  • can someone please tell me # 1 what is the current reckord 2012 and # 2 what these idiots under me are talking about difernt reckords for difernt water?

  • @YorickDerksen what?? no the water doesnt matter. its what he breathes in before. with a normal breath it was 10 minutes or so. with oxygen it was 17

  • I think someone will get to 20 minutes soon

  • im holding for over 3-4 minutes and i thought a little more training could pass me through the record, but after watching it ive lost all my belief in my abilities :(((

  • @lashatotladze The real record is 10 min or so, this is not just regular water. The record for holdest the longest breath in this specific water is 17 min, in regular it's 10.

  • i bet this guy can go 17 weeks without water

  • in mother russia, breath holds you!

  • omg.. 17 minutes.. that's epic

  • I cant believe a chuck norris comment made it into the top

  • He killled 17 brain cells!

  • what about his brain?

  • HE BEAT THE WORLD RECORD

uhh Tom.u can go get up now

    tom..?

    TOM!!!!!!!

  • Stig Avall Severinsen, over 20minutes...

  • Although very impressive, I hope you realise they inhale pure oxygen beforehand, compared to 20% (which is in air)..... allowing ones self to inhale 5x more oxygen in one breath

  • We swedish retarded people thinks the world record is 11 minutes

  • david went of to do 19.30

  • @osemudiame123 link please

  • god damn he isnt a human.

  • Thats amazing(:

  • The Stig beat him with 20 minutes 10 seconds.

  • When chuck norris goes underwater, the water has to hold it's breath

  • @SuperSkierdude cool?

  • @SuperSkierdude hahahahahhahahhaha, u make my day

  • When the "current record" thing popped up at the beginning I instinctively tried to close it. lol.

  • how in the world can you stay underwater for 10 minutes WITHOUT oxygen!?

  • i cant even do it fur a full minite

  • looked like he could last 10 more minutes in that tank

  • He actually didn't beat David Blaines record David did it with handcuffs and straps and Tom didn't do crap

  • @JoramDePoram They breath first an hyperoxygenated product which will bring up their oxygen level

  • I think in 20 billion years humans will evolve and be able to live underwater while breathing.

  • shattered? wtf?

  • The record is now even longer at 19 mins 21 seconds. haha

  • This guy is a diver only a pro could beat David and then talk like nothing.

  • @danny29914 no there's a special technique for that

if you do absolutely NOTHING (just like your sleeping)

you need much less oxygen to keep your body moving

  • @whopper1209 oh i know that i was trying and if i walk i cant stay as longer

  • if you just turn off your brain you can hold it much longer then that

  • dangit my record is 2.01 minutes and im 12.

  • I'm holding my breath while watching.

  • That can't be healthy... After 4-6 minutes without oxygen your body starts to lose braincells and you start to get slot if brain damage

  • wtf....i can barely do 30 seconds.... how do u guys do that shit

  • My record without oxygen is 3 min. 1 sec. Not too shabby for a 13 year old.

  • @Steelerfan1164 youre lying

  • @danny29914 I'm Steelerfan1164. I changed my screenname. I swear to god I did it.

  • @TheOutsider185 ok ok

  • @TheOutsider185 ok...

  • 6 min 45 secs out of water is my record

  • I was out of breath just watching this.

  • at 0:37 he's just like, gonna take awhile, gotta get comfortable

  • my record with oxygen is 11,46 minutes i am 10 years

  • my record with oxygen is 11,46 minutes

  • His record will be broken very soon by a bangladeshi guy , and also he will cross english channel by sinking dive, preparation is now going on.

  • Awww Man!!! David Blaine should try again! Thumbs up if you agree.

  • hes using steady aim pro thumbs up if you agree

  • @dawgsnsuch Hahahaha

  • as a joke someone should put a lid on the tank

  • im not saying this is fake, but hecan still talk? after being under water for so long?? david couldnt even move after that

  • @l3akedRight That's cuz David Blaine is a drama queen.

  • @benciske if you are under water for over 15 minutes, i think your ganna need to take a couple of breaths before you can even piss

  • @l3akedRight Yeah, I bet you're gonna wanna take a couple breaths before you do just about anything.

  • @benciske GUCCI BANDANA!!!

  • Best i can do is 1 minute and 10 seconds, and then i am already getting the feeling that i will drown if i go on.

  • @saosinrising

Static apnea. You shut all the non vital organs down in your body and you don't move.

  • david baine is da real deal yo....

  • his an alien

  • Hmm i am 15 minutes, 18 seconds away from that record

  • now what? it's like bending spoons.

  • He beat me by 17 minutes..

  • Well I am 16 minutes and 19 seconds away from the record

  • I can hear his brain cells popping through the screen.

  • @thecrudmeister

    Fitting his shirt says apnea.

  • @lesterclaypool1 Didnt notice that. But yeah.

  • @surupystuff lol!:"¤:"!#¤!:¤"

  • i did nearly 9 secounds! im getting betah :)

  • they said he has twice the oxygen capacity of a normal person

  • im like a minute lol, so im only like 16 minutes off :P

  • That is awesome! It takes ALOT of training and practicing to do that!

  • Won't that cause brain damage from a lack of oxygen?

  • 17 mins 19 sec that's how long it'd take Chuck Norris to kill all creatures on Pandora without an Oxygen Mask...

  • on april 1 2010 a new record was made by Stig Åvall Severinsen of 20 mins ,

no not mking april fool here its on wikipedia

  • @zfjquery its true 20 mins 10 secs

  • guys david blaine got 17min

  • where do you live?he is the best in static and dynamic apnea in the world!

  • 17 minute? lol WTF? that must be fake

  • @zblempt It aint fake. Its called static apnea or something. And they hyperventilated 100% oxygen prior to this.

  • @Uverworldfanz ohhh i dont know that but i think in static apnea you cant breathe 100% oxygen before

  • @zblempt That is for real static apnea test. In GWR they were allowed to breath 100% oxygen for a certain amount of time. If they were not allowed, they would only last about 10~12 minutes.

  • if u breath 80% oxygen its poison 100% would kill you

  • @steamingpoopfart What poison? They do it in a safe manner that when the lungs cannot take the air composition they would stop.

  • r u serious? 17 minutes?!? this guy is not human. i can hold it for like 30 seconds max hahahaha

  • its not fake its a technique called static apnea i have saw people using it in my country

  • this is fake so hard man

  • is this the most difficult thing in the world or am i wrong...

  • Unbelievable...

  • lol i can 2min16seconds xD

  • tom how do you feel right now? what a dumb question

  • what a stud

  • pffft chuck norris doesn't need oxygen

  • @eujeeves LMAO! nice comment.

  • @eujeeves oxygen needs chuck norris ;)

  • @eujeeves chuck norris slept under water for a year and it didnt even do anything to him

  • @eujeeves grow up. nerd.

this is real skill, unlike your neeky overrative comments you make.

  • @GodOnStrike 33 thumbs up biatch! :P

  • @eujeeves xD ! :P

  • @eujeeves oxygen needs chuck norris.

  • @eujeeves oxygen needs chuck norris

  • @eujeeves Oxygen needs chuck norris

  • legend

  • Let it be noted that he breathed in pure oxygen before he went under the record for normal air is 11:35

  • this dude is beast he wasn't even flailing around or grasped for air when he emerged out of the water

  • 2min 12sec dammit i was so close to beating him. lol

  • @awesomexperson Don't forget he is using pure oxygen.

  • @awesomexperson I made it to 2:25.

  • kelly is a dumbass. Shattered the world record? it was 15 seconds more? I don't think that's considered shattering a record.

  • @nabnabdeep sitting underwater with apnea for almost 20 minutes those seconds are fucking hours

  • @nabnabdeep Personaly, i think it is. Seriously, who cares if it was 15 more seconds? That was 15 more seconds he held his breath under water on top of 17 minutes.

  • Damn, just 1 minute 30 seconds.

  • he could have gone for 20 lol

he is not even knackered when he leaves like blaine after 7 mins

  • how the hell

  • yo this dudes a ninja

  • i can hold for 3 mins 22 sec but my body starts to freak out anything longer than that. i cant imagine what its like for this guy

  • ..............thought u would be unconsicous......cuz your brain need air.......that was amazin

  • It is performed by oxygen doping to increase red blood cells so that oxygen may be carried more efficiently through the body. A normal person would be unconscious because their oxygen levels would be depleted much faster.

  • holly crapp! i cant even do it a minute!

  • He inhale pure oxygen otherwise he wouldn't be able to do it. But 10 minutes without oxygen is pretty good as well!!

  • How do they not go unconscious?

  • @Saligubung pure oxygen, loada training.

  • 2min 2sec for me. I think if I exercised I could hold if for about 4min. I think I'll do a video on it

  • ya a beaver could pwn this guy

  • I heard that a beaver can only hold there breath under water for 15 minutes. this guy can beat a beaver!

  • wow

  • just how?

  • @kx85rider79 It's not that hard as you imagine it is.

It does require a lot of physical and phycological training. Some people can reduce their heartbeat and be in a semi coma state.

  • 0_0 I can barely do a minute but THAT LONG?!?!

  • i can only do a min 6 :(

  • I can do it for about 5 minutes but 17 minutes is just ridiculous must be really hard on his body.

  • i can only hold my breath for like 40 seconds, let alone 16 minutes

  • 1 minutes 32 seconds here this guy is mad, he can go diving without gear lol

  • yours is just as long as mine dude.

  • moving burns a lot of precious oxygen, so he wouldn't last nearly as long if it was a dive.

  • wow aquaman

  • i can last about 5 minutes... but only if i do warm ups and then forget about everything im my mind.. I go through the alphabet naming an object for every single letter.

  • I can go like 2 minutes, but 17? It amazes me that this is even possible without oxygen starvation or CO2 poisoning!

He must lower his metabolic rate to almost zero and his heartrate is probably like 20 bpm

  • max i can do is about 2minutes...... 17 wud kill

  • 2.3 seconds

    17 mints ? thats crazy

  • i need more air than a turbocharged v8 engine

  • lol xD

  • damn i can do about 29 sec

  • @fredbe31

    HAH! 32! BEOTCCCHHUH.

  • I had 5.13 but that was when I trained in diving. Now I hardly do 2 minutes..

  • Wow , i though blaine had the record, but no

mine is just over 2 minutes

  • Blaine did had the record. But they both took in pure oxygen.

  • wow this is crazy. with some warm ups i can get like 1.30 maybe. you have to go in like a trance to do this. a state of minor hibernation.

  • Mine is about 1 minute and 13 seconds lol but this is amazing 17 minutes!!!

  • UN-BE-LIE-VABLE!!!!!!

  • is this on a breath of pure oxygen? surely this is impossible with just air??

  • mine is 20 secs

  • r u serious how du get to do dat? i cud hardly do 1:20

  • lol mine is 58 sec :(

  • this isnt normal... i feel like im gonna pass out after like 45 sec.

  • my best is 1 min and 45 seconds

  • mine is 2 min 10 sek :D

  • thats long... i wonder what about the "Braing damage that starts to occur after 3 mins non-breathing..."

  • Ps: The thing about Tom is that he is unbelievably calm.. To truly see the struggle in a breath hols, either watch my video for contractions, or type in: 4 minutes, in the search box. This lady is a great inspiration and a real fighter.

  • The furthest I have ever swam was 1000 metres in a olympic pool when I was 9-10 years old. I could hold my breath about 30 seconds back then, today I can manage just over a minute. But 17 minutes wow that's insane under normal situations

However 17 isn't the longest, in fact there is guys who can hold their breath for up to 30 minutes under water in a meditated state. In which they lower there heart rates to only a few beats a minute.

  • got any sources to back this up...

  • I can try and do a search, basically these guys would swim down a water tube that's 18 feet deep and they would meditate for up to 30 minutes. I'll try and find it, and get back to you ASAP!

  • you got it i have heard about some very hardcore yogis do breath holding for 30-45 minutes, from my yoga teacher.some have even gone to extent of going out of body for 10-15 days and return back to consciousness.we still have many things unexplored in this lovely world.cheers.

  • my best is 37 seconds

  • Some people are just made for the water, I wouldnt last 30 seconds, I stay away from water, this guys amazing.

  • he has lungs like a whale

  • The reason this is possible is because he breathed in pure oxygen from a tank for 30 minutes prior to this, so did David Blaine on Oprah. You have to do that to exceed 10 minutes.

  • haha

  • how the f is that possible?

  • this is sick
