We're not just talking about violence done in the name of Scientology; we're talking about vicious beat-downs delivered by the international leader of Scientology. A "church" is by definition Christian isn't it. So why do they call them self a church,  are they christian??

@mberg1974 No, they are not. They call themselves a Church for tax and legal reasons (stemming in part from medical claims they make about their practices which landed them in hot water with the FDA. They then figured out it was easier to call themselves a religion and they could say their various practices were actually "religious ceremonies."

They're probably just trying to seem more trustworthy. The cross is a symbol of trust and respect for a lot of people.

@Crittab The cross is actually a "crossed out cross," a symbol that is also used in black magic and the occult. L. Ron Hubbard actually studied the occult and was a follower of Aleister Crowley, so it's likely he simply "borrowed" this symbol.

The crossed out cross is essentially a denial of the sacrifice of Christ, something Hubbard claims in the upper levels of Scientology training.

When I was going through police training, we were taught how to identify if a person is lying while they speak to you.

It is VERY clear that Tommy Davis is lying when he denies that Miscavage "ever hit or kicked another member of the church"

Notice how Tommy Davis looks down and then closes his eyes when he answers the question.

Its impossible to be a high level Sea Org officer and not get your hands dirty. You can't prosecute all of them.

maybe they should, but they don't...there's not enough time or money. most CASES don't even go to court and are settled with plea agreements.

I don't know about you, but I think it would be worth it to let a dozen Rathburns walk to get Miscavige, Davis and Moxon put in prison.
