This album is their best to date if you ask me. I absolutely love the previous ones, even Gabriel which got quite a bland response from the fans, but this is simply brilliant.
Does Believer consider themselves to be a christian band anymore? I'm not judging or anything, it's just I've seen recent concert videos with Kurt swearing and stuff, and I'm not sure if the new band members are all christians. I know they were definitely a christian band back in the 90's.
@eyedoctor91 swearing? What is swearing? What is cursing? According to the Bible especially! Study it! it definitely isn't the stereotypical "four-letter-words" modern tradition claims it is.
I like this album so far! I like their sound too! Vintage yet forward thinking. Extol already made the followup to "Dimensions" with their album "Synergy" (lol) so it was only right for Believer to go a different direction!
@mrelectric40 I think you'll find that Ego-Machine is more in line with the Believer you're familiar with. I for one see them doing what any good band does. Ex
I liked thet album myself. this sounds like the typicla way taht people bash a classic band just bc they don't sound eactly like they did when they did their older material, but most bands don't want to just keep putting out the same exact stuff all the time. This album did have to grow on me, & a lot of times that's what it takes to get into anything...especially when it's something a little different.
"Gabriel" was truly awful. Hope this is better...so far, it is better, but it won't take much to be better than "Gabriel". As for the best Believer, "Dimensions" is not their best. Their first CD, "Extraction from Mortality" is their best. The next best is their second CD, "Sanity Obscure". If you haven't heard their first two, I strongly suggest you get them.
Sure, I've heard Medwton. The production is terrible and the song isn't that great. It's too long with the same riffs over and over. Focused Lethality is the best song on the CD. They pre-released this song and had everybody thinking they were going back to some serious thrash. Then the CD was full of terrible tune after terrible tune. The Need for Conflict? History of Decline? Nonsense Medicated Decay? Redshift? Horrible.
@mrdavidwlowe You must be listening to some bootleg, falsely labeled 320kbps version cuz quite frankly the production on that song CLEARLY shines even in light of every song they have produced in the past(in any quality you choose). The riffs repeat but fairly within the song structure(like Focused Lethality mind you) and the length comes from the cinematic intro, outro, and instrumental part. I let the other songs speak for themselves but Medwton is genius(but Believer hates labels)!
@mrdavidwlowe - Bizarre !! I've been into Believer ever since 1989 and Gabriel was a very good album - though nothing can beat Dimensions IMO - the best prog thrash album ever! Gabriel had some very infectious riffs and the classic 'kurt' guitar sound and his vocals are very unique for thrash vocals.... Moment in Prime was my fav and i love the end to 'medwton' - hypnotic 'ohhmmms'..... Gabriel is better than sanity obscure but not as good as the 1st and 3rd cds..
It' Believer for sure! Stretching themselves musically. Like before just more seasoned. I love it. We need things that are different. Elements of their roots are there but it's always good to progress. I'm sure the whole CD will show many side to their music. Again thank you guys for doing what you do! Amazing. We would love to see you all in Southern Calif!
@abermouse So don't judge on one song. Go and check their stuff, like "No Apology", "D.O.S.", "Nonpoint", "Sanity Obscure", "Dies Irae" ... Man, this band is simply AMAZING!
they need music videos

Traveled to PA from NJ to Suffocation, but these guys were the warm up band. Loved their sound and bought their latest album, Gabriel.

I really liked Gabriel but the way they described this album I thought the vocals were going to take a step up in quality, not down.

@scott5minutes Of course it's Believer - you can hear Kurt Bachman (guitar, vocals) and Joey Daub (drums) here :-)

@elinwar Yeah, I know it's the members of Believer - it just doesn't sound like Believer. At least not classic Believer.
