I have an SG just like that.. always thought it was a '72 SG Deluxe at least for what i've seen in that year's catalogue. With the groover tuners and the bigsby.. Love the tone of these T-tops.. Wonder how much it's worth.. any idea? =)
greg, fo noy get rid of that guitar! keep it for several years so i may save the money for it later! that has got to be my favorite sg of all time, if only i had the money )':
@Glockenator This is one of those weird Norlin-era (analogous to Fender's CBS period) products, where the corporate knuckleheads at the top were screwing with Gibson's classic designs in order to lower costs and maximize profits. Result: ugly guitars, cruddy quality control, guitarists defect to Japanese makes while Gibson temporarily becomes an industry laughingstock. Of course, Gregor can make even a monstrous-looking guitar sound like a model in a little black dress. Wunderbar!
@moogyboy6 it's partly because Gregor is an awesome player, and partly because though they look a bit like dodgy imitations they are still excellent guitars... well, if you can find a good one, that is.
i have a very nice '73 SG which looks a lot more "traditional" than a lot of other SGs from that time. it's a beauty amongst the beasts, it plays like a dream and sounds superb. but gibson did wire the pickups to the wrong set of vol/tone controls - it's all original, so gibson must've done it!
I have a big amp section on my selling page. I still love my Fender Vibrolux of course, but ag´fter 500 Fender Videos it is time for some different amps too

I wish to heck I could get Gregor's silky blues tone. I suppose I should ditch my Bandit 112 and find a decent a tube amp first, eh?
