In muay thay, we learn to break legs arms ribs and snap off a neck if possible...You learn to hit static bullsides from acrobatic angles. We (in MT) learn that every kick must be thrown with the intention to kill. Why? Because after a kick you are vulnerable to counters. Thats why you have to make sure everykick hurts him as hell.
