@Pyrafrost i dont think it has maze of tribulations, i know that in star ocean 3: till the end of time there is maze of tribulations but i dont think they have one in the last hope as well.

lol jeff, games on PS3 are on Blue-Ray disc technology, at 720p to 1080i/p HD, so its not the size of your TV, but the fact that you play on an old regular screen. You need a good HD screen with HDMI cable to enjoy the games on PS3. Star Ocean in an 1080i HD resolution, and the text is crystal clean.
eh, id rather get the international version, the ps3 one I mean. Drops on Feb 2010 in Japan with Eng dubs/Japanese dubs Eng subs. Confirmed in this weeks famitsu.
well if you want to do all the side quest to gain rare items .... you will be changing disc alot... because if you're on disc 3, and you need an item in order for you make a rare powerful sword for (edge) you may have to go back to the first planet...the game data of the first planet is on disc 1 and the game data for the last world is disc 3 ....
this game is just perfect. the story is addictive and the combat couldnt be better. the game is lookinggreat and what thoise gamesites say about the voice acting that it is horrible, thats just rubbish. really its one of the best voice actings in a game ever! i dont recommend this for only rpg lovers, but also for everyone that like sword fiighting scifi
Did you hear about SO:Last Hope PS3 listing on Gamefly? SE "we can't comment on a PS3 version at this time" stuff is leaked on the net all the time. PSP GO was leaked 1 week before E3 2009.
This video has really bad quality, though the game looks fairly interesting. They didn't show any type of conflict in this video though(the planet they ended up on).
This game is great, but also a message(if somebody noticed) that world war 3 will cause the destruction and end of the world, because of the nuclear weapons we(humans) have created.

Oh yeah, I got Star Ocean from game stop on Sunday, and I'm not even kidding it SUCKS. You have to go to a save point to save, the storyline is flat, and when the characters talk it looks so fake. This game is FAIL

you can't compare a Jrpg (japanese) with a western rpg. Those two gneres are distinctly different in a way that jrpgs focus more on story telling, character developement etc while western rpg tend to focus on playability and freedom.
Take a series like final fantasy for example you get dialogues and cut scenes every now and then during the gameplay. If you look at diablo, obvilivion, there may be a cut scene or two at the beginning or at end, othertime you just run around and play as you wish
This game should be really awsome, I watched my older brothers play this game when i was a kid and I just enjoyed watching. It was the first Star Ocean and I forgot what it was called. But im going to try this out and cross fingers.

In the end... Xbox360 will always be the better choice. There are as many good games for the wii as the PS3. AND THATS TERRIBLE. Or at least in my opinion... I have the Wii as well and it sucks a fat penis. Hardly ANY games whatsoever.

Xbox 360 has the advantage that MS is more into making games than Sony is.
And Microsoft, simply because it's bigger than Sony (financially), has been able to drag a lot of games that should have been PS3 exclusive (FF XIII). I'm all pro for no exclusives, we'd get MGS4 and God of War, you'd get Gears of War 2 and Star Ocean IV, along with a bunch of others for both. Would result in more money for gaming companies, better games.
PS3 get 2 FFXIII games one is shared with 360 and the other is PS3 exclusive with more action... and theres a 3rd FFXIII on PSP...if u ask me i think they cant make up heir mind but i'm not complaining

Its funny im a ps3 fan and yes most rpgs are on the 360 but a fair lot of them suck and almost everyone of the ps3 ones are good the reson they dont make that manny on ps3 is because its a more detailed system and that makes it way better then the 360 but they dont wanna make better games on the ps3 cause its (Harder) just if they would stop haveing a cry and do it they would sell alot more games but hey they would rather stuff them up on 360 first then 6 months later make them better on ps3.
You're kidding me right? The PS3 does have a lot more of the Japanese RPG's, but 360 has games like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Overlord, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata.

i think the last remnant is really good, if you dont download it to the harddrive its uber slow and framerates are crap but downloading it makes it uber fast and the framerate problem completely vanishes, also when is this released? i want sooo bad

i highly doubt it will have the same technical problems and The Last Remnant did, as far as im aware The Last Remnant was released to compensate for the wait for FFXIII so it most likely was rushed, This (I hope) will be made carefully and not rushed at all using the Unreal Engine to its full extent.
No. Just like the FF games in the sense that none of them really follow each other in a story line. The gameplay will more or less be the same in this game as in the other SO games, but it is not necessary to play the previous titles to understand this one.

P.S. about unreal engine technology for example on the latest game from square enix last redement, answers everything why Square Enix does not have skill to make decent games and why they are always behind from western RPGS. just try that game and you will see
I am getting a 360 for Fable 2, plus i may get this on it but i'd rather get it on PS3 (if they do do one that is) but then theres the installation space it may take up, but it'll be worth it: also Last Remnant, TR: Underword, FFXIII/ ffXIII Versus:PS3 exclusive. They should have done PS3 memory cards.
Japanese RPG makers having hard to making games on PS3 because they don't know what to do with unreal engine and that is one of reason why square enix keep on making crappy RPG for 360 and same as other japanes rpgs company. Yes there is few good ones like the eternal sonata or tales of vesperia etc. but they can not compete with western rpg game like fable 2 or fallout3. Japanese RPGs has different flavor but its gettin dull they need new direction and new lead and learn how to use unrealengine
I agree that some of the JRPGs coming out have been less than perfect, and certainly not up to par with what HAS come from japan, but my problem with american RPGs is that I prefer the fantasy stuff, the swords and magic and Renaissance time periods. Star Ocean just happens to cover that kind of stuff as well as mix the futuristic stuff. I'm so stoked for this game!

ps3...bad rpgs? hmmmm....white knight chronicles, dark cloud 3, kingdom hearts 3 to name a few ring any bells? level 5, the superior rpg developers 2 the now commercial, money hungry squareenix, are doing there work on the futures console... playstation 3. i switched frm 360 to ps3 due to this (and of course, everyones fave xclusive, mgs4)

i'm a little bit jealous because Star Ocean 4 and Infinite Undiscovery are exclusive for xbox360 while on the ps3 only FFVersusXXIII(a bit worried for it might follow FFXIII) is exclusive the other FFXIII goes multiplat along with Last Remnant(was announced first on 360 and later on ps3). I see it as a little bit unfair for the ps3. So why not SO4 or IU goes multiplat? or all of them goes multiplat since square likes to gain profits. Thats my opinion whats yours?

Both Final fantasy 13 versions for Xbox360 & PS3 will launch on the same daythe only difference is the xbox 360 version use 4to5 disk ps3 version will use 1 bluray disk why is that you say? because PS3 is better haha

Should've got a 360. It's got a "selection" of games, unlike the PS3, which has a "few" good games. It was a crapshoot, but I knew the 360 would be the right choice.

Square enix is top of the line production company tri=ace is some what lesser quality rpgs im pretty sure they are investing most of their "quality work" on ps3 --> Final fantasy XIII and vs XIII. I'm not mad at the table scraps let the dogs fight for it. final fantasy for the PLAYSTATION 3 is going to be the biggest rpg this gen has ever seen.
also. yeah. enchanted arms and eternal sonata had better ps3 verrsions..but that doesnt really change the fact both of those games sucked on both systems..

this game like so many others before it will do terribly for the 360 and will eventually be released for the ps3 oddly enough ppl still argue about which is better but you really cant argue with numbers the 360 is losing get over it

i highly doubt it will have the same technical problems and The Last Remnant did, as far as im aware The Last Remnant was released to compensate for the wait for FFXIII so it most likely was rushed, This (I hope) will be made carefully and not rushed at all using the Unreal Engine to its full extent.

No. Just like the FF games in the sense that none of them really follow each other in a story line. The gameplay will more or less be the same in this game as in the other SO games, but it is not necessary to play the previous titles to understand this one.

P.S. about unreal engine technology for example on the latest game from square enix last redement, answers everything why Square Enix does not have skill to make decent games and why they are always behind from western RPGS. just try that game and you will see

I am getting a 360 for Fable 2, plus i may get this on it but i'd rather get it on PS3 (if they do do one that is) but then theres the installation space it may take up, but it'll be worth it: also Last Remnant, TR: Underword, FFXIII/ ffXIII Versus:PS3 exclusive. They should have done PS3 memory cards.

Japanese RPG makers having hard to making games on PS3 because they don't know what to do with unreal engine and that is one of reason why square enix keep on making crappy RPG for 360 and same as other japanes rpgs company. Yes there is few good ones like the eternal sonata or tales of vesperia etc. but they can not compete with western rpg game like fable 2 or fallout3. Japanese RPGs has different flavor but its gettin dull they need new direction and new lead and learn how to use unrealengine

I agree that some of the JRPGs coming out have been less than perfect, and certainly not up to par with what HAS come from japan, but my problem with american RPGs is that I prefer the fantasy stuff, the swords and magic and Renaissance time periods. Star Ocean just happens to cover that kind of stuff as well as mix the futuristic stuff. I'm so stoked for this game!

ps3...bad rpgs? hmmmm....white knight chronicles, dark cloud 3, kingdom hearts 3 to name a few ring any bells? level 5, the superior rpg developers 2 the now commercial, money hungry squareenix, are doing there work on the futures console... playstation 3. i switched frm 360 to ps3 due to this (and of course, everyones fave xclusive, mgs4)

i'm a little bit jealous because Star Ocean 4 and Infinite Undiscovery are exclusive for xbox360 while on the ps3 only FFVersusXXIII(a bit worried for it might follow FFXIII) is exclusive the other FFXIII goes multiplat along with Last Remnant(was announced first on 360 and later on ps3). I see it as a little bit unfair for the ps3. So why not SO4 or IU goes multiplat? or all of them goes multiplat since square likes to gain profits. Thats my opinion whats yours?

Both Final fantasy 13 versions for Xbox360 & PS3 will launch on the same daythe only difference is the xbox 360 version use 4to5 disk ps3 version will use 1 bluray disk why is that you say? because PS3 is better haha

That's why the PS3 has mandatory installs? I'd prefer 3-5 discs than a 30 minute install, and then installs during moments in the game.

This looks like it'll be another great hit in the series, i am just hoping it won't be one sided, dougbt it, look at Enchanted arms. But it's lasted so long on the Sony console...it just seems like a cheat to me...sorry but that's how i feel...it'll pass though so don't take offence!

Should've got a 360. It's got a "selection" of games, unlike the PS3, which has a "few" good games. It was a crapshoot, but I knew the 360 would be the right choice.

They should add these events to the beginning of the video with WW3:
