@MrRunout yeah i never really understood why full time nwide/ truck drivers can't get points in cup. the purpose of the rule was to try to stop cup drivers from competing for the nwide/ truck championship, not to stop nwide/ truck drivers from racing in cup. besides, if they did let nwide/ cup drivers get pts in cup, the best ne of them would do would be maybe 30th or so. its not like ne of them would contend 4 the cup championship or even come close to making the chase.
I like Scott. Good race car driver. He deserves a second chance in the cup series. He was an innocent victim of a bankrupt company crash...that's not fair. (BDR) And I mean he kicked butt with RCR!
@Twister82697 Yeah, that was a terrible decision to get rid of him by BDR. And replace him with Dave Blaney? Come on, Dave can't drive worth shit. Okay, he won the first pole for Toyota and finished 3rd at Talladega. Big whoop. Those were one-time deals. Scott Wimmer's got the talent. Maybe RCR should consider putting Wimmer in the #33 next year?
@nascarfanatic2425 That wouldn't be a bad idea, he'd be a damn sight better than Bowyer, after all he's only actually won once. The other times he got lucky.
@nascarfanatic2425 He doesn't intentionally wreck anyone, it's just that he gets really lucky. He wouldn't have won the race at Tally if it weren't for that last lap wreck.
@Twister82697 You never know. It actually was a last lap pass, so maybe Clint would've won either way, but let's look at the facts: that's Talladega. As long as you're in the lead pack at the white flag, you have a shot at winning. It's hard to say who would or wouldn't have won. I could've said that Carl Edwards would've won the 2008 Coke Zero 400 had they never wrecked, but how would I know that Kurt Busch was gonna stay committed to Carl's bumper? Bottom line though, we agree on Wimmer.
@gobackto82 Yep. Frankly, I don't respect it when Cup drivers are driving in Truck/Nationwide races, especially if they're the ones getting a LOT of success in Cup. Example: Kyle Busch. The guy's already won more races than Dale Jr. Why keep stealing the show from the younger drivers who aren't going for a Cup title? Same with Carl Edwards (although I like him, I just don't like it when he runs in Nationwide).
@nascarfanatic2425 They pretty much get in the way for the real contenders of the Nationwide/Truck series. Get people like McDowell, Bires, or Coleman driving the #18. Get Jourdain Jr., Darnell, Braun, or Kluever driving the #60. Mayhew, Speed, or Dillon driving the #33. Herring or DiBenedetto driving the #20. And so on and so on. Also, do you mind underrated Cup drivers driving in the Nationwide Series? Like Stremme, Nemechek, Conway, McDowell, Bliss, or Bayne?
@gobackto82 The underrated ones aren't a problem. It's the ones that are plenty capable of winning multiple races in Cup that I have a problem with running in the Nationwide/Truck Series. Yeah, all they're doing is taking up spots in the field for people who can actually win a championship.
@nascarfanatic2425 Wouldn't be weird if one the the non-contenders (i.e. Keselowski, Busch, Harvick) got penalized about 10-20 points, and they were leading the non-contenders points (like Bayne in the cup series), and then they got kicked back from 0 points to -10 points?
@gobackto82 what about if the top 30 drivers in points are not allowed to compete in nationwide/truck and the drivers running full time in nationwide/truck can earn points in cup?
@gobackto82 thanks! it helps drivers such as david gilliland and casey mears to prove their worth in lower series but in good equipment and it also helps young drivers in nns and truckss to get points and experience at the cup level
@gobackto82 And that's not a bad pick for Michael Waltrip. Plus I really think Scott can make it work in the #33 car. Scott Wimmer's had a close connection with RCR too. I believe it wasn't too long ago he drove for RCR in the Nationwide Series.

Scott Wimmer was a WAY underrated driver. Was in good rides and good situations. Just didn't end good at all.

Dang, for a kid who was only in his second year of then Nextel Cup Racing, that was a veteran save. Too bad he's gone now. Serious credits to him.

@Twister82697 Yeah, but it wasn't like he ever intentionally wrecked someone. Clint can drive when he has the car. Still, I agree. Wimmer's better.

@Twister82697 Who doesn't wreck people intentionally? Bowyer or Wimmer?
gobackto82 4 months ago
@gobackto82 He was talking about Bowyer, but they both race clean.
nascarfanatic2425 4 months ago
@nascarfanatic2425 I know Bowyer races clean, but did you see Dover in 2010? He wrecked Hamlin under caution.
gobackto82 4 months ago
@gobackto82 Well yeah, but honestly, I could care less about Hamlin. He's one of my top-5 dislikes.
1. Jimmie Johnson
2. Denny Hamlin
3. Kyle Busch
4. Matt Kenseth
5. Juan Montoya

@gobackto82 Bowyer and Wimmer. Although Wimmer is a bit rusty behind the wheel of a Sprint car so he could cause a crash.
