  • look how close his action is. Heavy flats low leveled flatter then usual frets with a straight neck as possible no doubt. A very light touch.

  • didn't wes have a hitch-hiker's thumb? I'm almost sure that had an influence on his strumming technique

  • Great footage, thank you thank you! Is the full clip of "4 on 6" available or posted elsewhere - as it cuts in right in the middle of the tune here.

  • Love the close up of the thumb...fuck yeah!!!

  • one thing I notice about Wes's playing and it helped me out tremendously was that when he played on his left hand he used 3 fingers(index, middle, ring) to get around on. His pinky was used when neccessary. So a four note chromatic sequence would require a slur into another note producing more legato sound.

Now I know he had great use of his pinky cause of his control over octaves.

  • yeah, his technique is really specific to his hands too. It really only works for him. Although I play with my thumb, my technique looks much different, and I use even alternation rather than thumb sweeps to produce triplets and and eighth notes. He is just incredible to watch....damn.

  • wes was one the greatest!I also like his stuff with his brothers buddy ,and monk

  • Excellent preview of this DVD. I'm pleased to have the Nica's Dream video on my personal favorites. Thanks for posting this video. I'll be sure to look for this DVD. Thanks again. :)

  • bless you for posting this always wanted to hear his own version of 4 on 6
