They are still dilapidated eyesores and will be so as long as this backward-looking future primitive idealism continues. Reinvestment in them is being resisted by the so-called "people" (or rather a small minority of self-proclaimed artists). Don't get me wrong I think some of what the PRSC have done is great, but often it is unhelpful and, frankly, egotistic. Their use of the word "culture" is empty.

so the whole road shouldn't be turned into flats but given to the prsc so they can live out their fantasies of every building being a gallery where they can show off a small handful of artists work (the work of artists not linked to the prsc doesn't seem to stay up). Brilliant, i can't wait to see more work by 'cheo,' a man whose entire output is based on fish eyes, pandas and rude boys. Vastly talented eyesore creator.

I'm a Bristol boy, I was born in Southmead Hospital and have lived here all my life (27years). I'd have to disagree with some of you on here! Stokes Croft isn't a shithole it's certainly different though I'll give you that. I love the area myself and have lived all over Bristol. I love that there is a tangible sense of community & that the dilapidated I saws that have been left to rot have been reclaimed by the people. I do agree that the area could do with investment but it would have to still

Turn Westmoreland House into a gallery? Is that what the PUBLIC want? Or merely what Chalkley and his faggoty talentless friends want? The latter I suspect. No one else in the area cares about his pathetic group's "art". Chalkley needs to stop confusing HIS fantasies with the wishes of the public. If he really wants to turn it into a gallery then I suggest he puts up the money and buys the place, if not then he should shut the fuck up.

The place is a shit hole, lived here for over 20 years...artists suck! Get some hard working people into the area....bollox to artists... Stoke croft is gross, go back to the home counties rich kids!
