  • Thanks for posting the moving tribute, Lest we forget .... If interested, please check out my video and song, Soldier Boy (search Stu Aspinall). I wrote the song after being inspired by the story of a young soldier who came home fighting PTSD and eventually lost that battle. I am donating proceeds from every song download to programs that help soldiers and their families fight PTSD. Thank you for your support! ...and Thank you to soldiers everywhere!

  • I wanna thank you mate i remember the war of 1914 and 1945 in war there are no winners nor losers the only thing you get is a sementary of dead people who fought to defend their land god bless us all.

  • Fantastic video, very touching. I am myself in the service and have a cousin fighting in Afghanistan right now. It also appalls me that some people are so viciously anti-military. I'm sure their tune will change if the war ever comes to our soil.

  • how come you dedicate the video to ALL soldiers of ALL countries who died for freedom but mostly every picture are pictures of American soldiers?

  • @popFORfresh It truly doesn't matter he respects others is all that matters.

  • anyone know the first song, or the intro song, as one calls it?

  • My tribute is better.

Much more respectful. It will bring a tear to your eyes.

  • Im retired military, 6 yrs now. To all my brothers of wars past, present and future,I say Thank you.Thank you for the unbreakable bond we all share. We are closer than brothers, we men who have fought side by side in combat.People ask,why are you fighting?what for? I fight to protect my brother next to me as he does for me.There are no politics on the battlefield. We know the sacrifices we make and how some disregard it. But we were soldiers, then, now and always. An unbreakable bond.

  • @MegaBob77777

I hope there's a war with Iran, and you're reactivated.

  • @FLICKPatriotism Its a shame you loathe the military so much. Maybe some day when you are older and wiser you'll feel differently.

  • @MegaBob77777

Nah. Actually its the opposite. More and more Vietnam vets are apologizing for participating in that war.

  • I teared up. This is a wonderful video. My brother is currently serving in Afghanistan.

  • I would like to talk to the people who disliked this some people are unbelievable.

  • Excellent, excellent, excellent. The text was brilliant, inspired, heartrending. Beautiful job.

  • how can people actually dislike this?? i will never understand how people can go living day by day forgetting that there is a war going on thousands of miles away from them for them to be able to continue doing the things they love with out a care and without someone telling them they cant do it. people need to open their eyes and stop being so ignorant. i love and will die a thousand deaths to be able to with hold my freedom. that to me is priceless!

  • one of my realative's died on omaha beach(the beach they were storming at 2:52).

  • The US isn't some Hive Mind.

Every. Single. Soldier. Is an individual, sworn by oath to protect the country they feel some love for.

People who criticise what the Army are doing should redirect their complaints to the governments that send them out to do their job for them. Soldiers get little enough thanks as it is.

  • mnan what those medics went through back in the day and now i feel bad for them seeing a soldier die and not being able to save him that hust have break there heart

  • What we remember: watch?v=oTldYbqlJc8

  • 6 Dislikes? Really? Shame on you.

  • 6 Dislikes? Really? You should be ashamed

  • Show us the soldiers of My Lai or Fallujah.

  • think of this: we dont need soldiers to protect us.

now you trolls are probably going to give me a gay responce, but think about it.

  • @niev0000 wtf?! if you're arguing about soldiers, and yo're against them, why the fuck are you here? drop it and leave!! Sure, the army has it's downers at point, half my family are in it! but you don't seem me fucking complaining about it! drop it and move on love, before you're seriously hated

  • @MaddyParr Soldiers just do what ever they are told. Good or bad. there is no reason for us to be giving them a status that they don't have. We should support the peace activists and not the warmongers. There is no reason why people that participate in carpet bombing should be protected and supported and celebrated. Supporting soldiers in illegal wars is a criminal act. If you care about soldiers start by caring about the communities where they come from.

  • @niev0000 um excuse me? are you really saying we shouldn't support our troops? do you honestly think are world would be better if we just disbanded the military? think about it. all of the soldiers in iraq and afghanistan and around the world are simply fighting to protect the rights and freedom of my country, your country and their countries. without them the taliban would still be stoning women for showingthir ankles or killing people fo dancing or singing, honestly the quality of life since

  • @j142701 US supported Saddam during his worse crimes. US military is nothing more than the violent arm of empire. Who has killed more innocents Bush or Osama? The only time that a war is legal is if we are under attack by another country. We should not support illegal wars but prosecute the leaders. US presidents that supported saddam and many other brutal dictators should be hanged, just like saddam. what you said is just propaganda. tell me what freedoms did tha iraqis take aways from us?

  • @niev0000 nato went into afghanistan has greatly improved. there are actually human rights there now. and iraq was a mess. saddam hussein was gassing kurdish and shiite civilians. his own people. he was a violent dictator who had to be stopped. the muslim fanatics have made it worse for iraq and afghanistan. and for the record, carpet bombing isn't generally used. laser guided munitions are used to minimize collateral damage. the fact is they protect your right to bash them. think about that

  • @j142701 US supported Saddam during his worse crimes. The war is illegal and the invaders should be prosecuted. i believe that they should have a fair trial. by the way, if you are in someone else land, you are not defending. If someone breaks into your house and fights with you in your living room, could that person claim that he is defending himself against you? NO BECAUSE HE IS IN YOUR HOUSE. the same when US troops are in someone else land. it's in the law. BTW, Nato is not the UN.

  • @niev0000 And the UN is not "united". There have been more wars since the formation of the UN in 1948 than in the previous history before WWII.

  • @rarelibra so lets bring the warmongering countries to justice, what you think? lets prosecute the warlords like GWB. An example of how the UN is divided UN resolution of 1981: Affirms the right of every state to choose its economic and social system in accord with the will of its people, without outside interference in whatever form it takes. 131 countries in favor, one country against (THE US).

  • to all who think we soldiers saport war... we DONT, i just dont want the war to come to the US.... so i fight in a desert, i dont go looking for violence, but ill stop it if i see it. everyone should have a chance at freedom. and by God's amazing grace im going to do his will,God gave me a caring and protective heart, so im going to protect what i love... so GOD BLESS AMERICA... AND GOD BLESS THE MILITARY!! HOOAH!

  • @navysloths you can still support the troops without supporting the war

  • i love that part where you said "its more then just selling skittles"

  • god job, son. LEST WE FORGET. best from spain.

  • this is a tribute to soldiers everywhere i dont understand why on a video that stands for so much and a video that shows what hate can do to the world , countries even more families we are arguing back and forth instead of figuring out what a good reply would be to a comment just sit back and watch and listen millions of men women and children died all so you can be here today lest we never forget them

  • Beautiful tribute! Thank you to EVERY AMERICAN Veteran for the sacrifice you have given to our country! I come from a family of Military, My father, grandfather, husband children and myself. We have felt the pain of war. I remember well!!!!

  • saving private ryan song

  • SOLDIERS

not because they have to.not because they want to.but because no one else will!!

    3/75 US ARMY RANGERS

  • @XXRANGERSXX75th Not for Govt, or for them but for our bothers who stand shoulder to shoulder. for if one of us fall so do we all.

  • I'm not an American, but I found this video very touching. The US soldier fights in all these wars to protect non-Americans; they die or are maimed or lose loved ones, and for what? The cynic may say to protect US financial interests - but most of those who fight benefit only indirectly, but definitely suffer directly. Good work, US soldiers. We appreciate what you do, even if sometimes your own countrymen don't.

  • @Mr012162

same here not an American...but always grateful for what they do.always............P.S. Ioo seconds of prayers for the safety of the heroic soldiers....

  • @Mr012162 Your a good person, thanks for being so respectful.

  • @Mr012162 As a U.S. soldier, I want to solemnly thank you for seeing who we really are. I signed the contract to liberate, defend and stand for the innocent. You have our word we will be there on a moments notice to fight tyranny. May I not forget to say, God bless our allies for supporting us in the fight against terrorism.

  • @XIndigo409 Thank you im just an innosent child and i remember when 9/11 occered i wasnt able to see my father for 100 days and im in niagara falls im almost 12 now i was about 2 when 9/11 happened and i was one scared 2 year old i remember it like it was yesterday

  • @Mr012162

you know your one of the first people to actually say nice to the people that give their lives for the right for us to be able to say this and though im not a soldier yet im soon to be one and im glad to know that there are the people that stand up and say what you just did, i have a brother in afghan right now and it hurts to see people say that they are over there for wrong reasons and all that and they hate the soldier but it isn't the soldier who wants to go over

  • @Mr012162 Well said!! Im prout to be an american.

  • @Mr012162 that is so very touching and kind. thank you for those kind words, it makes our job worth it. I don't do it for the glory, I do it for pride, I have a new born son with my best friend as a wife. I do it to protect them, and all others. It may be hard at times, but comments like yours make everything worth it. Thank you again.

  • @Mr012162 I fully agree with you, even though i must say i find it supprising to see someone else thinking like me, most people just laugh or spit at me for saying something alike...We are in this together and no matter what country you are from .

  • @Mr012162 Thank you.

  • Oscarwhiskey I do agree on a way but hold your tongue because when you first joined you DID fight for freedom and everybody else, so before you go and throw tongues at situations and shit you need revaluate things. We all go into this for the same reasons or reasons so watch yourself because it sounds like you lost where you came from abs what you stand for

  • thank you for the veterans from all the wars. Lest we forget. my family won't forget ever. My son who is 7 has gone to every remebrance day ceremony since he was born. He also saves up his pennies to get poppies for everyone in our family. He also knows that wars are horrific and people die but the cost of freedom isn't free. Lest We Forget!

  • yea we soldiers deal with alot of conflicts everyday

we all will always remember our troops who have fought a battle or any other conflict

so please don't post anything bad about our troops because we should all support them

  • @MrDOGGUY2009 i have a uncle who went to Vietnam well drafted and a cuzing who went in hes back now he just said he dosent like to talk about we he saw.. and my uncle has pains and dreams about it everyday he dosent like to tell stories either im glad my uncle came back though.. and my cuzing

  • As a former soldier I do not state "I fought for your Freedom," because I did not. I fought for Corporate greed, political egos and Media ratings. Any soldier who says he or she fought for your Freedoms does not have a handle on the situation.

  • @SirOscarWhiskey Too bad you feel that way. A sad life you are living when you got that kind BS thinking! Sad! Very, very sad!

  • My stomach hurts when I see all those brave men's names on those stones...Hope I don't end up like that...Carry on fella's, You did a damn good job !

  • From a civilian who will hopefully never be able to understand what you've gone through, to the troops who've gone overseas to fight so that I don't have to, thank you. Remember that for every American who scorns your sacrifice, there are hundreds more who thank you for it.

  • Excellent.

  • thank you to every single one of our troops,in every war, trying to save our country.

  • to the soldier who posted before me thank you for your service i am prior military and currently a military wife of 9 years....so i know what you mean by losing people you know...in this community we call home we are all brothers and sisters in arms no matter if you are a spouse, child, or soldier, mother or father...if it wasnt for those who came before there would be nothing to defend today

  • I wouldn't be an American if Veterans didn't give all.

  • We dont do it for reconition its so my brother in arms can see his family again. Soldiers know that what they think of the war doesnt matter. When bullets are going of in your face does any thing political matter? Are we there for oil or freedom? It doesnt matter cus we fight for our brothers.

  • You're both wrong... I'm fighting for my soldiers. So that my soldier can come home to families that I do not have.

  • Some people CHOOSE to help their country and for that god bless them. and i agree with the video a sprained ankle or a broken arm is nothing compared to the pain that soldiers go through and if i fought in world war 2 or 1 i would have fought with pride, and happiness that i would be helping my country be free, god bless all the soldiers lost in every war!

  • I'm a soldier in the U.S Army. Watching this video made me shed a tear. I pray to God that the scene at 5:03 is something that my mother never has to go through.

  • @sdg954 Well i hope that doesn't happen either.. cause my uncle is in the army and me and him are very close.. it would break my heart to hear that hes dead.. :(

  • @sdg954 Soldier, thank you for serving our country and keeping us free. I cannot thank you for risking your life for me and this country. Hooah!

  • They Sacrifice so much for us! The least we can do is live a good and happy life!

    And thank them...

  • Saving Private Ryan is an awesome movie

  • I think people need to get arguing and try to form a stron arm of support to all vetarans and current members of armed force evrywhere.

  • GOOD VID. Thanks!!!! U.S. Army VET

  • WE SHOULD REMEMBER THEM

  • if there were no weapons there would be no war and the arms industry is the largest business model in the world so that will never happen. maximum respect to the troops of the past present and future. and good luck in afghanistan!

  • @artysm7 If There Was No War The World Would Not Be Right We Need War To Make It The World That We Know And We Will Not Win That War With Afghanistan There Know There Country Better Than We Do The Russians Couldn't Win It And USA And Britain Wont Either I Wish We Would Just Pull Out We Cant Keep Losing Men Like That It Is To Much For Our Small Country UK! And The USA Cant Keep Losing Men It Makes Me Sick Knowing Our Goverment Is a Load Of Shit Keeping The USA And UK Going In To Battle!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TotalMODS learn where to use capital letter or don't use them at all fucking hell...

we need to be in afghanistan in my opinion but iraq was a mistake as it was never going to be a democratic society with the country so divided from the outset. flush out the insurgents and kill the lot of them. peace.

  • @TotalMODS

Gee, did your countrymen think like that in WWII? You guys and the USA lost more people on D-Day than all 8 years of fighting in Iraq AND Afghanistan. That's not to say that each loss isn't tragic, but the deaths of 5000 men over 8 years is about the same as they would lost in peace time due to road accidents and such.

  • im an 11B infantryman for the army and beg the ones who dont care a rats ass to send a care package or even just a letter of gratitude overseas to understand our sacrifice before criticizing without walking in our bloody boots for a day.....hooah. p.s. 4th army value "I Will Never Leave a Fallen Comrade"......its there for a reason..

  • when you realize the agonizing pain of losing a brother in arms you will understand why we fight. it eats at you until you, that big tough soldier is crying on your floor because you feel like its your fault your brother died at the hands of the enemy...please..people who fail to stand behind us..do us a favor and stand in front of us...

  • for everyone who pull reasons out of their ass as to why soldiers fight-who arent soldiers- hear me out. soldiers enlist because they are brave, strong, and want to be a part of something far greater than themselves. soldiers join for all those reasons-but thats not all. there are some things you will just never know unless you are a soldier. example...the comradeship and bond of brothers in arms is stronger than any other force.

  • its pathetic to see people bitch about soldiers that protect us...

  • it just turns out that way when you see it first hand you will relies that when your there you can do one of two things you can either help or watch a country destroy its self on CNN. now im not saying you wrong about war nor am i saying your right just rethink about your thoughts on war and think deeper then an average person.

  • diverboy you need to look much deeper thin just the soldiers lives and the battle's they fought being in war its not about politics or money or just being a soldier when you see the land and the Innocent people being feed because they have no educations and can only be supported by what they get kids living out under a cold wet ground because there parents had no money or died sitting on a table died and the body being used as a bomb in stead of having a proper barrel its not about terroris

  • @skydive209 speak english.

  • i feel srry for the soldiers my great great great great grandfather died in the american civil war

  • it gives me great pain what WW1 and WW2 had done to everyone; not only the soldiers, but also the families that suffered... And it gives me great sadness on how WW2 could of been avoided...

  • @JohnnyMonoxide .."... the money is the deciding factor!" Johnny you commented to me so i came to respond and found this outrageous claim..... I have to disagree with this statement. To say that someone signs their life away for the minimal amount of money they give us is absurd. I know this because i enlisted last september and am leaving for MCRD San Diego in 37 days.

  • @JohnnyMonoxide I'm enlisting NOT FOR THE MONEY but because I want to help protect my country and my loved ones!! I would do it for free not because I want to kill but because I want to keep the enemy from killing the ones I love!!!!

  • ill die for all ya'll

    -US Marine

  • I am willing to die for you.

    Can you say the same?

    -An American Ranger

  • Absofrickinlutely!

  • rest in peace to all familys that have tragically lost a loved one

    -from England-

  • R.I.P. all soldiers who have died fighting in any war against any enemy, foreign or domestic, I want to be just like my grandpa when i turn 18 so I can become a Marine, and help this great nation of ours. -Future Marine

  • Excellent point Maximus, i gave up trying to talk to people about soldiering, they wont understand, they cant take it on board because they have never been there. But you know, and i know, and we can understand what its like without having to say a word to each other.

  • We Will NEVER Forget!!

  • by the great video!

  • I never met my dad. the war took him

  • When i die, i know that the last faces i will see are my loved ones, and the last face i,ll see is that of my comrade.

  • That is such a moving tribute, thank you.

I notice some comments on here who seem to think by remembering those who have died is somehow indicating that we want war... but that is not the case, I wish like most that there was peace, but just stepping back & presuming it might happen is not enough. I'm not saying all wars are right but the solider on the ground is non the less prepared to die so the rest of us can live. If we had not fought Hitler, where would be now...

    R.I.P all those lost.

  • it is a great tribute to britain, america, canada and australia that what ever the cause, who ever the foe, and where ever the fight. young men and women have, do and will always prove themselves willing to give their lives so that others may live freely, i would not want to live in a world where this was otherwise

  • We do not relish what we did, we did it for our friends and mates, we did it so some of us may come home.

I do not cry tears for them, i just feel anger that they gave, whilst you take the freedom they gave you to speak ill of them.

One day you will know the feeling of friendship lost, and the pain may pass quickly for you, but you have not known the pain of comradeship lost in battle, that pain lives in your heart for every waking moment, and sometimes sleep.

    An old fart.

  • @Dylanswalker1

I understand that feeling-I still miss them every single day and night I wake-up and fall asleep. Their over there doing the deed while I'm here waiting 4 my chance.

I feel like a benchwarmer 2 the big game in front of my eyes...

  • @Dylanswalker1 Beautifully spoken brother! HOOAH!!

  • @Dylanswalker1 Thank you! I thank each and every soldier... I know what you did and I know how much you sacrificed... I know the pain was unbearable and still is...

    Thank you...

  • @Dylanswalker1

It is sad and painful truth that

Older men declare war. But it is the youth that must fight and die. ~Herbert Hoover

  • @Dylanswalker1 well spoken and thankyou for your patriotism and honesty Dylanswalker1

...just a Canadian girl..(who's also half American..)

  • @Dylanswalker1 Sir freedom has a flavor for those who fought for it that the protected (ME) will never know (I'm a diabetic, can't serve)!

  • @Dylanswalker1 My freedoms are not because of soldiers but because of popular struggle and democracy. I never saw the US army fight for women right to vote or the 1st battalion division to march with Martin L.K. It is all propaganda. If anything the US military puts us in danger by their wars of aggression and by wasting the monies that we could use for education and health.

  • It is the Soldier, not the minister Who has given us freedom of religion. It is the Soldier, not the reporter Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the Soldier, not the poet Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer Who has given us freedom to protest. It is the Soldier, not the lawyer Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
  • @charlietooz Did freedom of the press come from the soldiers? starting with Gitlow v. New York, 268 U.S. 652 (1925), the Supreme Court held that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment applies the First Amendment to each state.Example: Gitlow, a Socialist, had been convicted of criminal anarchy after publishing a "Left Wing Manifesto." Where was the US army in all the legal battles for the right of freedom of speech? where were they? Anyone knows of any case? Strike 3.

  • @charlietooz Soldiers defending the right to protest: The Kent State shootings – also known as the May 4 massacre or Kent State massacre – occurred at Kent State University in the city of Kent, Ohio, and involved the shooting of unarmed college students by members of the Ohio National Guard on Monday, May 4, 1970. The guardsmen fired 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis. Where were the soldiers?

  • @niev0000 It is the Soldier, not the politician

Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,

    Who serves beneath the flag,

And whose coffin is draped by the flag,

Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

  • @charlietooz That is just cheap propaganda. Lydia Taft (Lydia Taft (February 2, 1712 – November 9, 1778) was a forerunner of women's suffrage in Colonial America.) Frances Wright, (a Scottish woman who came to the country in 1826 and advocated women's suffrage). In 1836 Ernestine Rose, a Polish woman, Lucretia Mott and Margaret Fuller etc etc were women that fought for the right to vote. Where was the army?

Lets see is it was the soldier who gave us our freedoms and rights..

  • @charlietooz freedom of religion in the US, did it come from the soldiers? Freedom of religion was first applied as a principle of government in the founding of the colony of Maryland, founded by the Catholic Lord Baltimore, in 1634.[2] Fifteen years later (1649), the first enactment of religious liberty, the Maryland Toleration Act, drafted by Lord Baltimore etc etc etc. Where was the army? When in history did the US army rebel and fought in favor of the right of freedom of religion? Strike 2.

  • Samsananda let me ask you something Why should we listen to you? Little history lesson People like you have always existed and every time we listen those same arguments what happens? People died not thousands, but millions of uncounted souls died? And for what, the very same peace you are so adamant about. Stand behind the soldiers, and give them all the support i can They are giving up everything to be there What have you given up so you can sit there and have a holier then thou attitude

  • @Samsananda, hey fuck you, I wanna see you walk up to the ENTIRE military and say that. No you wouldnt, youd get your ass kicked. You say that after youve done some service, you would not say that. Fucking asshole, I hope you realize that there are alot of people here that know someone who is serving.

  • @samsananda look, my brothers fighting in this war, i hope he comes home safe but i support our troops and if u dont then just go somewhere where theres no war.

  • @samsananda , the world doesnt work like that, if we pull out of iraq and afganistan do u really think there'll be peace, no will there fuck, we will just have to fight for it in our own back yards instead of theirs, as for killing civilians, we dont target them, the religious nut jobs we are fighting do, but personally i wouldnt trade a thousand iraqi or afgan civilians lives for one british, american, canadian, or australian soldiers

  • @samsananda inconscient young kid! hehe I'll have fun to put you behind the front line. :P

You know where you think people are just fine and free.:P

  • You my friend are sadly mistaken. People support the troops because they realize unlike alot of the people that dont support them.. that If we did not volunteer to do this job. Then others would be forced to. People like you would be forced to.

Do a little bit of research and realize that the innocent people are dying due to the cruel ways their own people choose to fight our troops. ie.. In the middle of populated market places.. Hospitals. ect. No innocents are killed on purpose by the Troops

  • @MaximusArelias exactly, the reason civilian casualties are so high is because the enemy are a bunch cowards who hide within the civilian population.

  • @MaximusArelias so true man just like my brother he got forced in to the danish army send to iraq havent heard from him in 4 months the army is saying his mia

  • @MaximusArelias Damn strait

  • @MaximusArelias if we dont support our troops abroad and help them more will die because of the lack of help and fresh troops and equipment sent to them, they need our support, and they have MY support to the fullest...to all brave soldiers in the world fighting, go on..fight for freedom, the freedom that we now need to protect..you will always be in my heart

  • @MaximusArelias HOOAH!!

  • @MaximusArelias very well said

  • @MaximusArelias Couldn't say it any better man.

  • @Infantry081 Thanks.

  • @MaximusArelias Thanks...

  • @MaximusArelias that is just propaganda. by international law it doesn't matter if you killed innocent on purpose, what matters is if you knew that they were going to die because of your actions The US does bomb hospitals and market places. By your logic the Jews that died during the cold winter in the concentration camps were not Germany's fault but the weather. All those innocents that died in US wars of aggression are our responsibility. BY law. The supreme crime is a war of aggression.

  • y the fuck do u think soldiers join the military u cunt...hmmmm so they can fight..thts wat they want to do in there life. you hav no idea cuz ur a tree hugging bisexual so shut the fuck up

  • Soldiers don't enlist to fight... The enlist because they were born with something within them. They were born with an amazing sense of patriotism.

  • thank you

43th Armoured infantry Dutch Royal army

  • This is so well done. The problem is when things are going well ........... we don't remember.
