicultural society of the ancient world, people used to flock from all the known world at that time for Egyptian knowledge, wisdom and of course their pleasures. I cannot remember which Greek philosopher who said this (it might be Herodotus) but of all the civilisations Egypt was the happiest and most spiritual. Says it all for me really.
The sound you hear coming in at about the 6 minute area of the timeline of this video is a male vocalist singing the sound at a low F# pitch. The syllable being sung is "Om." The "om" syllable is a chanting sound used in many cultures and probably dates back thousands of years.

@dashinspired the ancient egyptians werent white nor black, why you americans are ignorants? is it because you guys are so fat and too lazy to learn ?
As yet, to our knowledge, there is no known musical notation which, if deciphered, would allow a direct transcription of very ancient Egyptian music for interpretation and performances today. These pieces are composed based on a careful study of surviving musical instruments from that time, as well as paintings depicting musicians playing their instruments.

One question: Is this music that is based off of what they could have played, or is it actual songs that they are known to have played?
