I don't know what Jack's estate is owed. I assure you, this is not a joke. For more on what Lee did in the SLM bankruptcy, search this --- Stan Lee Report #1 - Transfer of Assets
This is interesting. Richard Land, spokesman for Marvel says: "Mr. Lee himself has always acknowledged that the Marvel characters belong and always belonged to Marvel." Gee, Richard. Watch this video. That's not what he claimed in his lawsuit. "Mr. Lee never claimed in that lawsuit or anyplace else to own any part of any character he created for Marvel." Hmm, Lee claimed that he "permitted Defendants to exploit his superhero characters." So, he didn't own them but "permitted" usage?
If the quotes are accurate from Lee's lawsuit against Marvel in 2002, why the hell is Marvel telling us that Stan has always said it was a work for hire? Stan is publicly agreeing with Marvel. Gee, could that be because Lee got his great big payoff -- $10 mil plus 10% of profits. If he had no rights to the characters, how could Marvel give up all that money? It belongs to shareholders. This is really starting to piss me off.
You ask interesting questions. Indeed, Lee is saying in public quite a different story from what he claimed in his lawsuit. He claimed rights, and Marvel acknowledged those rights with $10+ mil plus share of profits. If he had no rights, they didn't have to give him anything. Marvel had voided his contract in their bankruptcy.
From The Comics Journal. Who is this Lieberman character? Did he know about both contracts? ----- The Journal spoke with Arthur Lieberman, who as Lee's counsel was instrumental in negotiating Lee's contracts with both Marvel and SLM, as well as the Lee/Marvel settlement. ----- They need to get this guy's butt under oath.
What in the hell is going on here? If this stuff is true, shareholders are going to get screwed. Why weren't we told about this? This is the first I have heard about two contracts and a $5 billion lawsuit. $5 billion? Heads are going to roll if we lose money.
This video is better than any Spider Man comic Stan Lee wrote- its plot and character development are mind boggling in the way illegalities have been engaged in with impunity to hide and convert for personal gain rights assigned to one public company that were hidden to save another public company- both of which shared the same Chairman- Stan Lee
Stan Lee and Chairman of Marvel Perlmutter have seemingly engaged in bankruptcy frauds, SEC frauds, shareholder frauds and lender frauds in a shell game to hide Lee's creator's rights to what are the biggest character franchises in the world. The 13(D) filed with the SEC by Stan Lee Media Pres Jim Nesfield August, 2007 lays out the complete collusion between these Super Characters. The fact the SEC has kept this indictment of a public company and a pop icon on its official web site says it all.
