Mmmh usually Thirlwell is excellent , but here...maybe just 60 secs are good, the rest is rather anonymous and destroyed all the beauty of the original track..
Nice vid to an interesting movie. I know David Tibet has done fairly well on his own over the years, but I would really love to see more techno/club mixes of his compositions. He still creates some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard.
yes this isn't typical thirlwell but I find it enjoyable regardless. I think he was just trying to go for a club track on this one rather than some compositional master piece, which I know doesn't really live up to his reputation. but still this is fun.
I don't know about this, I mean back in the 90s JG Thirlwell use to do some great remix work. I always thought of him as a remix genius but the composition of this track is weak at best.
He obviously still has talent, the quality of the samples are great, but composition wise, I'd swear the guy is an E popping raver kiddie.
boy is super cute...

He cant be all grim and doom - even the man who tried to kill himself laughed when the rope broke and not his neck.

I say lighten up.
The fact that David Tibet can have fun with something validates that he is real and what he does isn't just a gimmick like with most artists.
Besides, dance remixes are not supposed to be compositionally genius or inspiring.
I love it.

Remixing with JGT adds a lot of surprising directions to the music.

Exactly! He was asked to a club/dance remix. It came out pretty good in my opinion.

Sounds almost like a NIN remix. JGT probably did this in 5 minutes.
