  • very good lesson!!

  • @Vville230 Thanks for the comment, I appreciate that.

  • solo sounds a bit gash!!! too slow and ur missin a few notes! other than that sounds sweet

  • @Karl7ps2007

Well, the solo was one of the first "sloppy style" solos, so I was only trying to give the listener a feel for it, and demonstrate where in the pentatonic scale one can find the notes. It wasn't desinged to be a note for note copy of the original. But thanks for commenting, I appreciate it.

  • The solo sucked.

  • cool, well done

  • Sweet I've always wanted to play that

  • nice!! it is a good class and you are a good teacher!!

you should teach us more songs.thank you !! geos.

  • @Arcum11 . Thanks, appreciate that.

  • you should use ur thumb more

  • @haloskater24 you dont use your thumb while playing the guitar only on some songs

  • i know a different solo... this one liked me... but I discovered by myself the one that the kinks play in the song.... if you want i can write the tabs for you...

this one is excellent is not doubt about it... but may be you want it...

  • I don't do tabs, but thanks. Send me a video, show me what you're talking about.

  • thanx mate my mates and me are going to play this at our school as our first song!little nervousbut i think w ewill be fine.wot do u do on the b string in the solo. u do it really fast and i cant dsee it

  • Hey, that's great. Good luck with your gig. I demonstrate what I'm doing on the solo at 4:10 to 5:20 of the video, and especially what I'm doing on the 1st and 2nd strings at 5:00 to 5:20. Check those parts, then let me know if you have any other questions.

  • you really got me :)

  • thats not the real way to play it but its a way to

  • Post and send me a video. Seriously, I'd like to see what you mean. I like your homepage, and thanks for commenting.

  • I'm not sure what he's on about but your's is the only way I've ever played it, personally. Not that there aren't other ways to play it, like every damn song you've ever heard, right?

  • That's true, and a really good point. Every song can be played in many different ways. Luckily, we have cool old videos of the original artists - found right here on the the 'ole Tube of You - and its fun to see if you can actually catch their hands while playing the tune. Thanks for the comment.

  • can you do born to be wild ? -thanks

  • is the opening chord 2 finger or 3 finger

  • All the chords are classic power chords, or 3 fingers. Thanks.

  • Hey man, I really appreciate the way you are teaching but I realise that you havent put anymore videos for over 8 months. I hope you will continue on your lesson but with more popular known songs.

    Thank you ;)

  • Thanks for the comment, I appreciate that. The only thing backing me up is a drum machine contained within Riffworks. I use the Riffworks software to record all four audio tracks; the drums, my rythm guitar, my lead guitar part, and my vocals. So I'm not using either a backing track or any part of the original song. Cheers.

  • thanks man great vid. i just started lessons 1 month ago but haven't started learning songs until today. i played it for about a hour and got all of it but the solo. i can now play to speed. i am going to send u my video of me when i get down the solo. Also were did u get the back up track? i have searched for it everywhere. Thanks!

  • ur so good sir..I sent u my vid.

  • EASY!

  • this is easy, but i keep hitting some of the keys

  • hey, im learning the song and just wondering if you play just the 5th and 6th strings or the 4th too? thanks for the video :)

  • add on: i mean the parts where you going from F to G

  • I'm playing all three of the top strings, as classic power chords. Thanks, ryandude.

  • thanks for that! ive been playing just the 6th and 5th and it sounds ok but something missing and now i know what it is. thanks again for the vid!

  • how much did u buy your stratocaster

  • i love your tone! sounds really good

  • Thanks. That's half the fun, isn't it; tweaking the tone until it sounds authentic. For this song, I'm using the humbuckers and playing through a classic Vox AC-30 to get that British sound. Dave Davies of The Kinks actually slashed the cone of his speaker with a razor blade, so he created the first guitar tone with that sort of fuzzy, heavy sound. True story.

  • Actually, Link Wray did this 10 years before by poking holes in his speakers with a screwdriver. Cool sound anyway.

  • I did not know that, that's good historical info to have. Thanks, 58frogeye.

  • so like the bubbley thing on the speaker its self

  • so take the speaker out of the cabnet and slash it like what part

  • it's cool !

  • THanks, good video. I'm going to learn this song! THe lead might take a bit of time.
