They did delay the game till April 2010. But the longer they work on it, the better it will be. So there's an up-side to this delay i guess.

60% of the planet is still frozen over so there will most likely be winter maps. In fact, they already stated that they were keeping some of the popular multiplayer maps. Pirate Fortress is the most popular map and it has snow so expect to see it again.

I was concerned because I love snow and also I am 2nd in command of a 50+ gaming clan called THE RUSSIANS. Wanted to make sure we could keep our climate. ;)
